Ayn Rand Box Set

I needed to read Atlas shrugged for a school assignment and the boxed set was a great deal so I ended up reading them both. Taken as works of pure fiction these are very enjoyable works and I recommend them to anyone who wishes to get a deeper understanding of what Rand thinks the actual outcomes of her philosophical musings will be.

I am certain the book will be enjoyable no matter what, but the two books are paperbacks and not hardcover. The three star rating is because of the store's misrepresentation and has nothing to do with Ayn Rand's talents as a writer.

As other reviewers have noted, the font for both of these books is quite small. This is necessary to get the books to be a regular paperback size. That being said...if you do have an issue with small font do yourself a favor and order a larger version of this book. Be advised however: The larger font version weighs about the same as an encyclopedia! At the expense of reading great literature you will need to pick your poison: a book with small font or heavy as a small exercise weight. Either way, whatever sacrifice you choose to read Ayn Rand is worth it!

Ayn Rand came from Stalin's Russia. She wrote the Fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged to show us how INDEPENDENT Americans should remain. How we should embrace Capitalism as this left-wing Socialism and Communism doesn't work. The whole world is built on competition. From the animal world to us. This feel good socialism, high taxes, letting the government intrude and run people's lives... it's not only against human nature... it doesn't work!

These two excellent books are novels which preach Capitalism and Individuality. Both have been made into excellent movies. Bottom line: THINK FOR YOURSELF! Stand up and be individual men and women of the type that built this nation.

This book should be required reading for all high school seniors...Who is Johnn Galt? Many problems in our culture could probably be avoided if people were more like John Galt. In the top 3 books of all time!

Released in '57 and written just after WWII, this book could have been written yesterday. Ayn grew up under collectivism and warns of a government with tentacles in every facet of life, the impact of the government interfering in a free market. It is a lesson we should learn from all the failures of a "do good" society.

I read these wonderful books many years ago and have always wanted to obtain new copies ever since mine were lost. Ayn Rand was well ahead of her time when she wrote these books about agressive, intelligent, and ambitious women making a success in a man's world.I loved both the books, but lean more toward Atlas Shrugged as my favorite. I'm pleased that a movie is finally being made about it

I was disappointed to realize the font size of these books was very small - I probably won't even read these as a result. I would probably appreciate a font size description in the ads for these books. My error, however; I have no one to blame but myself. Thanks.

What a great box set! The books themselves are very small, which is blessing and a curse. For someone who wants to carry their book in their purse all day, its great! For someone who has less than perfect eyesight, not so much. Overall great buy though.

This is a small print version that some people with poorer vision will find difficult to read. It is just fine for me. I was very happy with the speed of processing and receipt and would highly recommend with the above caveat.

If you have a couple dozen hours for some "light" reading, try one of these two books. The message was really good, but Rand beats you over the head with it repeatedly. Even though the economy and technology in it are dated, it still seems like it could be written about our current conditions- a timeless message.

I was very happy to receive these books because I need The Fountainhead to complete an essay. The books took just two days to get to my house after ordering them. This allows me to start work on my essay right away. Very happy with my books.
