It's always a treat when Cherise Sinclair puts out a Mountain Masters or Dark Haven book, and then she combines the characters! Well that's an extra bonus. I was too happy to hear about the characters from the series.
What I wasn't happy about was the way Sawyer treated Mallory. All of his hang ups didn't stop him from pleasuring her, so his ugly behavior (because I can't call it what I really want to) really made the story difficult to read at times. I know every story has its problems especially when a relationship is involved, but I think this story really had some reality to it. Women and men can do some really hurtful things to each other, and this book evoked a lot of angry feelings from me. I was looking forward to an escape when I picked this book up, but instead I was forced to have strong emotions and thoughts after each time that I put the book down. I think I get caught up some times in a relationship dilemma not really having any real substance past the characters own person insecurities. In Master of Solitude the interactions were messy, painful at times, and lonely at others. I knew Mallory was strong but I found myself wanting to jump in there as a girlfriend and really talk to her about the decisions she was making. The way I felt often while reading this book was my deciding factor behind giving it a three, and I know that some would say the book did what it was supposed to: evoked emotions, called for some type action, or just made the reader want more. I don't know what it was all I know is it didn't fulfill what I expected to get, and that's ok. I'm not telling anyone to not read it. If you love Cherise's books like I do then you have to read it, and If you have never read her books; then you have to because she's a great writer.

I found the fun, sexiness and emotional depth of Ms Sinclair's early books missing in this one (and the last couple of books). Possibly the ever shorter looming deadlines for bestseller authors is the problem?

Anything written by Cherise Sinclair is a must-read in my reading adventures and this one was no exception. Sawyer and Mallory's story was one that explored how a man who was not looking for a permanent woman (sub)found one at the time when it was unexpected and how a woman who never experienced a passion and drive to step outside of her romantic comfort zone outside of reading about it found the perfect match (Dom) for a lifetime. This book had the passion and emotional moments but it also held some suspense. You also get glimpses of the lives of the other couple's and favorite characters as the book travels to another unforgettable couple. So worth the wait and can't wait for the next book!

Fun, compelling read. Cherise Sinclair is a must buy, must read author.
Stand-alone that is easy to follow and difficult to put down. Realistic storyline, setting, actions and reactions. There is no graphic brutality.

Believable characters with distinct personalities and emotions. The aspect of seeing people's aura is interesting.

The dialogue is informative, thought-provoking and always enjoyable.

Cherise Sinclair is an advocate for safety and communication with your partner.

I will re-read this story as I do her other books. I always look forward to, pre-purchase when possible, new works by this author.

Do you have an author that you get totally excited when you know they are coming out with a book? You’ve pre-ordered it, you wait for the clock to tick down until the hands reach the time for that download? (Or the copy gets to the store.) Cherise is my author. I consider her my subbie godmother. (I’m sure she’s heard this numerous times.) My first book from her was Club Shadowlands, and something just clicked. Again, a story I’m sure she’s heard many times, so I’m not special.
But, she’s definitely become a one-click buy for me. (Okay, so I haven’t read Ben and Anne’s book, even though I bought it. I’m just not a domme person.) I love all of her series, especially Masters of the Shadowlands and Mountain Masters and Dark Haven, so many yummy doms to choose from. Although, not very many singles ones left. Harumpf.

Master of Solitude is about Sawyer Ware, Atticus’s brother who was in prison. Now, he’s out, and he’s decided to put down some roots so that he can be close to Att and soon, younger brother Hector. (Mom is a big fan of Greek mythology, can’t you tell?) Sawyer sees a woman, Mallory, on the side of the road, trying to take on a member of the Aryan Brotherhood, a group that not only shot atticus and kidnapped his woman, but are causing problems now. He helps her and they end up having a one night stand. But if Sawyer thinks that’s the end of her, he’s wrong.

