Cherise Sinclair has created a series of novels that capture the reader and never let go. The best part of each novel in this series is the family she has created with her Shadowlands characters. This latest novel featuring the "scary" Sam the sadist, and Linda the masochist is no exception. They both are just two new members of what has become a beloved family. Each novel could stand alone, but to get the full effect of all the characters and the true feel of Club Shadowlands, I highly recommend reading the books in order.

Most importantly besides the gripping plots and believable characters, Sinclair has a true mastery of the exchange between a Dom and his sub. She writes it just as it should be and explains it beautifully. I've found myself hooked on these novels because I can relate to them so well.

To all my fellow subs out there, just read these books, you won't be sorry.

Ms. Sinclair long mentioned that she was dreading writing Sam and Linda's story...but I have to say, you'd never know it by the beauty of this tale as she wove it. This series has always been outstanding, but it just keeps getting deeper, more compelling and the characters have become almost like fictional family.

I must say that, while a sadist would not be my personal cup of tea, Ms. Sinclair has shown, with utmost compassion and beauty, that there are many ways to enjoy tea in this life.

Bravo. Well worth the wait, and an enthusiastic "recommend"!

Wow, Sam and Linda scorch the pages ! Sexy to the max!! Sinclair does it again. Each and every story she writes is different, interesting and compelling. Love Sam and Linda. I enjoy seeing the previous Dark Haven characters, too. The characters are flawed but are written in a real life fashion. You get to know, like and care about these two people. Twists and turns throughout the books along with a peek into the BDSM lifestyle make this book fantastic. This is erotica that comes with a fresh story which shows a beautiful mix between sexy and sweet. Sam is protective and caring. ENJOY!!

I have found another favorite author.... I read the first book of this series, bought the next, then bought all the rest without batting an eye. I love the way Cherise writes. I love the characters and the story lines. This particular book has opened my eyes to a lifestyle I've not paid much attention to. Never understood liking pain or causing pain. I think I understand much better now. These stories are entertaining, sexy, and also bring issues into light. I've loved other authors Club Volare, Club Sin, and but now I think my favorite might be Shadowlands ! Hot Hot Hot

I was actually worried about reading this one, but honestly I didn't flitch at the story. It was a really good well written story. It was just the right speed, length, and intensity too. I have to say there were scenes in the other books that bothered me more. Gabi and Marcus are still my faves because I can relate better but this is right up there. I think this is the first romance book I've read where I didn't relate to the characters and didn't find the male lead attractive, but still loved the book! A tender hearted sadist, who knew Sam could be so lovable!? It was a nice surprise and I look forward to the next book!

Cherise Sinclair has managed to keep fresh this series of D/s, BDSM...erotica call it what you will. This book does not disappoint.
It leans towards the darker parts of the BDSM scene. But as always with Sinclair books, it is safe, sane, consensual. The Dom in this book (Sam) helps his sub realize there is no shame in submitting to your desires.
I love the fact that CS introduces a new piece from the "Lifestyle" world of BDSM in each of her books. Sometimes it is a new type of fetish, toys, or other things (i.e the ginger root in Make me Sir). Looking forward to next book in series.

I have read all of Mrs Sinclair's Shadowlands series and have enjoyed each. The plots are a lot more then just the intimate scenes, it is a love story and adventure well twisted in, that makes it a fun read. Another positive aspect for me is I do like the relationships she develops and presents the good side of this life style. I am glad to see this more accepted by our society, a lot more needs to be accomplished. I am also glad to see as much of the submissives point of view. Great story.

