The Republic of Thieves (Gentleman Bastards)
The Republic of Thieves (Gentleman Bastards)

Review:Continues the excellent character-driven schemes for which the first two books set a precedent. Another thrilling fantasy heist, with a plot full of twists and turns, the deep character history that the first two books whet our appetite for, and a story richer and cleverer than any other! A Curve in the Road

Review:I will repeat what others have said, because it is true. This book was just…Wow. Life can change in an instant, and Abbie’s does. She had what she thought was the perfect life, but everything changes in an instant, leaving her reeling and trying to figure out her way forward. This was an amazing read. The characters were so well done, I felt the emotions right along with them. The story line moves so easily and quickly, I found myself reading and turning pages just as quickly. I didn’t want to... Vol. III - The Guermantes Way (v. 3) - In Search of Lost Time
Vol. III - The Guermantes Way (v. 3) - In Search of Lost Time

Review:More than a commentary on Swann's jealousy or M. Charlus's homosexuality or the frivolity of the Guermantes' sorties, Marcel Proust's monumental work In Search of Lost Time paints the unsuccessful reconstruction of a forgone world and a lost existence from fickle memories, which like morning mists would fade with the rising sun. The narrator Marcel, longing for a past that didn't exist but must be created, sought to experience Bergson's continuous time rather than the fragmented and still-framed... Read more

Batman: The Dark Knight: Master Race
Batman: The Dark Knight: Master Race

Review:I was pretty disillusioned after TDKSA, so I didn't have very high expectations going into this one. I really was pleasantly surprised (with a small exception) by this book. I liked that I was able to follow the plot without any research, since it's been a while since I was caught up with my comic reading, and I liked the team-up aspects. I loved seeing the characters which so defined my early life (Atom! Hal!) and reading about them doing what they do best. I assumed it would be a set up a... Read more

Red Seas Under Red Skies (Gentleman Bastards)
Red Seas Under Red Skies (Gentleman Bastards)

Review:The writing was still excellent, as were the charachters, however little real process was seemingly made in the series as a whole. It almost seemed like "lies" retold in a different setting. I;m excited to see where the series goes, but if it continues to progress this slow I might never see its end. Read more

Uncommon Type: Some Stories
Uncommon Type: Some Stories

Review:If you read this collection of short stories in order to find out behind the scenes gossip about the many movies in which Tom Hanks has acted, or the celebrities he has known,or secret insights into the mind of one of our most successful actors, you will be disappointed. There is nothing in this collection which will change your perception of Tom Hanks one bit – the stories match his screen persona like a tuxedo tailored for Oscar night.

Most of the stories are harmless, pleasant tales o... Read more

Edward's Twilight: edward's version of twilight

Review:OMFG!!!! This book is so good!!!!! My favorite part is when the ending turns out to be a dream and Edwin is a human not a vampire. My other favorite part is when the wolves told the boy to tell Jezbell that they caught her skinny-dipping and that they'll be watching her. 5 stars baby!!! Read more

Review:I love every Janet Evanovich's books that I have read so far, which are many, including this one. Sometimes they are laugh out loud funny. I miss the characters when I'm finished reading, but there are so many more I can become acquainted with. Thank you Ms. Evanovich. Read more

Breakfast at Tiffany's & Other Voices, Other Rooms
Breakfast at Tiffany's & Other Voices, Other Rooms

Review:This iconic book by Truman Capote, whose other work I have loved, was such a disappointment. The characters were not fully developed, Holly was a one trick wonder, and the plot line just dwindled into a strange ending that was completely unsatisfying. How sad that this movie character became one of Audrey Hepburn's trademark roles. Read more

A Collection of Comics About Friendship - Lobster Is the Best Medicine

Review:Cute book. I have been following Liz's work for a while and bought this as a present for a friend who just had a baby as a keepsake. She loved it. My only complaint is that the book was slightly dirty when I received it. I was able to clean most of it off, but there are some lines noticeable under light, which makes it look used. The content of the book is lovely, I just wish they had covered it in plastic as the cover is the type that could potentially get dirty. Read more
