I LOVED LOVED, Love Love by Beth Michele. This was one emotional rollercoaster I'd gladly ride more than once. I would NOT believe it was this author's first novel, if I had not been told so by the author herself. It was sooo well written, the characters were well developed. I started out crying, then there were times I couldn't stop my hysterical laughter, then I fell completely in love (I fell in love a FEW times, Clark and Brad AND Dane are BEYOND "swoon-worthy") but most of all this book made me think. I am going to do my best to give a review WITHOUT giving away to many details. YOU must read Love Love and experience the ride for yourself.
First Deep Thought: Dealing With Loss, Dealing With Pain
"If there ever comes a day when we can't be together, keep me in your heart, I'll stay there forever."
Dealing with loss: One of our greatest fears is that of losing someone we love. This fear plagues us from our childhood and continues to do so all through adulthood. I loved that Beth Michele introduced us to Gabby. Gabby's love and then unexpected loss, shows us just how much that loss can haunt you even years later. Letting go is easier said than done. Gabby showed us how hard it can be to get over your first love. In this case her first love was taken from her, but we all have to find ways to cope when we lose the ones we love, however we lose them. Gabby and Clark's love made me think of this quote:
"I know that's what people say-- you'll get over it. I'd say it, too. But I know it's not true. Oh, you'll be happy again, never fear. But you won't forget. Every time you fall in love it will be because something in the man reminds you of him." ~Betty Smith
Dealing with pain: Gabby also showed us how strong women can be. She carried around such pain and heartache yet she was able to live her life and be a support to her best friend Fran as well. Normally the "supporting" cast does just that, they serve the purpose of being a support to or helping out the main characters, and Fran did play that role well, however Gabby was just as supportive of her. Fran was dealing with deep issues within her family and attempting to deal with things that happened to her while she was young. Gabby was there for her through her nightmares both literally and figuratively speaking. Gabby and Fran were equally damaged, just in different ways. These best friends needed each other to balance out the sadness in their lives. They both reminded each other how special they were, they both reminded each other of the importance of moving on and living life despite the ghosts that haunt you from your past.
Second Thought, Where Did She Find These Men?
Every man that Gabby encountered played a major role in her life, and added sooo much "eye candy" for the reader, in the process :)
Clark~It would be impossible not to fall in love with Clark. He was Gabby's first love. He gave her all the things she wasn't receiving at home: love, acceptance, self esteem, appreciation. If Gabby didn't have Clark, I don't think she would have been the woman she was. Clark showed her that being who she was was enough, that she didn't have to live up to anyone elses expectations of her, as long as she was happy with the woman she is. You gotta love a man that stands by/supports his woman. Clark was her first love, her first lover, her best friend. Clark was the standard that all men that came after him never quite lived up to.
Dane~Walking Sex Appeal. Gorgeous. Looks that belong on a GQ model. Green Eyes that are unforgettable. Through a chance encounter, this successful business man awakens Gabby's suppressed sexual desires. Gabby can't let go of Clark, yet she realizes she still has "needs" that Dane is more than willing and able to satisfy. Dane is far from her happy ending. He proved to be undeserving of her time and attention, in the end I was happy that Dane didn't make it into her heart, just her bed...and I'm not mad at Gabby about that, men use women for sex often, it was about time a heroine got to return the favor (however it would be really really hard to kick that fine specimen of a man out of bed).
Brad~Dimpled cutie. Sweet. Adorable. Kind. Supportive. Superhero. The one she didn't know she needed and end up being unable to live without. Brad was dealing with his own issues involving loss. Yet he was better at coping with it than Gabby was. However, he saw something in her that was worth the wait. Brad gave Gabby friendship, a shoulder to lean on, an ear to listen. He fell in love with all her quirkiness, klutziness, and I think I never laughed so hard until the "bathroom scene!" Brad possessed the patience of Job, from the bible. He waited...and waited...and then waited some more for Gabby to address the issues of her past so she could move forward in her life.
"You're not ready for me yet, as much as I wish like hell you were. But I'm patient. I'd wait forever to be the one who gets to hold your heart."