When Cherise first said she was going to write this book about Sam, a Shadowlands Dominant Sadist, I wasn't sure it would be for me. I can understand mild pain as just "enhanced"sensation that is exciting in a sexual context, but have a hard time with understanding a desire for severe pain. I also wonder what kind of person can deliver that kind of pain and not be hopelessly twisted. Sinclair's Sam comes across as scary but sexy and very balanced both in his need to hurt Linda and to protect and care for her. As a Dom, he gives her what she needs. And she needs the pain to clear out the clutter, and break up the cold shell that forms around her, particularly since she was victimized by the slavers who captured and abused her. Cherise shows Sadists/masochists as just one point along a continuum of sexual practice. She herself stated that this was a book that was difficult for her to write because it was outside her comfort zone. I'll admit, I know very little about sadism/masochism, but her book gives it a balanced presentation and opened my mind just a little more.

As always her writing reflects the care and concern that should be present in any relationship, but especially in a BDSM partnership. Her Doms are always careful, and as Masters, are adept at reading their subs' needs and providing for them. They are religious about observing safety practices, which sets a good example for people in the scene who read thest types of novels. Many authors tend to go right to the anal sex and skip a lot of the preparation that makes it safer. Some of their Doms do really scary things without a nod toward safety. That's one thing I truly appreciate about Cherise. She is concious that despite warnings, some people will try things they read and not realize how it should be done unless writers make the safety aspects explicit.

This book contains the same excellent writing style of previous ones, making the characters feel real. Old favorites from the Shadowlands made repeat appearances, and Cherise's use of humor was well placed to relieve the darker parts of the story. It's a solid winner!

(I RECOMMEND READING THE SERIES IN ORDER THAT THERE MEANT TO BE READ) But the books can stand on there own as well. If you read them in order all the characters will fall into place and you'll understand why they act the way they do. Also, you'll know the old characters so when they do something you'll say, "AWE" or "Laugh" or say what a "DICK" lol In every book so far that I have read all the character's from the previous books are in the new book. I love that she does that because it doesn't feel like we lost the other characters because we were finished with there story. So we can keep following along and know what they've been up to, too.

Cherise writes all of her books with a storyline, not just sex scenes. You will fall in love with every Dom and every sub in her books. Even though the Dom's are supposed to help the subs get over there fears, the Subs also help out the Dom's open up and get past there own issues as well. This series will keep you on the edge of your seat once you find out where the storyline is going. Cherise did an incredible job at some of the (Bad Guys) scenes and setting that were involved. She doesn't go to far to turn the reader off, she gives you just enough so you know what is happening. And she does it with class. I've seen other Authors go into details where it takes away from the storyline because your turned off.

Cherise does it again! I loved getting to know Sam, and Linda might be my favorite sub yet. She is so strong after all she's faced, even while she struggles to accept who she is - a submissive masochist. I am not into pain at all, but I could not put this story down! As usual, Cherise puts me in the characters' heads and makes me completely understand why and how they enjoy the sexual experiences they do. And let's not forget to mention how HOT those sexual experiences are! I cannot wait for the next book with Sally and the Feds :)

Cherise Sinclair is still the queen. Her Shadowlands series continues to develop. The issue of sex traffic is a good one to drive the plot. There is a huge difference between the loving relationship of Sam and Linda and that of master and unwilling sex slave. We also visit other characters and attend the long awaited wedding.

Both Sam and Linda have grown children which adds another challenge to a sexual partnership that is outside the traditional missionary position

I never thought BDSM would intrigue me - until 'Masters of the Shadowlands'. The characters are three dimensional, fully developed and real enough to imagine meeting. While the latest - and hopefully not last - in a series, it is easily read on its own. Sex, Intrigue, and a layered plot make this a great read! No spoilers, by definitely come visit the Shadowlands....I wish I could!

Master Marcus and Linda finally! Cherise Sinclair you are the Master. I could not wait to find out how their story would end.
Master Marcus helped rescue Linda from a slave auction. Linda just wanted to forget everything that happened during her captivity but she couldn't deny the masochist inside her, or how Master Marcus made her respond to him even under horrific conditions. I hope this series goes on forever. The Shadowlands is a place I would definitely like to visit.

