Wow ! Another exciting read in this ongoing series we loved it from beginning to end.
The more I read from this author and this series the more I love the author works and her characters.
I love how she incorporated sex and the bsdm lifestyle with all her leading men.I just makes them even hotter than they already are.
I loved the main characters one broken and the other carry scars thinking he is not good enough for the women they love.
I found Steph to be a tortured soul, loving, sweet, smart sexy, brave had an awfully big heart and selfless above and beyond.I loved how she was willing to try being a submissive to a dominate which was extremely hard for her as she alway like being controlled.I loved how she was brave enough to explore her own sexuality. She was definitely my favorite character this time around.
Brody I found to be protective ,loving, dominate, sexy a bit dangerous but also one who loves with ones whole heart even if he thinks he needs to do it from afar.
The chemistry he had with Steph was amazing and made for some really hot and spicy sexual interludes. Two opposites that fit one another just what the other needs even when said parties are being stubborn.
I loved the story and the plot and the suspense as well as the emotional roller coaster these two characters had you on. Steph's heartache definitely tug on the readers heartstrings. For me though the cast of characters like Taggart,Liam,Adam,Tucker,Charolette and so many more made this story humorous and so much exciting and even more enjoyable as they all play a main part in this current tale.
I loved when you read a story and you can relate to the characters that you read about and I was able to do that with this cast of characters.I found that I love them from the onset and could not wait to hear their story.
There was so many fun parts to the story but, on of my favorites is how the men described Steph's current boyfriend .Omg ,those bunch of stinkers giving Brody a hard time and I liked seeing him squirm not that he didn't deserve it.Way to funny !
(grins and chuckles)
Don't you love it when the author makes you cry ? Well she did! The tears start flowing when Adam provided Brody with and audio file of deleted messages. The story had it all humor, laughs, sex and the bdsm lifesyle without over doing it,emotion and suspense and a great cast of characters and we love yet another tale in this ongoing series.
Personal note:One thing I should mention is that this author is fairly new to me and I keep adding more of this series to my kindle .I have been reading this series out of order.Do I think this series should be read from the beginning ? Yes !But, even if you decide to read them out of order you won't be entirely lost. For me it just wants to make be start from the beginning even more.
I really love this series!
So looking forward to the next release.A recommend real to all

After reading Revenge, my first Lexi Blake novel, I was so excited to receive an ARC of her newest book, Love Another Day. I knew it was the 14th book in her Masters and Mercenaries series (14th, Holy Cow!) but after reading Revenge, I felt like it wouldn’t matter.
This can be read as a standalone. Though the MCs meet in a earlier book, their story completely plays out in this one. I didn’t have a difficult time putting the pieces of their relationship together, especially as the prologue starts with their first night together. The conflicts that drive Love Another Day are also easy to follow and contained all within the book.
But… I really struggled to get through it.
First, it’s important to say that Stephanie’s story is a great one. She’s a woman who readers of the series will recognize as the character responsible for a horrible accident that left a past heroine widowed and childless. Anyone will be able to relate to the guilt that has surrounded Steph through all of her adult life despite the forgiveness and friendship she’s gotten from Avery. My heart filled with compassion for this brilliant, loving woman who couldn’t forgive herself and dedicated her life to serving others. Knowing how I would struggle if it were me, Blake writes Stephanie in a way that I could easily relate to every step of the way, especially after she becomes a mother. Watching her fight to overcome this was the best part of the story.
My problem was two-fold. I never really connected to Stephanie and Brody as a couple until the end. Throughout the book Brodie felt very one-dimensional. It felt like the only purpose he served as a character was to give Stephanie with a child. They loved each other, yes. But, other than being a person that Stephanie had to consider in her struggle to forgive herself he didn’t seem to serve a purpose. Towards the end, when he addresses his fears and realizes how he truly hurt her did he start to seem real to me. My other issue is the BDSM storyline, or lack thereof. While there are spankings and toy use, Brodie never felt like a true Dom and Stephanie’s only experience with the lifestyle came from reading a few books. This led to their sex scenes feeling more like a distraction from the story rather than moving it forward.
Overall, I think if you’ve read the previous books in the series you’ll enjoy this one, especially as characters from the series play important roles in the telling of this story. My favorite relationship in the book is between Avery and Stephanie as Avery is the character that really holds the key in helping Stephanie heal. For readers new to the series, again it can be read as a standalone, but I suspect that you’d enjoy it more if you start from the beginning.
3 stars for Love Another Day. Heat level: 4

