Review:Sellevision is one of the funniest books that I have read in quite a long time. Sellevision is one of the premier television shopping networks and the book follows the lives of its colorful hosts. The reader is taken behind the scenes of Sellevision into the almost soap operatic environment of backstabbing, sex, love, greed ... and the list goes on and on. It is truly a voyeur's dream.
Peggy Jean Smythe, a devout Christian and star host of the network, is brutally harassed by an unknow... Read more
Review:In one word: (excellently) weird! Children are supposed to be cute, benign, adorable. Not on this Scottish island though! Three down, one on its way, yet another kid briliantly wicked. Wasps, vipers, and dogs! of course. The book finishes in style. Read more
Review:This book is a great read, both entertaining and insightful. It's candy-coated medicine for any man who refuses to grow up and embrace the responsibliities of manhood. Women who date these men should read it too. Or just read it for fun. Read more
Review:Hat Trick was the perfect second chance-ish romance. From the previous books, Gwen was t my favorite person but I’ve grown to adore her. Marshall is absolutely her perfect match. Everything about this book from the romance to the humor was amazing. Read more
Review:Always late to the review party, I still wanted to show up even if the Dream Cream is closed and the beer has been consumed.
I loved this book. Jennifer Cruise creates amazing quirky fleshed-out characters and Bob Mayer gets his licks in with great action scenes.
I loved the opening scene. At no point in this book did I get bogged down or lose interest--a remarkable event.
Plenty of romance past and present and plenty of plot twists. Read more
Review:Tempt Me with Forever is possibly my favorite of all of Maria’s books. I’ve loved them all but this one had me cracking up at 1 am cause I couldn’t put it down. Therefore, it’s got to be my favorite! I absolutely love Gage and Lizzie’s story. Lizzie’s so good for Gage. They both had a rough start at life but Lizzie shows Gage how to live and be truly happy again. I was given an ARC of this book and voluntarily chose to leave an honest review. Read more
Review:The real thing! Rarely am I ever surprised about a writer. You can tell dead on if they have a gift or not. Jennifer Crusie has it in spades. Fabulous continuity and character development. Where does she get this stuff from? Tilda, a wannabe "legitimate mural artist" finds herself unerringly drawn back into the larcenous past she has tried to bury-but it keeps sprouting up! Trying to keep her wacko family in check, and the family gallery solvent, Tilda scrambles to eliminate any evidence of her ... Read more
Review:If you are sick and tired of reading about foreign royalty, designer clothes, jaunts to Monte Carlo, and meaningless sex laden with tired metaphors, here is your antidote. Jenny Crusie writes about real people, characters I could recognize right from the people in my home town, and yet their story is told with such humor and sensitivity, such great understanding of the dark and the light, that I was riveted. This is an incredibly fun read, yet as right and true as any piece of literature. I... Read more
Review:Awesome! What does a rolling stone con woman and the mayor have in common - sparks in huge amounts. A brilliant story with a heroine who just wants to put down roots but has never had the opportunity. Her free spirited family, an uptight town and a movie make up for a tremendous read. I have a hard copy of this and have re-read it many times. Recommended Read more
Review:I started reading the 1st chapter of this book off Jennifer Crusie's website, as soon as I was done with the 1st chapter I was hooked! I did not stop looking for the book until I found it at the library, and I didn't put it down until I finished it.
The story is about a younger man named Alex (30) and an older woman named Nina (40) who are neighbors and meet by coincidence when her dog Fred, wonders to Alex's place while she's asleep on her couch. It's the first time Nina is officially i... Read more
