How to Stop Small Minds and Big Government - Arguing with Idiots
How to Stop Small Minds and Big Government - Arguing with Idiots

Review:The information was GREAT. Having the citation pages (all 30 small print pages) was excellent to back up everything that was mentioned in the book. It jumped around from point to point in a wonderfully followable ADD format. Read it in One day and loved it. Thinking about RE-Reading it just to try and absorb more of the facts. Read more

The Break
The Break

Review:I usually enjoy Marian Keyes novels but this one just irritated from the start. I thought the premise of the book was ridiculous and Amy's reaction unbelievable. Very little happens and I was left feeling that I just wanted to give her a good talking too. I also felt that the other characters could have been developed more as they were way more interesting that dull Amy and duller Hugh Read more

Review:I was irritated once realized she was married to a rich guy. Her quirks are like most women, except she has NO money issue, has a nanny, owns houses, travels the globe...I have worked and supported myself, kids my whole life, still not able to buy a home, it's frustrating if you aren't in some creepy sell out business that exploits being supported by big business giving to you when you advertise them, etc. I just work pay taxes and can't even afford to buy a house with a college education and a ... Sex Secrets That Hurt So Good - Fifty Shades of Pleasure
Sex Secrets That Hurt So Good - Fifty Shades of Pleasure

Review:Fifty shades of pleasure is not a bedside companion. I found nothing new and interesting in this book that has not already been written before. The book is boring, a sex guide should be sexy and there is nothing sexy about this book. The title is catchy because its a play off the Fifty shades of grey but the book offers nothing. The content makes you tired I fell asleep twice trying to read this book, I finally gave up and tossed it in the pile to donate to the goodwill. Read more

A Quiz about the Woman in Your Life - Do You Know Your Wife?
A Quiz about the Woman in Your Life - Do You Know Your Wife?

Review:Kind of outdated w/ type questions, and questions lack "substance". Depends what you are looking for. A kind of fun game to play as a couple because certainly does not go "deeper" to questions that makes someone think about. Read more

American Tabloid
American Tabloid

Review:Ellroy's style is not original, but paradoxically enough... it's unique. The prose here suggest Burroughs, Ginsberg, Kesey, Hemingway, Crane, and Henry James. It's tempting to dock off a couple of points for the sensationalistic approach to the theme, but that itch is counterbalanced by Ellroy's knack for creating goon-types (L.A. Confidential's Bud White comes to mind), such as Big Pete Bondurant. Bondurant is the axis upon which "American Tabloid" rotates, though Kemper Boyd might be the m... Read more

How The Sports Guy Found Salvation Thanks to the World Champion (Twice!) Red Sox

Review:Liked Bill Simmons' writing in the past. There was no pretentions, it was straight forward stuff. Low brow humor intermingled with pop culture references. It was funny, despite his biases which were always a tad tiresome. However, something happened along the way, specifically the last year or two. He has tried to become something he wasn't, and he is now straddling the line between low brow and high brow stuff. He writes eulogies for Hunter Thompson?? Say it ain't so Bill. This guy perfor... 101 Comebacks For The Slytherin In Your Life - The Unofficial Harry Potter Insults Handbook

Review:This had my grandson laughing and reading it out loud to everyone. I wish that the quality of the book had been a little better. Better quality paper and colorful illustrations would make a much more appealing book. Read more

Review:I enjoyed the out of body experiences. The ending was superb as always, thanks Chuck.

Only 4 stars because I'm sure that this was an overeducated ghost writer that is more concerned with adjectives than keeping the reader interested. I would say keep the minor descriptions at one word, if that, and I'll move it to five stars.

All other books of Palahniuk, so far, are five stars, but this one... Read more

Night of the Living Trekkies (Quirk Fiction)

Review:Mother-Daughter Review
We listened to this as an audiobook, narrated by Zach McLarty, so our review is based on that version.

My Review
Today, all my gentle readers get to find out one of my secrets ... I am a closet trekkie. Being a lover of the original Star Trek series and a lover of good zombie stories, I thought the two together would be very amusing. This story was a perfect mix of the two.

The authors were great the way they snuck in little bits and pieces of differen... Read more
