Review:Fascinating story of the excessive culture of Wall Street.
Turney Duff was a hugely successful trader until it all came crashing down as he sunk further and further into his addiction.
His redemption and his great writing ability make this a great read. Read more
Review:Great read and fun framework. I listen to the podcast so didn't think there would me much more to learn. Awesome to have it all in one place. I use this framework a lot. It doesn't fit every situation but handy and helpful. Read more
Review:Palmieri’s message is loud and clear. It’s time.
I watched Jennifer Palmieri on Rachel Maddow Show last night and decided I need to hear what she had to say. She was up close and personal and in a position to be perhaps a little more forward looking and perhaps less blame placing.
Her message is loud and clear. It’s time.
Women and children need to lead the way. Read more
Review:An easy and inspiring read. Jon's thoughtful humor throughout the book not only made the book enjoyable, but helped to drive home so many lessons along the way. If you've started...and started...and started, but struggle with actually finishing, then this book is exactly what you're needing. If nothing else, you'll finish this book which will only help to motivate you to finish your other goals you've been putting off. Honestly, this book is a MUST READ for anyone. Read more
Review:Even before I became an entrepreneur, I always wanted to be a connector. To me, it made total sense: Tim has a problem, Tom knows how to solve it. Put the two together and both are happy.
I never realized the power of a person's network until my business mentor, we'll call him John, was fired... for the fifth and final times. He was the head of sales of a franchise, had a small amount of ownership, and was going to buy out the business in the next year. The owner wanted John to become the... Read more
Review:This book is just "OK" by me. Interesting but nothing of exceptional value if you use your head a bit. These thoughts in the book are only things that we don't think about so it is a good reminder. Read more
Review:This book provides good insight into how one can better their business education without going into lots of debt to get a MBA. It also has lots of sound business knowledge/concepts that can help you grow and learn. Yes, you won't get a certificate even if you finish all the books on the reading list (currently it's at 99) but you'll be more educated so this is something each of us has to consider. I enjoy the flexibility of reading at my own pace and not taking on more student loans. For me, it'... Read more
Review:When I began to read Presence I found myself suspecting that I was going to end up hating it. It felt like one of those self-help books stuffed with testimonials to make up for the lack of content. But I'm glad I persisted, because this is a book that grows in authority as it goes on. In the end, the testimonials come to feel like foundations to prepare the reader for their encounter with the deceptively simple insights, including those on the conscious use of posture, that Amy Cuddy's research ... Review:This book was so well researched, well written and informative I used it as a text for my undergrad course on poverty. Lots of examples from the lives of families these authors followed in their effort to understand the extreme poverty that has ballooned in this country following welfare reform. They also elucidate what went wrong with the efforts to reform welfare in the 1990s. Everyone should read this. My only disappointment was with the final chapter where the authors give their suggesti... Read more
Review:Excellent Information! Concise, straight-forward, and truthful. In an age where up seems down, and wrong can sometimes seem right; Carolyn's book is so needed and welcomed. So glad I purchased three of her books. Nice to have this incredible support and know she'll always provide clarity - above and beyond my expectations! Thank you Read more
