The Zorn Warriors series is excellent, but the first in the series, Ral's Woman, is one of my top 10 favorites. There's aliens, action, lots of heat inducing sex and a romance that progresses with misunderstandings and family interference. While this book has lots of steamy scenes, the character development is there. You get a good sense of what makes both of them tick. What I loved most about Ral is he is a total Alpha male completely devoted to his woman. Ariel has spirit, but finds herself dragged into an unknown world and chooses to adapt. She is a survivor. The story was fast paced and full of details of an alien world, filled with gorgeous alpha alien men who get an eyeful on how hot earth women can be. I did not want Ral's and Ariel's story to end. The brothers and the father, Berr, round up the series with satsfaction. Ms. Dohner is amazing. Her Cyborg series and New Species are incredible. I buy her books as soon as they are out.

This was a very weak story. Although the concept of alien abduction was intriguing, the author did not develop the characters or the story line well or even mediocre. I finished the book because I started it. In the author's defense, maybe she did better with the sequels. I do not know, as I will not continue the series.

I really liked the hero. Although a alien from another world he really was a super cool hero. I can not wait to read the rest in the series.
It had all the elements of a suspense filled romance that kept your heart racing. The love scenes was well written and just enough. Not overly explained and dragged out as with many erotic stories. The characters was strong and willing to work together in the unusual setting. Giving you a realistic feel to the story.
A very good read.

Who knew aliens could be hot? One long haired, tanned skinned alien named Ral certainly is. Yummy. I am suppose to be doing a review not drooling. So moving on.
In Ral's Woman we first start off with Ariel being trapped in a cave. She has been kidnapped from Earth by the alien race Anzon for the sole purpose of breeding with the alien race. Apparently when it comes to Anzon's their are more men than women and they need to breed with outsiders otherwise their race will die out. Turns out humans are not compatible. Yay us. Bad thing is her captor still wants to have sex with her and is he does Ariel will die. Lucky the female captor intervenes and Ariel is spared that torture. So now she is given as a prize to which ever slave can win the battle. In steps Ral, the leader of the slaves. He single handedly takes on all the other slaves and wins Ariel. Instead of giving her up to one of the other slaves like he has done in the past, he keeps her for himself. Ariel doesn't know what to think. She believes that Ral wants to harm her like the Anzon's wanted too. Ral has another plan. He wants to make her his mate for life. He takes her with him when he and some other slaves escape and go back to Zorn. Life on Zorn is not great for Ariel. The only person that likes her is Ral. Ariel sticks it out and proves to everyone that she loves Ral.
I enjoyed this story because it felt that even though it was short, it wasn't just a book about sex it had a pretty good storyline. I liked the author's writing and the fact that she did not use a complicated language that is typically associated with sci-fi. The author's writing flowed very well and she packed in quite a bit of info for a short book.
Ral is my favorite character. He is very dominate and possessive over Ariel but still loving and caring. He is sexy as hell and a stealth fighter. He takes one a lot of people for Ariel's honor.
Hyvin Berrr, Ral's father, he is a jerk but his reaction to Ariel is expected. His son was kidnapped and now he brings back a woman from another planet. He is not sure what to make of it. He did make a huge mistake of making a sex tape of Ral and Ariel and having everyone see it without his knowledge. At the end he does make things up to his son.
Overall I liked this story. It was a great set up to the series. I plan on adding the rest of the books to my already packed kindle. I admit there where moments were the story was a little lack luster but overall it was great. I am giving it 4 stars ****.

While this story has potential, if I hear "you're mine" one more time....and why begin saying "I love you" with only lust and protectiveness. I'll read the next one but if it's more of the same then I'll skip the rest of the series. Please give us character development and story ---

The Zorn Warriors series is another great one by Laurann Dohner! She first hooked me with Cyborg Seduction and then she did it again with New Species... Now I'm a Zorn Warrior fan, too! She balances the hot and heavy with a steady, interesting plot that makes me want more! I only wish there were more books for this series out! I understand she's working on them, but I feel so impatient!! A++ rating in my book :)

I have previously avoided Laurann Dohner books due to reviews that implied rape/violent/nonconsentual sex. Seeing this as a free download I decided to give it a try. I found this to be an interesting read,a combination of light sci-fi, romance and erotica. This was a quick read. It was only after finishing that I started to think about the view of Earth relationships that Ariel forced on the Zorn. All sex if based on a loving relationship:(, all relationships are monogomaous :(. I am about to start on the second book in the series and am wondering if this view will continue. All I ask from a book is to be entertained whilst reading it. I found this interesting because it made me question the perceptions of the main characters.