In the end, you have to read which of these men captured her heart. Watching the story unfold was heart warming, comical, heart wrenching, frustrating, sexy, uplifting, but most of all one of the sweetest love stories I've read this year. I must admit I loved every minute of Love Love.

Love Love is like a fire-roasted marshmallow. Sweet, fluffy, goodness with that small area that is charred because it caught on fire. I'm a sucker for some good fluff, but let's be real, sometimes sweet is not always better.
California girl Gabrielle Willis thinks that everything is finally going her way. She's just graduated from UC Berkley, has an amazing best friend, and the love of her life by her side. Who cares that her dad is off with his latest twenty something girlfriend? That her mom is a stuck up bitch that's constantly looking down her nose at her only daughter? Then, in the blink of an eye, everything changes and her world comes crashing down around her.
"If there ever comes a day we can be together, keep me in your heart. I'll stay there forever."
Flash forward 3 years.... Now living in NYC, Gabby and her best friend Fran, are living the fast paced city life. Trying to start over and reinvent herself, Gabby is all about the "new". Trading Starbucks for a cute little coffee shop called the Brew House one Monday morning Gabby doesn't realize more than her coffee is about to change. She's greeted by a cute boy with adorable dimples behind the counter. For the first time in what she feels like forever he asks her what is it that she wants. Loaded question right?!?!?
"Have you ever kissed a superhero before Gabby?"
Spilling coffee all over tall, dark and sexy is not a good impression to make on the man who Gabby can not take her eyes off of. Dane is everything Gabby think she's wants. Successful, sexy as sin, and polite. But is Gabby looking for love or lust? Dane and Gabby heat up the sheets and things are starting to look "up" (no pun intended!) When Gabby finds out that Dane is her new client she's thrilled that she gets to spend even more time with Mr. Perfect. However not everyone is perfect and Dane has secrets of his own.
"I wonder why anyone would go looking for love in a bar. I mean, let's be real, this isn't the place to find the key to,your heart. The key to your vagina, maybe."
Brad is sweet and funny and makes Gabby feel "comfortable" for the first time in a long time. Shaggy hair that falls into his eyes, adorable dimples and a wink that sets Gabby's heart soaring. As Gabby and Brad's friendship grows and they dance around the obvious romance developing between them, secrets keep them from opening their hearts completely to each other. Can Gabby overcome her demons and finally learn to let someone hold her heart again?
"There's no time limit on grief. Breathe it, feel it, let it seep into you. When you're ready, and only when you're ready, you'll be able to let go. And even then, it will stay with you, somewhere in part of your soul."
I enjoyed the fun, flirty banter back and forth between Gabby and Brad. Honestly though, Gabby's insecurities and weak little girl act drove me crazy sometimes. I found myself saying to my iPad, "seriously, get your head out of your ass!!!" In retrospect, I wanted to shake the ever loving s*** out of Brad as he "proceeded with caution" not wanting to shatter Gabby's fragile heart. Dane oozes pure sex and his dirty pillow talk made my heart flutter.
Some of the dialogue was a bit cheesy, but over all this was a good first for Beth Michele. I am honored to be have been able read an ARC of her first novel. She will only continue to grow as an author and I look forward to reading more of her work. If you're looking for some fluff, sex, and flirty banter then Love Love is a book you want to read! This reader gives Love Love by Beth Michele 4 glasses of White Zin.

10+ AMAZING BRILLIANT STARS... This Book consumed me right from the Prologue. WOW! This is an achingly beautiful, heart wrenching book about getting a second chance at love and with a wonderfully sweet HEA that tugged at ALL my heart strings!! This book 100% made me Heart Happy at the end.
"But sometimes, I feel like something's missing, and I can't quite put my finger on it. That little something extra. Excitement. A challenge. An adventure. Maybe I should bungee jump off of the empire state building or run naked in central park. Nah, that would just be plain crazy, and I'd get arrested. That wouldn't end up well. Unless there was a hot guy dressed in a uniform fingerprinting me. Then it might just be worth it."
Gabby I LOVED Gabby. She was sweet, she was passionate, her thoughtfulness, the way she cares about other people, the way she appreciates life. She has a beautiful soul. Her beautifully damaged self walking through life living in a shell. She has her best friend Fran and with both of their pasts that truly are made to be best friend and they both lean on each other's shoulders throughout the whole book. Although they do get into some great banter back and forth and they even cuss each other out a lot , they stick my each other through the whole story.
