Still reading the book. So far I enjoy the reading. The book wasn't what I expected, much older looking. But it is in great condition, it's brand new. Basically it's a brand new old school type of book.

Louise delves into health, fears, phobias, sex, self-esteem, money, friendship, addictions, work and intimacy issues. In her loving, caring way, she guides you through fifteen work"fun" chapters. I think this book is more fun than work. You will learn about:

1. Basic Techniques - Changing thoughts and releasing old beliefs about yourself.
2. Who Are You? What Do You Believe?
3. Health Checklist
4. Feeling Good
5. Fears and Phobias
6. Anger
7. Criticism and Judgment
8. Addictions
9. Forgiveness
10. Work
11. Money and Prosperity
12. Friends
13. Sexuality
14. Love and Intimacy
15. Your New Picture

You will find questions like: "What do you want that you are not having?" At the end of the first chapter there is a "Deservability Treatment" where you can read affirmations and perhaps extract one or two sentences for daily reflection like: "I am willing to create new thoughts about myself and about my life. My new thinking becomes new experiences."

There are many places where you can record your own thoughts about various topics like love, sex, work, money, success, failure and God. There is a place to write a story of your life and to draw a picture of your inner child.

The chapter on health might jumpstart a new healthy journey into nutrition and wellness.

If you want to pass this book along to a friend, you could also buy a small journal and make notes in the journal instead of on the pages. This book could also be used as inspiration for journal writing. This book gave me a great idea - to create an entire book just of affirmations. A lot of our self-talk can make us miserable or enlightened.

Louise L. Hay also focuses on reflection, meditation, visualization and relaxation. She presents a pathway to a more positive and fulfilling life that is filled with daily discoveries of beauty and nurturing elements. It is time to start loving ourselves more and time to heal our lives.

I am thoroughly convinced that this author consumed "special" brownies before putting pen to paper to create this lovely masterpiece of bull-crappery.
You don't like that blue wall? Believe it's red instead & it shall be so. You're unhappy with your current set of wheels? Bless them & release them to the universe so that you may magically receive a new ride. Feeling fat? Accept the wonder of your body & eat that Twinkie...but bless it first, obvs. That model body is as good as yours, honey.
This book will no better teach you how to love yourself than dancing naked under a full moon will make you a better cook. If you're in need of a good laugh, by all means, buy it. If you truly need help loving yourself, look elsewhere...like, anywhere else.

Reading this book may literally save your life...that is if you are willing to take the time to not only read the book, but do the exercises! No guarantees, but what do you have to lose? Guaranteed you will learn something about yourself in the process. Louise believes that our beliefs and attitudes about life are the seedbed for health or illness. While I do not believe her theory totally, I do believe she has much to teach us about how we can heal our lives physically and emotionally. I have found Louise's breakdown of illnesses and mental causation in her book, YOU CAN HEAL YOUR LIFE, to be "right on" in the majority of illness included. As a mental health counselor, I often recommend her book to my clients. For people who have major illnesses or are facing surgery reading and doing the exercises in LOVE YOURSELF, YOU CAN HEAL YOUR LIFE WORKBOOK gives you an opportunity to do something that could make a difference in your recovery. As you live from day to day, waiting for tests, going through procedures, and wondering "What's next?", you can empower yourself by learning more about who you are and how you might be contributing to your illness. Louise put her belief system to the test when she manifested a tumor which doctors recommended be surgically removed. She believed that if she had the tumor cut out without understanding what part she played in it, that her body would continue to create another tumor. She refused to have surgery and started counseling in dealing with her issues related to her tumor. Six months later, there was no tumor to be found! Also, she did no other form of treatment other than her counseling. Her personal testimony has been one of the major contibuting factors in my being an advocate of her work. We are fortunate to have such a gifted healer to teach us how we can contribute to our own healing process. I have found her work to be of great benefit to my own personal healing, as well; and would highly recommend anyone taking the time to participate in the healing opportunities provided in her workbook. You and your health are worth it!

This is an excellent workbook that helped me move through a very difficult time. I have read almost all of her works, and I love them. This book helped me move through some very challenging events in my life. I am forever indebted to Louise Hay for her gentle, loving words and insights.

As usual Louise has presented her wisdom in a easy to use insightful format. Her work over the years has gone from strength to strength and her theory of illness being a direct result of our beleifs and habits is an interesting one. While in some respects I feel this theory is only a part of the multitude of reasons for illness, it is never the less a very valid insight into how we manifest our lives. Do the exercises and I can guarantee you will learn something about yourself, and over time things will change. It takes time to restore the balance in our lives, however reading this book and doing the exercises is a part of the journey for those seeking to understand how their psychie influences their reality, and from that position it gives the reader insight through choices and awareness. IF YOU WANT TO WORK ON YOURSELF, THEN DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DEFINITELY INVEST IN THIS BOOK!! i have been clean/sober for over 22 years, so i have a lot of experience in "looking within" and "working on me". that said, i have to say that this is probably one of the better books that i have had the pleasure of "working" with! Louise Hay is a true GIFT to others and she has been BLESSED with the ability to share ways THAT WORK to help us take an HONEST, HARD, DEEP look within and find the answers to questions that may have been haunting you for many years... this book will not only answer the questions that you have, but it will give you answers to questions that you did not even know that you had!! this book is very "simple and direct", but at the same, extremely DEEP in where it can take you! if you want to learn "TRUTHS", and be free of all the garbage that you have been carrying, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND getting this book!! it is VERY EASY to read and follow. Louise goes through each chapter covering a different "area" that you may need help in, and then she follows each one with extensive "legwork" spelled right out for you in plain "step by step" suggestions! i could not say enough positive things about this workbook! i would give this 10 stars if i could!!

This workbook is filled with awareness exercises that can help a person immensely with their healing process. The exercises are designed to find limiting beliefs so you can create affirmations to clear the past and welcome the future you want. You can also do the exercises more than once and find new insights. I require this book for all my Heal Your Life training students.

Having read Louise Hay's book, "You Can Heal Your Life", I found this a natural extension and have benefitted from doind the written assignments. I think if used alone, it may not be enough, though. She is more indepth in the other book, but this one breaks it down nicely, and is a very user freindly format. Her writing has been a catharsis for much personal healing in my life.

This workbook has totally changed my way of thinking, and therefore has altered my life in such a way that is positive and I am so glad I happened upon the Oprah show in which she was speaking about her book, I recommend it to anyone who has stress in their life. Or just want to be able to get through the day to day 'stuff' that surrounds our society these days!!

I bought the whole "Heal Your Life" series, including this workbook. Its selfhelp, an interactive guide to start or continue your healing journey. In this one she tells her story and how she over came her past. My story is similiar, as I am sure most people that buy this book will say. It's a hard read (too many tiggers), but if you are serious about healing your past it's a great tool to have.
