Love to follow Jassamyn on social media. A wonderful person, great personality and a fabulous teacher of Yoga. She has created a great book for starting a Yoga routine in the comfort of your own home.

What to say? This book had so much potential but totally dropped the ball. It wasn't HORRIBLE but I was so disappointed in it that I'm glad I only paid a discounted Kindle price or I really would have been annoyed.
The GOOD: She knows her stuff about yoga and the pictures will come in handy.
The BAD: The majority of this book is basically her life story of being awkward and fat, which I'm assuming was to try to impress "I'm just like you" but it took up a lot of the book and had nothing to do with yoga.
Also, she has a conversational tone in this book, which I like, but the cursing was enough already. It didn't make her seem more friendly or down to earth, it made her seem like a moron who doesn't know how to write a book. I read yoga books for peace and to learn something about my practice, not to have F-bombs hurled at me every 5 seconds. If that doesn't bother you then you'll like it more than I do.
Finished it, but disappointed.

A must-read for yoga practitioners and those who are interested in trying yoga but haven't done it yet because of any insecurities and inadequacies they feel they have. Jessamyn's personal stories -- triumphs and tribulations -- are relatable, her voice is real and raw, and the way she talks about and models yoga makes it inviting to all. Definitely a book for all yoga teacher shelves.

I highly recommend this to anyone, like me, that is hesitant to step into a yoga studio. I read the book first, then went back to try the positions. I haven't tried them all but the personal stories associated with the sequences are helpful because we can all relate. I did think I could fly through all the poses as Jessamyn is great at giving you the confidence to do so, but, as she said, your body will set your place and guide you. Beautifully and thoughtfully written!

What an amazingly honest and informative guide to yoga for everyone. I love the stories, observations, and picture guides that are in this book. Yoga isn't about perfection, it's about so much more than that and EVERYONE has the ability to practice yoga in the body that they have, right now!

Every Body Yoga is an illuminating how-to-book, for anyone wanting to learn yoga. This instructional guide is much more, though than just a book on yoga poses. Every Body Yoga is Jessamyn Stanley’s life story. Jessamyn shares her experiences, her struggles, her agony and her accomplishments with the reader.
The author’s devotion and desire to teach the beginner is clearly depicted in this book. She has detailed yoga illustrations, and inspirational words of encouragement sprinkled throughout it. Jessamyn not only coaches her readers to work and achieve each pose, she discloses the difficulties that she had with them also.
Jessamyn conveys to the reader how yoga, centered her, especially during wearisome times in her life; and how she was able to transition from self-loathing to self-acceptance to self-love.
The author’s passion comes through with each page of this book. Jessamyn clearly demonstrates for the reader, how yoga is for everyone and every body. Highly recommended.
Many thanks, to the publisher and NetGalley, for my advanced review copy!

I purchased this book from a local bookstore because I couldn't wait to get it in the mail. This was a great read and Jessamyn Stanley seems so down to earth. I'm gonna order another copy for one of my friends. So much info was covered in the book. I'd like to take one of her classes.

Couldn't love this book more if I tried! Jessamyn's personality is A1 and shines brightly through her writing. Can't wait to gift this book to any of my friends who are interested in yoga but need some extra encouragement to get started.

Profanity, vanity, self-delusion, and anti-white venom made this a slog. This is not about yoga discipline, postures, or mental attitudes of yoga. I got this from local library and am appalled that my county thought buying this was an appropriate use of public funds.

Really. The “F” word in a yoga book. I grabbed the book from the library before I bought it. When my husband saw the language he made me take it back to the library immediately. I cannot speak to the yoga content.
