A very confusing inconsistent book. Didn’t like the beginning, they just started talking. I didn’t know any back history who was talking and why. Kurt and Nikki had no bond no build up. Wasn’t for me.

2 1/2 stars. Hated the I consistencies. The racism was unrealistic for the midwest. I was raised there. I figured out The Who did it long before the story got there, and the book left out so many wrap ups to things, it was disappointing.

I received this as an advanced review and I guess I didn’t notice that it was about a black woman and a white man. Either way I thought it was kind of cheesy. Nickie comes out to Omaha to escape her abusive ex-husband and to try investigate what is going on at the O’Connor ranch. There are plenty of challenges to overcome.

I volunteered to read this Arc for an honest review. This story had so many twists and turns it kept you on your toes. Who's haunting the O'Connor Farm? Well that is exactly what Nicki Bridge is going to try to find out. She is a detective out of New York City who was trying to escape and forget about her ex-husband. She is in Omaha Nebraska was Sam O'Connor and her two sons Kurt and Dierks. When she first meets the two boys, Kurt is holding a gun at Dierks. Nikki is trying to figure out what's going on at the farm, from The Apparition, dead sheep and now KKK member showing up. Kurt continues to flirt with her but she's determined not to fall for him. After witnessing The Apparition herself, Nikki is not sure if it's a jilted farmhand or something else. She is caused to run for someone trying to attack her several times but she is not going to let that stop her from finding out what's going on. As she digs into the history and the craziness going on the farm she finds several interesting facts that will end up getting her in trouble. Kurt and Nikki develop feelings for each other and it starts to heat up, but they kind of hide it for a while from his mother. I like how the story flows there's always action going on and it's nice to see a a good guy stand up for someone and try to protect them.

Nicki has been divorced for 4 months. It's still raw for her but she's determined to make a fresh start. She gets away with Helen until they get to Omaha. Nicki is staying with Sam & her two sons on a ranch. Kurt Sam's son is intrigued with Nicki. He wants her but she backs off. In the end she can't. A good book. Thanks.

This is my first book by this wonderful author Jamila Jasper. Will be reading more. This well written book is full of twist and turns. Mystery. Explosive chemistry. Characters you love and ones you love to hate. Will keep you hooked until the end. Come and join Nicki and Kurt is intriguing story. You will not be disappointed.

Cocky Cowboy is a romantic suspense you won't want to miss. Nicki escapes her awful ex husband in Omaha where she has to use her detective skills to solve the mystery on the farm where she's staying. The two brothers that live there are complete opposites. Will she trust her heart? Will the mystery be revealed? I voluntarily read and reviewed Cocky Cowboy as an ARC.

While this was quite an interesting book for me it was not a great read,I kinda liked the mystery and wanted to find out everything that was going on but I did not really get the characters i did not really like them but that could just be me it is worth a read just for the mystery though.