probably should have known better than to begin a series on book fourteen. Granted, I wasn’t completely lost for all of Love Another Day. I did feel “foggy” when reading the book though. I was disoriented for sure and although the fogginess didn’t detract from Brody and Stephanie’s love story, the rest of the book suffered as a result.
Love Another Day begins as Brody, an undeniably hot Aussie who is basically a big softie, is wrapping up an assignment protecting Stephanie, a doctor running a remote clinic in Costa Rica. Stephanie (Steph) decides to take matters into her own hands and seduce Brody; they end up spending a passionate night together. Brody walks away the next morning worried that in a relationship he might fight to dominate and control her, destroying them both.
He told himself it had been one night. But he would remember it for the rest of his life. As for Steph, what could go wrong for her? She would move on, and that was a good thing…
Turns out, surprise surprise, Steph is pregnant! Love Another Day then flashes forward almost a year later. Stephanie’s son, Nathan, has been born and due to some not-so-nice guys in their neighborhood, their lives are threatened. Steph and Nate are forced to flee Costa Rica. Thus begins the real clusterf*ck that is Love Another Day.
The really interesting part of Love Another Day is Steph’s backstory and continued struggle. Stephanie made a mistake at during her teenage years which resulted in a car accident that killed two people. Steph, understandably, still struggles with the guilt and self-loathing years and years later. As a result, she works hard to save lives and feels guilty feeling any happiness at all. She also doesn’t seem to mind putting herself in danger. This is all decidedly not ok with Brody. So, the big conflict in Stephanie and Brody’s relationship is Steph realizing and accepting that she’s worthy of love.
Sadly, in Love Another Day Brody and Stephanie’s D/s relationship seemed like an afterthought. It felt like Lexi Blake had to include the erotic romance elements in the story to fit with the previous novels, but it didn’t really do anything to move our H/h’s romance along. Interestingly enough, after Steph and Brody got back together I was more worried about their sexual contact than excited for it. When the two first become intimate right after their reunion Steph had given birth to Nathan a little over two months ago. Even though she might have been cleared for intimate contact, Brody was kinda rough their first time around. Yikes, bikes!
“Relax, luv,” he whispered. “Let me get you started and then I’ll show you what I can really do. Can you be good for me? Can you hold still and not scream when you come?
Characters from the previous (and I’m assuming future) Masters and Mercenaries books pop in and out of the story. I’m not gonna lie, I skipped over the parts that I couldn’t keep up with. The characters all seemed nice and likable, it was just…disorienting. This book really, really does not work as a stand-alone romance. I wish I could rate Love Another Day higher since it has enormous potential, but alas, 3 stars is as high as I could rate this one.

