While I admire Sully tremendously, the book is just too long. It could have been half the length, it is very repetitive. I enjoyed reading about his career and of course it was great to read first hand about the water landing...that was spectacular.

Super book. This allowed me as the reader a view of Sully deeper than what I knew about him during the actual event. Sully is quite the man and full of what joy his life has given him and the moral code he lives by. Great read.

This is an amazing autobiography. It is refreshing to hear the story of a person who was so focused on his goal at such an early age. He kept a cool head in the situation he found himself in and remembered all the training when it was absolutely necessary. That he was able to land the plane in the Hudson river and no one was injured is beyond remarkable.

Well written and offers great insight into Sully's background and what made him able to accomplish his and his crews remarkable landing. A book that should be read by anyone with an interest in aviation.

Impressive reaction of a flight crew with so little warning or time to plan your next move. This was all reflexes when something went wrong. This is the power of good training and dedication to your profession. I would recommend this to anyone that has taken or plans to take a flight

Loved the book! Of course you get all the details about the fateful flight, but Sully has a lot more to offer than just a narration of of the events, Sully's entire autobiography is enlightening. Every young person should read this book to learn some valuable lessons.

Just having seen the excellent movie "Sully" with Tom Hanks, the books fleshes out the life of this wonderful American and Hero. Great reading and very informative about the life of a pilot. It is such a great read I am having trouble putting it down. I can highly recommend both the book and movie as a great weekend!

Excellent reading! Sullen burger’s method of narrative writing is just great. The best part to me is that he avoided political issues. No particular downside element or explanation comes to mind. All n all, a fantastic book to read.

Great read and a certain eye-opener how budget cuts impact airlines pilots and flight staff across the board.
I will have my kids read the book, as there is a lesson or two to be learned. Love the values that the book teaches.

A fascinating behind the scenes insight of US aviation. Sullenberger takes us through his history of military flying and also his life as a commercial pilot. What is clearly evident is his love of actually piloting aircraft and his quest for the optimal flying speed, angles and fight path. As a passenger, its great to know that the crew in the cockpit really do enjoy their work. After reading the book I am more aware of the interest the crew have in their passengers. The chapters dealing with the landing on the Hudson river are fascinating to read. It is clear that aircraft construction as well as intense crew training, education and experience all contribute to the outcome where all the crew and passengers survived. The incident is very similar to SAS flight 751 where there was also a complete engine failure after take-off, although for different reasons. It is so important that our pilots have the right skills and knowledge to deal imaginatively with these challenges. A great book.

Loved the way he would intersperse the actual events of the of the flight into the Hudson River with the story of his life. The description of the last minutes of the flight are second to none making use of the time stamps of the radio communications.

A wonderfully personal book by a man with honor, integrity, and many other values that are often missing in our cult-of-personality-rather-than-values society today. I long for more books like this, and more men and women like Sully.

An overwhelmingly human and close-up personal story of a low-profile and fallable airline pilot, quietly striving for perfection and safety in his jobs he loves, and then applying everything he learnt in that critical 3 minutes while he works out a solution to an unbeliveable problem that nobody else expected to happen. And after that, living with the consequences of becoming ridiculously famous :)

Better than the film, it fleshes out his life and makes the crash portion much more engaging. Watched the movie after reading the book and, as always, the book is much better. Portions of the film were exaggerated for dramatic effect.

I was impressed with Mr. Sullenberger's ethic and thoroughly enjoyed the book. His calm under pressure was exemplary. I'd highly recommend the book and as a matter of fact, I have already told two friends that it is worth their time to read this book.

I love details and background on events and people’s lives. This was a well-written story of a life prepared for such a moment. I enjoyed it so much. I keep telling my husband parts and he gets to read it now.
