A typical economic collapse prediction book.

My brother asked me to buy this for him. If I'd known it was a typical economic collapse book I would have talked him out of it.

So he's been reading it and said 'I'm glad I only spent fifteen dollars."
The author advises you to put your money in a Canadian bank safety deposit box,
or put you money under the mattress !!!!!! ( that's what he said. )

Reminds me of a 1988 book, "1990: The Coming Economic Collapse". It was a spectacular best seller and no doubt made the author a millionaire. It was hogwash, of course. The 1990s were a great decade to be invested in the stock market. Microsoft was still going up forty percent a year. Warren Buffett first became a billionaire in the 1980s. He now has about fifty billion dollars. What economic collapse?

It's easy to write a bestselling book. Just write some tripe about the dismal future and the legions of worry-warts will run to you.

I can imagine only two kinds of people who would read this book: politicians and stock market investors.
I won't comment on politicians.
As for investors, I suggest any book about Warren Buffett. He's a smart man. There are too few smart people to ignore one.

He publishes another newsletter under his company called Retirement Millionaire where they say exact opposite-namely that the economy is in good shape and very stable. Porter is smart but has made a fortune crying- Fire!!! To scare older people into newsletter subscriptions. I get one under his name mentioned above which preaches exact opposite of this book. Not a scammer but a lot of hype to get people to buy newsletters. Remember folks this is guy who got rich with a scary internet and radio advertisement titled: END OF AMERICA 2012. Now we've pushed the date to 2020. Seriously, Porter?

Very educational. Good review of money management learned in college years ago. Even for a retiree with limited income. I liked the way complex economic concepts were explained in practical language.. I am using some of the advice given. It is a good read!! F.
Two Paths: America Divided or United :: The Coming Collapse of the International Monetary System :: Heart of the Sea (Irish Trilogy, Book 3) :: Spirit Bound (A Sea Haven Novel) :: Book 3 of the Expanse (now a major TV series on Netflix)

We suspect Porter Stansberry is preparing for the coming financial crisis by selling you idiots a book for $120.If he really cared about Americans, wouldn't he be selling this POS for $25. Is this really a SCAM ? FCC needs to put a throttle on this guy.

Standing up to bullies, Porter Stansberry edition
Hey folks, remember that defamation lawsuit that the proven securities fraudster Porter Stansberry opened against this humble corner of cyberspace earlier in the year? Well the news is...no news. First he opened the docket in late April, then came a flurry of additions, but since late July there has been absolutely nothing added to the docket. Not a sausage for 102 days.
And that's what happens when somebody who tells the truth about these scumbags stands up to them and is not cowed by their bullyboy legal tactics. These cockroaches suddenly realize that they don't want the truth about their scumbag ways to go on a legal record, they realize they'll just flush a whole bunch of their ill-gotten gains down the toilet in legal fees and, most important of all, they cannot win. And so they scuttle off out of the light and pretend it didn't happen, like the true cowards they are.

Literally common knowledge that is common sense and you can find for free online... Literally nothing new... It's a total scam. It's sad that this scam is supported by Ron Paul, who I thought was truly a champion for common American. It really is hard to find people to trust in now a days.

This book combines economics and investment strategies. The basic idea here is that our national debt of over $18 trillion and growing is going to cause some sort of financial collapse. We have never seen anything like this so it is difficult to predict exactly what will happen. The main problem is that we have a currency bubble, caused by the government printing too much money, which will affect the whole economy when it bursts. The title implies that such a major downturn will occur by 2020. If the Democrats win in 2016 this will be much more likely.

The worst scenario is a major economic collapse where dollars become worthless. The solution here is to be stocked up on plenty of food, water, and especially ammo. Having a farm would be the best hedge. But anything less such as a major recession or even a depression will present investment opportunities for those who have cash. Stansberry spends most of his time giving investment advice for such circumstances and in general.

Stansberry is basically a contrarian and believes there will be many bargains when various investment assets will be heavily discounted during a major downturn. He recommends buying corporate stocks and bonds from major companies with a good historical record (trophy assets). The best ones will be in fields like insurance, addictive products (such as alcohol, caffeine, sugar, fat, and nicotine), drugs (another addictive product), and natural resources such as oil and its derivatives.

First, let's dis-spell several of the more common overtly-simplistic negative comments made in the review section. You cannot just get this information online anywhere. Stansberry Research is a reputable organization that has been in place for sixteen years. Couple reviews say it's a scam. It states right in the book that the company is based in Baltimore. Most scammers don't list location. Also, the Better Business Bureau gives the company an A+ rating. In its sixteen years of existence, 74 complaints have been filed and closed, simple ones like billing, collections, delivery services. Nothing out of the ordinary. Moving on, one reviewer says that "the economic collapse WILL come," another "I believe we will get through it," when in reality NOBODY knows. If certain things are done, sure. But if they are NOT, no. Common sense. Either way, even the experts don't know for sure because it's a very complex scenario. That's why you take precautions. It's not smart to be either too skeptical or offhanded about the issues expressed in the book. So you can see the poor thinking of those reviewing. I run into inadequate, incomplete thinking all the time. It's my specialty as I teach it at colleges and universities as well as include it in the career / life program I sell.

There is important information in the book: corruption in politics, debt, currency, and mutiny of the dollar that few know about in total. Again, this is information I've studied extensively over the years, and it too is a part of my program: the basic of economics or common sense economics, the Federal Reserve, IRS, taxation, monetized debt, govt., the Constitution, etc. Critical information EVERY American should know, but few do. It also talks about how to diversify your financial portfolio which anyone should do at any time, but again, few do. So if this info. is so common, all over the Internet, as one reviewer states, why do so few know about it? What do you invest in? Gold, silver, real estate, stock portfolio,

Hell, I've been studying this stuff for a long time, but got the book. And I like it a lot. Not in love with it (5 stars) because I don't know, I haven't tried everything it's suggested yet. We'll see. I'll come back and let you know. Oh, also, there's a problem with the cost. I got it online for free. Imagine that? If it's a scam, why is the author giving it away. Just go here and get it. What have you got to lose? https://marketingassets.cloudsna.com/prod/common/PSI/NextPageLink/20150312132957.html

After being on this planet and living in America for all of my 60 years I don't need to buy this book to realize it is just another scare tactic like the nuclear holocaust that never happened. There was never a nuclear war because the rich don't want to die, and there will never be this bulls*** financial collapse because the rich don't want to lose their money. Just another way to scare the naive while the rich have a blast! Only buy this book to read at night while your searching for Bigfoot or aliens.