I was really looking forward to reading Love Another Day, because Brody has always tripped my trigger. Steph was a bit tiresome at times, but on the whole, this was a fantastic addition to this dangerously sexy series.
At the beginning of the book, I was totally on Team Steph. Brody did what she asked and gave her one amazing night together. But, when she became pregnant and tried calling and emailing and texting him, Brody never responded. It wasn't that he didn't get her messages - he did. He just chose to ignore them for... reasons. But, he never stopped thinking about her.
So, when word gets to him that Steph is in danger and has asked McKay-Taggert for help protecting her, he immediately leaves London and comes to Texas to take on the task personally. And, of course, he discovers a surprise in the form of his infant son Nate when he arrives.
I love how, in the M&M series, Lexi Blake always finds a way to weave in levity into the constant dangerous situations and the seriously heavy sexual tension. The grief that Adam, Ian and the rest of the team give Brody over Steph's new "companion" is absolutely hilarious and perfectly timed. And Ian's unique way of dealing with both his employees and his enemies is always good for a smile and a laugh. And all of that is much needed. Because outside of those moments, it is literally one dangerous or lusty moment after another.
Although Brody wasn't my favorite person in the beginning, the way he was with his son and the way he constantly tried to make up for his mistakes with Steph very quickly won me to his side. But, it's like, the more awesome Brody because, the more irritating Steph got. Because of a tragic event in her past, she's always felt this overwhelming need to atone, but it's never enough. She has a seriously huge martyr complex, and now that she has a son and a man who loves her, that made me ridiculously angry. And not just me.
Brody and Steph have this great connection. I felt like Love Another Day brought us back to the series' BDSM roots. There was a lot more of that type of exploration and play in here that seems to have been missing from recent books. And Brody was a great master. But, despite that, Brody still gets angry with Steph when all she wants to do is sacrifice herself in some noble way. It's got to be exhausting for him to keep an eye on her to make sure she doesn't do something stupid. It's not good for trust-building in a new relationship, for sure. So, while the sex is phenomenal, everything else is constantly up in the air.
The new recruits that Ian has brought on board will surely give us plenty of new fodder for the M&M series. After all - there are 26 Bond movies, so there are lots more titles out there to choose from.

Those guys and gals from Lexi Blake’s Masters and Mercenaries series are back! And you can’t see me, but I’m doing a serious happy dance in my chair. This is one of my favorite series and has been ever since Grace and Sean’s book, The Dom Who Loved Me. (Which came out on my wedding anniversary, September 25th, in 2011. Great present!) Of course, I have my favorites, as I’m sure everyone reading Lexi does. I have always had a crush on Liam O’Donnell, the sexy Irishman from A Dom is Forever, and Avery, his wife and submissive is one of my favorite female characters. Of course, there is Ian Taggart. The head of the McKay-Taggart group. He’s a tall, Viking-like, dominant, kick-ass who has an addiction for Guns n’ Roses, lemon bars, and a russian mob assassin named Charlie. (Charlotte) He’s also one of the funniest characters in the creation of literature as far as I’m concerned.
[He clutched the box. “The lemon bars are completely defenseless. You are not. I trust you, baby. Any one of these guys tries something on you, you’ll take ’em out. And I’ll protect the lemon bars.”]
On to our new release, Love Another Day. Our main couple are Stephanie Gibson, who is the doctor in Africa who was once long ago responsible for the car accident that killed Avery Charles first husband and child and put her in the hospital, losing the use of her legs for a time. Avery had forgiven her, and told her she owed her two lives. She has never given up the guilt for that, despite the fact both Liam and Avery have tried to get her to. The London office’s agent, Brody Carter, a big, scarred Aussie, who worked with Steph on the Hope McDonald assignment, is our hero. He had one night with Steph, went back to London, and cut off communication with her, thinking it was for the best because he was no good for her.
Now, Stephanie is running for her life, and she’s made her way to the McKay-Taggart team in Texas, specifically her ‘family’, Liam and Avery O’Donnell. She’s also brought someone else with her, and when Brody comes running after a brief call from Li and a frightening call to her cell, Brody learns that he probably shouldn’t have erased all of Stephanie’s voice mails.
Honestly, this was one of the best in the M&M bunch to date, though there were times I just wanted to shake Steph. I got a little crazed with all of the times she held the missed phone calls over Brody’s head, and her trying to pretty much run to her death. But that’s the brilliance of Lexi Blake, she makes you have genuine feelings for her characters. And I can’t wait to learn more about Tucker and the the other “puppies” as Ian likes to affectionately call them. Bravo Lexi, for another thrilling roller ride with the McKay-Taggart-Knight gang, I can’t wait to see what’s next!