Honestly, these books are awful. I wanted a series with strong female characters and this series was recommended. Ugh, same ole women being dominated by men. Or this is the only man that has made them feel desire, blah blah blah. BORING!!

Honestly I was expecting something more. It was good overall but it lacked details, didn't go into charactor backgrounds(which didn't help me get to have a better view of the charactors' personality), and wasn't very long. I admit I have been spoiled with detailed and lengthy stories before I read this. Although this was my first outer-space romance book. I liked the plot, that is what drew me to it. Of course I also mistakenly thought this story was going to revolve around Ral fighting through out it for her against competiters. I was disapointed when the challenge only last a page or two. So not what I was hoping for. The reason for such a high rating from me though is because it did get my attention. If this book had more length and depth to it, then it would be VERY popular and a great read in my opinion. I liked it but I would improve it if I was the auther. In the end I did really like it. Just wish it went deeper and (spoiler!) I would have liked to get more view on the pregnancy at the end(I know it is a good place to stop the book, but I like getting to see things through and noooo cliffhangers). I would have liked to see how Ral's people would have reacted to him having a child with Ariel. If you like short stories and not alot of details then this is the book for you.

Quick read and an enjoyable book. I have never read Laurann Dohner before and picked this book up when it was free, I am glad that I did. I looked at some of the reviews and was alittle sceptical at first, but I really thought that the characters were well developed and didnt think of Ral as a "caveman." With a man like that who needs words!:) Glad I found another good auther to read and I do recommend this book if you like hot, sexy aliens!

The first book in the Zorn Warriors series is off to an interesting start. I agree, Ral does seem a bit Conan the Barbarian or maybe George of the Jungle like...but I get the point that he and Ariel don't understand each other but found a way to get along and communicate in other ways. The biology of the characters was interesting and descriptive. I usually don't read sci-fi, let alone sci-fi-romance but this one worked for me.
Ariel offered directions to the United States so we can only see what happens next.
I hope this series has women from all different ethnic backgrounds in the next few books. I respect authors more when they diversify.
Anyhow, back to the point of this review. I enjoyed the book and the fact that Ariel found a way to make do with her situation. There is a part 3/4 of the way through where the editing is HORRIBLE and that bugged me a great deal but it only looked like one paragraph exploded. She doesn't piss, moan, or complain about the fact that she's removed from Earth or her family or her job or anything like that. This is a heroine who takes things as they come and doesn't whine about it! Finally!!!! I can respect that in anyone, but especially in a case where she's been removed from everything. Ral considers moving to Earth, though I don't think that would have ever worked. But then again, I'm not in charge of this universe. If you're into sci-fi this book has a bit more romance in it. If you're looking for alien trysts there are a few in this book and it gets fairly descriptive. I definitely enjoyed it and like 365andme said, he's got a basic vocabulary but it adds to his charm later.

This is a good story and I enjoyed it. According to some who reviewed this story, it could have been better written, better edited, more detailed, more character development, etc., etc. But that didn't matter to me. I liked it and I'm going to buy the next book. Hopefully it will have more of the aforementioned, but as long as it continues the story of Zorn, and has lot's of luv'n, I'm in...

I bought this because the description sounded promising, and the book was well reviewed. However I found it to be so predictable and short that it was corney.
While the plot seemed original, Ariel took to Ral and her situation so quickly it wasn't believable. The sex is hot, but is again predictable and lacks any real substance to back it up.

In reading this book I was disappointed in the seemingly hurried plot. The main characters and story line read like the whole plot was rushed without a lot of detail. AI enjoy reading sci-fi romance and found this book to be lacking for the price I paid. This is whithout a doubt one of the highest costs I've paid for a book and I took a chance on buying it while hoping the plot and characters were rich in depth considering the cost. This is one book I dearly wish I could return and get my money back. The plot of "girl kidnapped by aliens and awarded to a) the best fighter, B)the hardest working captive, or C) some kind of "almost human" looking alien has been done before numerous times. This reads just like other books of this nature with no originality to set it aside. Buyer beware!
Please RateRal's Woman (Zorn Warriors Book 1)
She is only appreciated for her sexual capabilities and the alien race looking for a compatible race to mate with has found her human body lacking so she's given to the slaves to fight over.
The dialogue is kind of choppy and basic. It's almost like a caveman talking and having sex, but the book managed to hold my interest throughout the book.
It's really shocking in some ways but I found the storyline very intriguing overall.
