Review:I bought granddaughter several books for her birthday (age 4). Some of them are simpler and are ones I thought would be a good start for her 'Ready to Read' or "I can Read" phases, but instead of picking up one of the simpler books, she looked through them until she found the one she wanted: "Stinky Giant". There is something about 'stinky' that makes a 4 year old laugh. She concentrated so intently that I knew it was money well spent - invest in the future. e Read more
Review:One of my tutoring students bought this book for me because her 4th grade teacher read it to the class, and she loved it. Now the book has one more fan: me! We each had our own copy of the book and set reading goals for each lesson. My student couldn't wait to share her thoughts with me and even put sticky notes to mark places where she wanted to share her thoughts about a particular part. This book was clearly above her reading level, but she rose to the occasion because the story is that g... Read more
Review:This book is absolutely fantastic. It was my favorite as a young child and was the springboard launching me, a reluctant reader, into a love for books. I just purchased this to gift to my nephew but I stole a trip thru the pages another time and remembered why I loved this book so much. If you’ve never read this book give it a try! Read more
Review:This book is beautiful addition to any little girl's collection. I cannot wait to sit and read the stories and tell our own stories with my young daughter. She loves the movies and she will be thrilled by this book.
Large, hardcover. Fantastic foldouts and illustrations. Read more
Review:I recently introduced my three year old grandson to this book. He loves it every bit as much as I always did. My mother read it to me. I loved it. My daughter loved it. The story is entrancing. There is something deeply resonant to the fantasy of the little girl who is allowed to do as she pleases in the absence of parents. Yet she is not alone and she is deeply loved by Nanny. The drawings are wonderful and intricate and prompted a wonderful half hour of exploring every little detail. Read more
Review:Very disappointed! I preordered two, one for our house & one for his home, as my grandson loves the little blue truck series. This book does not live up to the rest of the books. Would not recommend. Read more
Review:I expected a much better story line from a Little Blue Truck book. It is okay, still cute pictures and my son thinks it's alright. I love most of the other Little Blue Truck books and was disappointed in the creativity when I read this one. Read more
Review:My kids love reading this book. The story is pretty true to the movie, as opposed to other versions that leave a lot out. Both of my kids (4 and 7) love this version. In addition to the story being consistent with the movie, the illustrations are wonderful! I would totally recommend this version of the Frozen book to anyone whose kids want to relive the movie in a book. Read more
Review:This book teaches us princesses can wear pants. They can be princesses and scientists, teachers, business owners and even manage a KINGDOM all while dressing comfortably and wearing PANTS. Illustrations and storyline are well done. Story has beginning, middle and end. Read more
Review:"Emily's Quest" may be Montgomery's darkest book. Emily finds and loses love, becomes deathly ill, agrees to marry a man she doesn't love, and grows older both in years and in emotions. It's hard to believe that this is considered a children's book! Though when I was a young teen this was my least favorite of the series, as an adult I re-read the book and identified much more with Emily's troubles. There is no doubt that Montgomery knew and understood the anguish and pain in life because she... Read more