Punishing yourself for a tragedy from the past drives you to do dangerous things. For Dr Stephanie Gibson - her penance comes in the dangerous location of Sierra Leone. Operating a clinic in a war torn area comes with risks and rewards. Those risks led her to cross paths with Brody Carter and his team. In spite of her reluctance, Stephanie couldn’t resist the attraction she felt for the rugged Aussie. Both decided to spend just one night enjoying each others company. Not realizing that fate had other plans for the two.
When Steph finds herself with a lasting memory from the night she spent with Brody, she tries to reach out in spite of their agreement. A string of unanswered calls leads Steph to the realization that she is going through this pregnancy all on her own. The jungle would be the place that Steph and her son would call home. That was until the moment that danger came knocking….
Determined to save her son from harm, Steph heads back to the US to seek shelter from the ones that have been more like family than her own. Liam O’Donnell and his team are determined to keep Steph safe from the threats that are sure to follow her to the US. There is one problem…..Brody doesn’t know that he has a son. A true conflict that will lead to choices that Steph and Brody will have to make for the future.
Love Another Day is the 14th installment in the Masters and Mercenaries Series. While it does help to read the books in the series in order, you can easily read Steph and Brody’s story and still understand all of the dynamics. Regardless of the fact that you could be a newbie or a die hard fan…..either way you will be hooked on the series!!!
What a roller coaster Brody and Steph are riding!! Can you imagine not knowing you have a child? For Brody it is a fact that turns his world upside down. Add to that his longing to be with Steph and to see to her safety, and you have a lot of pent up emotion. Steph is struggling with the mistakes from her past, as well as the thoughts that plague her from not having Brody around during her pregnancy.
This book is full of emotional moments for the characters. An electric pulse that flows each time that Steph and Brody are in the same space. Can the threat to his ‘family’ force Brody to fight for what he loves? Can Steph forgive herself for the mistakes that continue to creep into her life from the past? There is only one way to find out….

This book was actually really hard for me to rate and I had to think on it for quite awhile. The story I did like and it kept me very intrigued, but the characters are what has me conflicted. While I did like them for the most part, there were many times that I had issues with their actions.
Brody was actually the character that had me the most nervous before I even picked this book up, yet he turned out to be the character I liked the most. I really loved how he went all-in once he knew the complete story about Stephanie, and he didn't run scared. And despite his actions as being the first to leave their semi-relationship in the prologue he was ready to jump back into Steph's life, which I liked. But it was the ending that had me ready to throat punch him and made all of those positive feelings I had for his character a little dimmer. He and Steph had one big fight at the end and it actually made me hate both of them. Brody was able to stay pretty well liked in my eyes, but Stephanie, whom I was already struggling with, went right to the top of my hate list in the course of this fight.
Stephanie had her reasons for being angry, and for keeping the secrets that she did. Those secrets weren't my issue with her character. Throughout this whole book there were many times that her inner dialogue annoyed me to no end as she rambled on about how she was a bad person and how she deserved every bad thing that happened in her life. If this wasn't such a frequent occurrence I could have gotten past it with no issue, but seeing as it happened a lot, I just couldn't. And then when we got to the end and she seemed to have no issue with given up on someone that did not deserve her no-care attitude, I was done with her character. That one scene took her from being a heroine that I didn't particularly like to a heroine that I wish never got a HEA.
The thing that saved this book for me was how much I enjoyed the BDSM aspect of it and that Ms. Blake did more club scenes like we used to see in the earlier books from this series. And there was a little more action which I really liked. So even though I couldn't fully connect to these characters as a couple I still enjoyed the overall story about them. Now I will just sit patiently and wait for Tucker's story which I hope will come sometime in the near future of this series.