Mallory McCabe can read auras, and she loves what she sees in Sawyers, but he keeps blowing her off. Just how much can a woman take? I got a huge kick out of Mallory and her cat. And she herself is a tad obsessed, her favorite sayings are , “Hiss and Spit”, “For the love of cats!” and “Mother of Cats!” She also has a fondness for Lord of the Rings and Narnia.

Sawyer is a really good guy, but he’s also very focused on getting his revenge on the Aryan Brotherhood, which places a target on Mal’s back. So, their “not-a-relationship” is much like a yo-yo. In any case, you’ll love this book, I honestly think It’s one of the best that she’s written.

Oh how I’ve missed this erotic and sensual world that Cherise Sinclair created some time ago. Mallory McCabe and Sawyer Ware were EVERYTHING you guys…EVERYTHING! A tortured soul, and a woman who wants nothing but to heal his heart. This journey was one of passion and emotion. It poured off of every page and I couldn’t put it down for even a second.

“Tonight you have a safe word – and nothing else.”

MASTER OF SOLITUDE can be read as a standalone, but if you are familiar with the series, then you know why I’m completely gushing over Sawyer. This man has been through hell and he is now trying to find a place where he belongs. Just when he is about to branch off on his own journey, he realizes that his brother needs him, and his future, once again, is put on hold. When he stumbles upon the beautiful Mallory, he knows that she is too good for the likes of him, but she is a persistent little thing, and will not let him go that easy. No matter how hard he pushes her away, he can’t get the little spitfire out of his mind. She is strong-willed and just bursting with sassiness that just does EVERYTHING for him. But he will do what it takes to protect his family and her, even if it’s from himself. It’s only when he stops pushing, when he realizes he already found his home and his future, and it was in front of him all along.

“I love you…my captain.”

Cherise Sinclair was one of the authors that brought me into the world of BDSM Romance, and I’ve never looked back. MASTER OF SOLITUDE is a passionate and emotional journey full of hope, self-discovery, and love. I devoured this enticing and sensual romance in one night and let me tell you, it was so hard to say good-bye to these characters and this town. I know we will meet again. I know Ms. Sinclair is far from over with this series (at least I hope she is!) but it doesn’t make it any less hard to turn the final page. This story was beautiful. These characters were amazing. Their journey was EVERYTHING! I couldn’t have asked for a better installment to one of my favorite BDSM series!

The latest instalment in the Mountain Masters series focuses on Sawyer whom we last met in prison. Now he has been released and is facing a world that stigmatises and condemns him.
Mallory is a local business woman with her own construction company with a lack lustre social life, and who following an incident involving attempted assault, where Sawyer intervenes to help, ends up spending the night with him. The story starts.
This is a well written and very enjoyable story. There are one or two good sub-plots, hot erotic sex scenes, and we get to know more about other characters that have appeared in earlier books.
This is not the best in the series, mainly I think because the gang story-line didn't quite hit the mark for me, although I am struggling to put my finger on exactly why. I liked Sawyer a lot, and I liked the developing friendships especially with Morgan. Mallory was a gentle but strong soul and appealing in both her normality and her uniqueness. These stories are more than just romances they are about a world and relationships outside the main couple, friends and family, grumbles and support.
I would recommend reading this series, but doing so in order, and every one is well worth reading.

ONLY Cherise Sinclair can bring a book with BDSM that would make me desire, curious, interested, and WANTING to find out MORE about the lifestyle. Master of Solitude felt more realistic than anything else I have read with BDSM. I am so stunned, and amazed, and just EXCITED! From the the bottom of my heart, I swear, NOBODY does BDSM like Cherise Sinclair! Master of Solitude is pure magic. Sexy, sinful, erotic, passionate with incredible characters and one hell of an addicting storyline, I found myself fully enchanted.

