Ben Winters' series is dark and depressing - it's about the end of life on earth, after all. This last installment brings closure for the main character and sets up an idyllic and very human ending. I enjoyed the trilogy.

This trilogy depicts so well how people would react to unavoidable apocalypse including those who want to continue to do good even if it is the end. Read it from start to finish. Read it with loves ones nearby because the book will break your heart.

This is the 3rd and final "Last Policeman" book. I was very much looking forward to reading it after having read the first 2, and I was not disappointed. I would suggest reading the others first as they set the stage well.

Very solid, very different mystery/crime story. If you have read the previous two books in the trilogy, you will find this a fitting conclusion to the story. If not, be sure to start with THE LAST POLICEMAN.

Excellent final installment in the trilogy. I found the first two books difficult to connect with, but thorough and exceptionally well written. The hero just isn't the kind of guy I'd hang out with and I often found his approach too confined for a guy who may or may not be facing his own death in a few short weeks. Yet, this book really pulls the themes together and creates a compelling story that pulls the reader along. It was worth waiting for.

The first book of this trilogy caught me by surprise. I quickly grabbed the 2nd and patiently waited for the third. I think I like them in that order, 1st being my favorite of the three, but it is nice to have a conclusion. And to see what makes people tick.

The story continued with many of the same characters. They were deeply woven in to the story line. The book seemed longer than it should have, (too many words to tell the story). It held my interest well enough to stick with the book to see how it turned out in the end.

This third book was very much the best. I thought it would be impossible to salvage the plot, because, because book two ended in a sort of riot, but it all turned out neatly. I think it is true that people would keep on scamming right to the end, because that's what they do!

This trilogy combines traditional first-person detective investigations with a speculative and convincing portrayal of likely responses to an approaching asteroid that will end the human species (at least). The prose is clean and swift, the characters varied. It's a good story.

Fitting end to the trilogy. Henry Palace is not a strong hero but his single minded determination is interesting. Once again the setting of the story with the end of the world pending sets this series apart.

This book was a quick read. The author captures the voice of his protagonist so well. I've enjoyed following the background story. I'd definitely recommended this book to mystery readers and apocalypse readers alike. Enjoyable mash up.

I don't normally read science fiction but I loved the Last Policeman triology. The writing was brilliant, & over the course of the books, the many characters introduced will live long in the memory. I look forward to reading more from this author.