The only breaks I took while reading this book were not my choice. They were forced on me. Otherwise I would have read the book in one sitting. I was worried that I would be tired from reading the book because of the length and the drama that could be created due to the situation of the two main characters, but everything worked out very well in the end. The only sour thing in my experience was the implication that Ian did something with another woman during the years he was separated from Charlotte. I haven't read their book yet because I wasn't sure if they had slept with other people during the years they were apart and a brief mention in this book ruined everything for me.
Brody and Stephanie are both good characters with imperfections that make them relatable and likeable. I couldn't choose a side in the beginning because I could see why Brody left Stephanie all those months ago and didn't listen to her messages, but I could also see why Stephanie had given up on them. Her teenager years messed her up pretty well and as a reader I could see how that shaped her and made her the person she is today. Her man has also a complecated past, but together they make things work.
The little teaser about the next book always manages to hook me up more and more each time about the next book. There is no need for that since I don't think I will be able to stop coming back for more books in the series. I am still very satisfied with the quality of the books the author is providing. I heard that the author plans another series about the lost boys. I am definately in for that too. Tucker has simply won me over. What I like about this series is that the author manages to create loveable characters. I don't think there is a single person in that company who is on my bad side. I liked them all.

Love another day is a story about two broken people and how they come to terms with themselves-and each other.
As a teen, Stephanie Gibson caused an accident that took the life of two people-and she has never forgiven herself. She tries to overcome her mistake by helping people in foreign lands. When Brody Carter came to her African village on a mission for McKay-Taggart, she tried to resist her attraction to him, but decided one night would fuel her fantasies for the rest of her life. Brody admired Stephanie, but didn’t feel smart enough for her and once their night was over, told her not to contact him again. But he did ask a friend to keep an eye on her.
When Stephanie is threatened by a terrorist, she runs to Texas to Liam and Avery O’Donnel. She hires McKay-Taggart to keep her safe-and when Brody finds out, he races to Dallas to be her bodyguard. But what Brody doesn’t realize is that his single night with Stephanie produced a child-because he refused to listen to any of the voice mail messages she left him.
When Brody finally catches up with Stephanie, she doesn’t want anything to do with him, and refuses to look at a future together. Can Stephanie come to terms with her guilt for the sake of her son, and can Brody overcome his own lack of self worth to convince Stephanie to take a chance with him again?.
As usual with Lexi Blake’s stories, the idea of people creating their own families is at the forefront-and as usual, Ian Taggart is a delight. The story is both complex and captivating as well as emotional and touching.
This is a totally wonderful addition to the Master’s and Mercenaries series and a definite 5 star read.

Full disclosure, I have an up and down relationship with this series so I borrowed a friend's copy rather than buy this one. I think that was the correct choice this time.
It was okay. I didn't love, or even much like, either Brody or Stephanie. I felt sorry for them at first but it passed as the story progressed. They were both such martyrs! Stephanie, to a point, I can understand, but I passed that point at about 35% in. Brody though irritated me no end. I really can't stand heroes that make choices that are 'best for' the female love interest. It's demeaning for a person to decide they know what's best for another competent adult. And if she can't make that choice herself why are you having sex with her? She's competent to decide on having sex but not on having a relationship. It's both cowardly and kinda creepy as well.
And then there is the baby... or maybe I mean YET ANOTHER 'secret' baby. Once again we have a hero learning months afterward he's a father, which compels him to get involved with the heroine, even though she's not entirely on board with it. I get it, babies are all the rage in romance these days, but so are shifters. Is the next book going to feature a shifter? Maybe a billionaire one so we get a couple more themes in? The baby seemed an unnecessary complication thrown in because babies.
Overall, while I've generally enjoyed most of the books in this series, this one did not appeal. The only saving grace for me were the appearances by Ian & the others.

probably should have known better than to begin a series on book fourteen.