A lot of people have been asking me if this is a love triangle I can tell you without a doubt it is NOT . yes there are two men involved in the story , but there is no love triangle at all.
One day Dane Rhodes enters her life. He's gorgeous, smart, and sexy as hell. Just what Gabby wants, or so she thinks. I liked Dane at first , then as I got to know him I disliked him. There was just something about him that rubbed me wrong AND man does my gut always know best... I think Dane helped Gabby to re-discover herself. He helped her to start coming out of her shell. That was all he was good for lol .
"His touch does strange things to me. It makes me feel things. Things I'm not supposed to feel. Things I can't allow myself to feel. It's like his fingers are strumming my heartstrings, pulling, plucking, twisting, and I'm helpless. Completely and utterly helpless."
Brad Dixon , Sweet , caring Coffee shop owner. He is sooo Swoon worthy it is insane . Gabby knew he was something special and she kept going back to be near him . He knows what love truly is for sure. He was so romantic, so sweet, so caring. I LOVE LOVE how the friendship that him and Gabby shared developed into an amazing romance and relationship. I Absolutely LOVED all the superhero references they were so funny. 100% added to my Book Boyfriends list. He swooned me every time he said something. I LOVED HIM so much I had 95% of my review with quotes from him and trimmed it down to not spoil it all for you. You truly need to experience Brad and get the whole of him , then you will love love him as much as I do.
"I'm sure you can. But you never know when my superhero powers might come in handy." "Superhero powers?" His dimple returns. "Yup." "What types of powers are we talking about?" "I can't tell you that. A superhero never reveals his secrets." "I see. So I have to trust that should the need arise, these so-called powers will make themselves known." "Absolutely."
I love how the chemistry between Brad and Gabby was worked into and they were not just thrown into a relationship. Their love for each other actually GREW , and it was an amazing journey with these two amazing people. It makes your heart Happy to watch these two grow in their relationship.
"My God, you have no idea how much I want to be with you, or how long I've wanted you. I'm so hard for you right now it's driving me insane. I want nothing more than to bury myself inside you and sit in between your thighs all night long. But I want all of you. I want your body and your heart, and I won't accept anything less. I want the whole of you, Gabby." His hand finds my face in the darkness, and he holds me in place. The moonlight is shining in his eyes. "You're not ready for me yet, as much as I wish like hell you were. But I'm patient. I'd wait forever to be the one who gets to hold your heart." He kisses me like I haven't been kissed in a long time, feeling his every word with his every breath. Breaking away, I go back to resting my head on his chest, and he kisses my hair and whispers, "goodnight."
One last thing , READ this book , you will not be disappointed at all. You will fall in LOVE LOVE with Brad and Gabby trust me.
His breath is blowing on my lips like a soft breeze as he whispers, "I've been wondering something all night." My eyes go wide. "Have you ever been kissed by a superhero before?" My mouth won't move, so I simply shake my head back and forth. His eyes are burning up my lips as he breathes, "because you've never been truly kissed until you've been kissed by a superhero."
With a small gasp and a hoarse voice, I strangle out a reply. "Will it be life-changing?"
He dangles his lips over mine. "Oh yes, life as you know it will never be the same."
Beth , Thank you so much for the chance to read and review your awesome debut novel. I am grateful also for the shout out in the beginning of the book as well <3. I can not wait to read what you write next :)

Is this really Micheles first published novel? She did a brilliant job because I really enjoyed this sweet fun read. She has an easy writing style and she created a very likeable Gabrielle.
This is a very romantic feel good book where you will fall in love with the male character, you will laugh and you will swoon at the romantic moments. Count me in for another novel.
If you liked reading my honest opinion, please give me a vote so I can get closer to the top reviewers. Thank you.

I know, I know, we shouldn't start reviews saying, "I wouldn't normally read this" (because why did you pick it up and why are you reviewing it then?), but I WON this book. Plus, I'm super curious about NA (New Adult) because I've heard good and bad things about its becoming a category. I wanted to see for myself. (Mind you, I am NOT judging the category of NA on this book. I'll need to read a few NA books before making my full opinion.)