Ms. Sinclair has a way with words..and whips...and DBMS ..and masochists...and sub missives. I highly recommend all Masters of the Shadowlands series. Even if you are totally NOT into the lifestyle, the characters and different stories will grab you. Ms. Sinclair infuses all the Masters with strength, humility, humor and each of the women are flawed in one way or another. I couldn't wait to read each book to see who and what would transpire. Sorry there isn't Book 8!!

Ms Sinclair has done it again. Linda has been rescued from slavers by Sam, but even before being kidnapped she found that vanilla sex just did not do it for her. She comes to realise she is a masochist and needs that bite of pain to be able to climax, she also realises that Sam is a sadist and can give her just what she needs. Unknown to both Linda and Sam one of the Shadowlands masters is a spotter for the slavers, but, after hearing his laugh, during an intense scene with Sam, she tells Sam and Master Z. Recommend buy.

Yet another awesome addition to the amazing Masters of the Shadowlands series. With each book in the series, we've learned a little more about each of the Masters and the women who learn to love them. This book was no exception. Sam has a past with an abusive drug addict that has left him and his daughter scarred and bitter. Linda was a victim trying to overcome her fears. Come along for the ride as they learn to heal and grow. Come to the Shadowlands and meet all of the Masters, you'll definitely be glad you did!!

Love it! I waited and waited for this book. Needed a little insight into sadism and masochism and this book fit the bill. I especially wanted to know what happened with Linda and Sam. Love me Master Sam! This story does not disappoint. Also gives us more information into Sam's life and also both his and Linda's families. Will read any Shadowlands stories over and over and over again. These always stay on my Kindle.

This is a nice addition to the Shadowlands series and while I was worried about the S&M theme before reading it, it was very respectfully done. It explained the mindset behind the desires and really wasn't more that a step or two beyond where Cherise has already taken us. I don't want to put any spoilers in here, but some things are tied up nicely by the end regarding the slavers from the previous books.

It was lovely to get more on the other couples, especially Z and Jessica - Cherise if you're reading this, I want another book on how they are keeping the romance going and how their relationship has evolved!

Cherise Sinclair has been one of my favorite BDSM writers. Her characters are real, her dialogue is wonderfully written. I love her books, and I will continue to buy every book she publishes.

But I was a little disappointed with this book. I found it predictable. I knew what was going to happen before it happened. I would have liked some surprised, but there were none.

I highly recommend this book to any one interested in good BDSM writing. Very few authors write as well as Cherise Sinclair does.

I liked all the Shadowland books and this one showed a little of the S/m lifestyle. I liked how there was a love story and both of the characters had issues that they had to resolve. All too often o fond that they limit the issues to one person or event bit this book covered a wider spectrum of issues without being overwhelming. I loved this book and I can't wait for the next in the series.

Very tasty as always. The Masters of Shadowlands are definitley a rowdy bunch I'd like to know. Here we learm of Linda and Sam's story. I love how the books are seperated into couples and showcases each one in its own element. I will keep reading as always. Just be careful of the looks you might get if you are reading in public! :)

While there were a few discrepancies in the story line I really enjoyed the book. I like that there was a story and it wasn't just kinky sex. I almost stopped reading this author because I felt the last book I read "Breaking free " was horrible. I don't understand why the author did not include some of the story line in the other books. Thus far my favorite is "master of the mountain". What can I say I love reading fluff!

T he Masters of the Shadowlands continues and does not disappoint. I was concerned I would have trouble with the sadist main character, but boy oh boy, another yummy delicious loving Dom. Ms Sinclair's books are an absolute read again and again hence the five stars. She weaves a tale that keeps me tied to my kindle app until the story is done. Thank you Cherise.

Phew, finished this book, though I didn't read it in one go like I have previous Cherise books. I wasn't feeling warm and fuzzy about the infliction of pain. Yes, was consensual and yes both loved it. I needed breaks from reading. Having said that I found the characters loveable and I enjoyed the interaction with the couples from previous Club Shadowlands books.
Yes, buy this book