This book felt really different, and I am not actually all that sure why. It was a romance, obviously. and, it was in the Masters and Mercenaries series...yet it felt really different. Maybe it was Stephanie's secret (that you find out right away) and the difference that it gave the story, but I really enjoyed it. And, as this is pretty far into the connected series (the book is a standalone but still connected to the other stories) it was nice that I still was able to feel that this was a story about fresh characters.
Brody and Stephanie have a connection that neither of them intended, and I liked that there were not really any games around this. Yes, there was a misunderstanding, but the reasons around this were reasonable and you believed in it...heck, I think I have done the same thing he does. Maybe not to this extreme, but I think we have all done this.
I liked the way they met, I liked that Stephanie was allowed to be independent, even though Brody was not the biggest fan of her independence. I liked that she was strong, and that she was capable, and that there was not really the assumption that she was not capable of taking care of herself.
Stephanie did take a little longer than I thought she should to figure out how Brody really felt about her, but the payoff to that was a lovely scene at the end that really pulls at your heart.
The pacing toward the end was a little slower than it was at the beginning, and I think there were some areas that I thought moved too slowly, but overall I enjoyed this title.
I recommend this title.

Love Another Day is full of action and adventure along with a steamy scorching hotness that only Lexi Blake can deliver! Brody Carter is one hot Irish Dom who is not going to let his woman run away no matter how hard she tries. Stephanie Gibson is just fine on her own. She does not want or need Brody's protection especially after he could not be bothered to return her many phone calls when she was giving birth to their son. The men of MacKay Taggart can more than get the job done and are willing to do so. The problem is the only man who lights Stephanie's fire is the big sexy Irishman who makes her crazy. When she sees what an amazing father he can be it makes it harder to imagine not giving him a second chance that is if she does not get killed first.
Lexi brings another James Bond like tale to the Masters and Mercenaries series. The story of Brody and Steph will bring you to tears while at the same time have you tracking down your significant other for some steamy time of your own between the sheets. I fell in love with Brody Carter. Deep down he has a good heart and will do anything to protect the ones he loves. Stephanie is strong willed woman and I adored her spunk, intelligence, and tenacity. Lexi always brings an amazingly strong willed woman to the pages and she does it once again with Steph.
Love Another Day is another great addition to the Masters and Mercenaries Series. If you have missed Ian and the men of MacKay Taggart this story is one you will want to add to your collection.

Love Another Day, Book 14 in the Masters and Mercenaries Series is just as brilliantly written, intriguing, fast paced, suspenseful and romantic as Book One, The Dom Who Loved Me. The only thing better about this book is that principals ifrom preceeding book are onterwoven throughout the story. These characters are well known and loved by Lexi Blake/Masters and Mercenaries fans.
Brody is a warrior, a protector, a trained operative but feels inferior and unworthy of Stephanie's love. Stephanie is a self sacrificing doctor who feels she will never be worthy of anyone's love because of a tragic mistake in her past. After a year's separation they come back together when Stephanie has to leave her clinic in Africa and run for her life. A truth is revealed and Brody does everything in his power to convince her that they belong together. An unexpected event brings clarity to both Steph and Brody and finally decide their love is worth fighting for.
We get to know one of the "lost boys" better in this book. Tucker is in turn, funny, naive and tragically sad from the damage inflicted on him by Dr Hope McDonald. Tucker's childlike innocence and straightforward unvarnished honesty added so much to the story. Once again Ian Taggart's antics and droll commentary provide comic relief.