SO! Did I like the book? Not so much. Why? It felt like reading a chick-flick-movie-made-into-a-book. Not one surprise. Not even the massive climax and twist at the end. I swear, I've heard the entire story (from different places) and just found most of it accumulated in this book. For the plot factor, the book doesn't win any favours.
I was also a touch disappointed in the writing. It could get very passive and telling (not showing) and a lot of chapters I had to ask why they were even there. If all the narrator did was go out for coffee and go to work...um, who cares?
Now for the characters! (Eep! My favourite parts of a book.) The narrator, Gabby, was an interesting bundle of screwed up brain cells and chocolate addictions. Well written! Her voice progressed nicely as the book went along. Unfortunately, I was kind of turned off at how shallow a person she was. For the first 50% I would have said Gabby was shallower then a teaspoon of water. Life was sex. What do we think, talk, dream and motivate ourselves for? Sex. Seriously? There is nothing else to your one long, and beautiful life? Poor you. As the book progressed, we (the readers) found out Gabby had a bucket list (clap!) and standards (wow, shocker) and feelings on various topics (yay for Gabby!).
Fran, the friend, was awesome, but totally obsessed with sex. I ended up not liking her because even while she finally found her steady guy, she'd have ditched him for someone else in a snap. Just depends on the benefits. Now she COULD have been joking. But I don't know. I'm a sarcastic and dry humoured person myself, so I can usually tell...but not this time. Maybe I just missed understanding Fran. As for the other characters? There's Dane (typical jerky dude who's only interested in a girl for sex) and Gabby's mother (who is only there to make Gabby cranky). I mean mothers like Gabby's exist, yes, but I really got mad at Gabby for whining about how much she hated her mother. She's an adult now! Come on. Try and be an adult around your mother and you might like the results.
Okay, the luuuurve interest. Brad. Well, in a word: adorable. I was very impressed! He was sweet and sensitive and very well written. He wasn't "perfect" (thank goodness), buuuut pretty close. I was concerned at how similar he was to Clark (the dead love interest), but Brad held his own. His superhero references were sweet. I loved his thoughtfulness to Gabby and how he wanted to fall in love with HER, instead of just pop into her life for fun and then leave when he'd had enough. Nice dude. Thumbs up.
I don't mind the odd sappy romance book (duh, I read them). But I think they run the risk of being shallow. Maybe some people's lives DO revolve around just finding love, but isn't there more? I like it when romance books have depth to characters (who want more then just eventual sex) and they have intelligent conversations. Writing dumps on how-to-be-happy and why-you-should-love-him and all that, are all very sweet and romantic, but really? When it comes down to it, you're a person too. People hurt and disappoint you and they'll change you (because that's life), but when you lose sight of what it is to be YOU, then you make a very insubstantial main character.
Also, big no-no to whining characters.
But, there is Brad's letter to Gabby, that boosts any negativity I have over this book: Gabby, I told you I'd give you space, but I never said I wouldn't fill your space with flowers.

I always get worried when I try new authors...not just for the time I'm taking to read the book but also for the author. I know they put so much time and effort into books and I always feel so bad when I can't give them a 5 star. This book though, this book was what I needed to read to have faith in new authors again. I loved every minute of it. I carried my reader around so if i had a chance I could read. The story was so moving and I loved the characters! I think we can all identify with Gabby, maybe not on the level of losing someone like she did but on being hurt in love and not wanting to give our heart away then someone else can break it. The characters worked so well together and the story was told so well that it didn't fill forced at all. It was a meant to be book. I really enjoyed this and I am so HAPPY that I gave this book a chance. I hope the author continues to write because you did a wonderful job and I would love to read another book by you!!