In this brand new story, we get a broody Dom (Sawyer) who is happens to have a hero heart. I couldn't seem to resist his charms...even when he was being a grump, he was downright SEXY. And our heroine, Mallory is like NO other heroine I have read in any of Cherise's stories. She is sweet, has one hell of an amazing ability, and is compassionate and caring has a Wicca vibe that just makes you think of tranquility and peace. Sawyer and Mallory just...BELONGED with each other. She was looking for a hero and he was looking for peace and companionship. And the sex...WOWZA! It was SINFULLY HOT and SO DARN erotic and yet there was a tenderness to the type of BDSM with this book that is beyond words. I cherished the heck out of it! This story is something unique and special and will be a favorite of mine for sure for a LOOOOONG time. Cherise Sinclair writes fresh, sexy, and sweet stories that just take your breath away. I can't get enough!

Master Of Solitude gets a SIZZLING HOT HOT HOT FIVE SHOOTING STARS! I was addicted to this story from the beginning and nothing gets my motor running like Dom who also happens to be a hero.

I loved getting Mallory and Swayer's story. Getting to read about a hero and his sweetness was awesome. I love this little town of Bear Flat and all the different people it attracts. This was a really sweet story and such a great romance. I loved getting to hear Kai and Wen give voice to their wonderful story.

Master of Solitude is another remarkable book for author Cherise Sinclair and an exciting addition to the Master of the Mountain/Dark Haven series.

This is the story of Sawyer Ware, who appeared in Master of Freedom as brother to hero, Atticus Ware. Sawyer is also a hero-a fact that is apparent to Mallory McCabe as soon as she lays eyes on him. But Sawyer mistakes the reason for her interest in him and draws away. He keeps finding reasons to get close, then pulls back. He’s lucky his lady is a bit of a pacifist-otherwise she would kick him into next week.

I loved Mallory-she is head of a construction crew-and a free-spirited hippy. Strong, serene and wise beyond her years, she makes a perfect foil for Sawyer’s dark aspects. Sawyer himself is yummy, if a bit dense. But can he make himself open to a relationship with Mallory when his adopted town is in danger and being with her would put her in danger, too?

As always when I read a Cherise Sinclair book, the ending comes to soon, and I wanted to start back over at the first page and return to Bear Flats, California. This is an author who can write anything from gruesome reality to fairy tales and make you want more. In this book, we have a little bit of both.

Expect some relatively light BDSM scenes, including a visit to Dark Haven. In fact, we get to revisit many of the previous couples from the earlier books, which makes this a warm, comforting read for anyone who follows the series. It will still work just fine as a standalone.

This is totally a five-star read with great characters, a charming setting, suspense, sizzling sex scenes, and good story.

Mz. Sinclair has yet another hit on her hands. Sawyer is hot, sexy and totally dominate. What more could a lady ask for? Mallory is smart sexy and an all around fit for Sawyer. These two are pure magic. Definitely going to add this to my collection of Mz. Sinclair's part of my library. I totally loved it.

I liked Sawyer and Mallory’s romance. The BDSM scenes are well done (as always) and exactly what I expect from a Cherise Sinclair novel. It can function as a standalone, even though there are alot of characters from earlier books and the new reader may get a bit lost. I would have loved a bit more balance between Mallory and Sawyer, since he has several jerky moments and Mallory is just a bit too zen with it all. That said, I still enjoyed myself and I closed my kindle with a smile. The secondary plot involving the danger with the Aryan Hammers is good, and I wished the romance had kept me as interested as those bits. Still, there’s alot left to explore on this mountain and with these masters. If you love BDSM, I encourage you to check out Ms. Sinclair’s books. I can’t wait for the next one.

Love Cherise's strong female characters. They may do a temporary retreat but they always come back strong. When Sawyer is given an early release from jail, he is enjoying his freedom. Meeting Mallory and accepting her invitation back to her place after he saved her and teenager Zoe from one of the bad guys from jail, he doesn't know that, that decision will change his life, for the better. He finds it difficult to just accept that she likes him, for himself, but he doesn't know that she 'sees' him through his aura. She knows he is a good guy. She just has to help him believe it.