DAYUM! Another awesome Masters and Mercenaries book! I will admit, this is a one click series for me and with that I do have high expectations. Well this book met those and more! It is different in that it is not as hard core, but the characters needed softer sex scenes... well for the most part. Stephanie is trying to right her past, an accident that left more than one life changed. I wanted to slap some sense into her I would say at times but it was more like most of the time until a lightbulb went off in that stubborn mind of hers. Brody, oh the big Aussie... tough and insecure. He doesn't think he is good enough for Stephanie. What is wrong with these men? He realizes that he is exactly what she needs.
There was action, of course, the mob makes an appearance, humor, and heat. New characters are introduced. I fell in love with Tucker very quickly, you will see why. Oh the memories Charlotte has... that woman can be scary. No spoilers here... dang. This book kept me on the edge of my seat and yeah, I didn't put it down. This was a read way past bedtime book.

To say that I loved this book is an understatement! I have been waiting for Stephanie and Brody's story since Dominance Never Dies. Their relationships struggles are very easy to relate too, Stephanie dealing with the guilt of her past and Brody with his insecurities. I loved every minute of reading how their romance unfolded. This book will make you laugh out loud and cry. Lexi Blake has done it again, this page turner has twists, romance, action, humor and the McKay & Taggart family!

Brody and Steph.....what an adventure. I've read every book in the series...this one does not disappoint. I love the setting in the Club...the way their family...the absolute love ..the sex is so well conveyed. Their story made me cry....then sigh. Each story brings back the past characters with humor and familiarity. Such enjoyment...excitement...adore this series...Bravo

Please RateLove Another Day (Masters and Mercenaries Book 14)
NOTE: LOVE ANOTHER DAY contains sexually, graphic scenes of Domination and submission.
Told from dual third person perspectives (Stephanie and Brody) LOVE ANOTHER DAY follows the building but acrimonious relationship between former SASR soldier and security specialist Brody Carter, and Dr. Stephanie Gibson. Approximately one year earlier Brody was assigned security detail to Stephanie Gibson and her crew who worked and operated out of a medical clinic near Freetown Sierra Leone, South Africa. Stephanie’s attraction to Brody is immediate and palpable but our hero is reluctant to start anything knowing there time together is limited and coming to an end. One night together finds Brody walking away from the woman he will never forget. Fast forward to present day and Brody will come charging back into Stephanie’s life when our heroine is targeted for something she knows nothing about. What ensues is the rekindling relationship between Stephanie and Brody, no promises for the future, and Stephanie’s dogged determination to make reparations for sins of the past-reparations that place Stephanie in the direct line of fire on more than one occasion.
Dr. Stephanie Gibson suffers with survivor’s guilt; PTSD that pushes our heroine to risk her life without consideration of others or the people she leaves behind. A past shrouded in tragedy, Stephanie’s ongoing guilt and need to risk her life, placing herself in danger gets old, very fast. Our heroine tries to sacrifice herself (on multiple occasions) for the sake of others but a sacrifice that would destroy the man that she has grown to love. Brody Carter doesn’t do relationships; his line of work as a security specialist places him in dangerous situations and a relationship would only add further complications to a lifestyle rarely conducive to family and love but Stephanie Gibson keeps secret a very important part of her life-one that places Brody front and center, for now and into the future.
There is a very large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including security expert and former SASR solider Alfi Dauterre, Ian and Theo Taggart, and many of the previous story line couples, as well as Tucker and all of the ‘lost boys’ whose memories have been wiped by Dr. Hope McDonald. The requisite evil has many faces including several members of the Ukrainian mob.
LOVE ANOTHER DAY struggles with the ongoing self-sacrificing actions of our story line heroine. Stephanie’s need to ‘martyr’ herself for sins of the past was anything but heartbreaking as I endeavored to accept her actions as anything but a cry for attention. For me, the heroine’s continuous need to place herself in danger, risking not only her life but the life of those who had to constantly step in to search and rescue, made for too many anxious moments-moments I felt were unnecessary and over the top. In short, I had a difficult time sympathizing with Stephanie Gibson; her attitude and relentless efforts to get herself killed was disconcerting and disappointing. The premise was engaging but at times distressing; the characters were colorful and dynamic but the heroine’s actions affected my overall enjoyment.