I really enjoyed this first time book from first time author Beth Michele. I fell in love with the characters instantly especially Gabby and Fran and Brad, well Brad just made me swoon. The book was very well written, and had funny dialouge from the main character Gabrielle. I loved her clumsiness as well as her hold your head up high attitude. The book made me laugh, and at times, tear up. The only thing that would of loved to have read was more about the courtship between the characters who fall in love, when they do wind up falling in love. I honestly needed some more of of that. Oh and I wont say who falls in love either :) All in all , great book, fun read, that will pull at your heartstrings and make you realize that love can happen again if you let go and give your heart :)

For being a first book, Beth Michele knocked it out of the park with her debut novel "Love Love." I won't recap the entire story here, you can find that under the description. What I will say, is that this is a New Adult aged novel, so it may not appeal to all women who are at different phases in their lives, unless, like me, they just LOVE LOVE - and can appreciate it at any age. (I'm 39, married w/ 2 kids, & still adored the book.)
The book opens with a very tragic event at a very pivotal time in Gabby's life. Fast forward three years to Gabby living her dream in the big city, with a great job, and living with her best friend. I love how much the friends are there for each other and REALLY support each other through their difficult times. I miss those days and undying female friendships as well, so it was nice seeing that written in. The love story that develops between Gabby and Brad, is, of course, the purpose behind the entire book. Once that gets rolling, and I mean, really rolling, it is the show stealer. Once they took that tentative step and decided to just go out "as friends" (wink, wink), it was a non-stop roller coaster ride that I couldn't put down until I finished and knew how it ended! Michele writes beautifully romantic and heart touching scenes that make even a long-married woman go, "Awww!" The chemistry and adorable flirtation and determination between Brad and Gabby is swoon worthy and makes the book worth the read. I DID love their love story, which is why I rated it 5 stars. I know there needs to be some tension in a plot line, but seriously, this is her strength in the novel.
The only things that left me wanting are:
1) I was a little thrown off with some of the beginning love scene descriptions that made me feel like people were just pouncing on each other a little wet and sloppily. That may have been the intent, and perhaps, I've just outgrown that part of it =) But some of the word choices just left me thinking it didn't sound too sexy actually.
2) I was curious as to why Gabby seemed to make such a big deal out of her friend's overt focus on sex, yet, she seemed to think about sex and awful lot herself. And then, she had no worries about having a no-strings-attached torrid affair with Dane. It seemed a little inconsistent, even though I understand the motive behind her not wanting to get attached emotionally. There just seemed to be a big focus on the beginning about her friend's sexual behavior and attention, as if Gabby wasn't that way. But, she kinda was, too.
3) Ahhh, the ending. Okay, I am ALL for the happy ever after. And I do like that we got to see it all the way to the end and tie it up with a pretty little bow. That said, I'm not sure I needed it as a reader, or that it was as strong as the book's actual ending. The last page and wrap up was just so beautifully written and so strong. I don't think the epilogue really needed to be included for the book to be amazing. I also wasn't a huge fan how it switched POV's and the chapter was in Brad's perspective. I rather liked Gabby's and felt attached to hers by the end, so I just wish that it was at least written from her endearing perspective.
All that said, those are very minor things, really. What is MAJOR is Michele's unique ability to impart some serious life wisdom about some pretty heavy topics surrounding love and relationships and family in a relatable, easy-going, fun-to-read way. And the cuteness of Gabby's dates with Brad, and how romantic he is, was just to die for. Really. I think one of the most famous lines in all love story history will go down as, "Gabby, I told you I'd give you space, but I never said I wouldn't fill your space with flowers." Seriously? Swoon! You had me at hello, Brad!
Excellent job and well worth the read. I can't wait for her next book to come out!

Gabby has something from her past holding her back from moving on. Her friend Fran is trying to help her comes to terms with it and wants her to get back out there and find some happiness. I loved both these characters. The banter between them was so funny and I think everyone needs a friend like Fran.
"Gabby, let's be honest, you need to get laid." "You're not yourself, but I'm sure it's nothing a good piece of ass can't take care of."
Gabby is a kind hearted, coffee loving, clumsy, junk food junkie who you will love instantly. Brad is the sexy, sweet owner of the coffee house she frequents to fuel her caffeine addiction. I have to say that this was one of my top favorite first kiss scenes. I love me some Brad. Why can't all men be as wonderful as him? Any guy who says "your kiss made my hear flutter" deserves to be adored. You will get a HEA and you will finish this book with a big smile on your face.
My favorite quote.... "I was dead inside before I met you. You awakened something in me, and if you think I'm letting you walk out of my life, you're more insane than I am."
