A Treasury of Dick and Jane and Friends

We purchased this book for our 5 year old grandson who is just learning to read. He sat down with his granmother and started reading with her help. I recomend this book to all grandparents. We will purchase a copy of this book for our granddaugher when she starts learning to read.

I contacted the company I ordered this book from at the end date when I should have received it. They said they mailed it two days after I placed my order. The company has given me a refund, but I was really hoping to get the book.
I don’t want to give this book a bad review just because I haven’t received it and now I’ll have to try again. I’m debating about spending more money and buying it directly from the store or to try again through a different company. I’ve had great success from the store, but I only plan to use this book for a short period. Five years or less depending on my kid’s interest.

My ganddaughter will begin kindergarten this coming fall and is ready to read. She picked up this book and was reading right away. I was concerned about the dated pictures but that didn't seem to bother her at all.

Used these stories in the first grade. I already knew how to read and got in trouble for reading the whole book the first night they were issued. My granddaughter is still too young, but she loves the pictures.

This book has helped Spanish children love to read because the vocabulary is controlled and they can unlock or remember the words!! I gave this book to a friend (I have my own copy) to help her in tutoring Spanish children in the reading act! It's working; and they love to read because they CAN read!

I love this book. I'm home schooling my grandson who is in the first grade. He tends to be a visual, hands-on learner. He doesn't always pick up on the phonics although I work with phonics everyday. This book is filled with sight words which he learns more by the frequency in which they appear. It is giving him confidence in his reading ability. He will actually pick up this book and read independently. He often asks to begin his school day with Dick and Jane. Wanting to read and having the confidence to do it is half the battle in teaching a child to read. This book is really helping in that regard. In the meantime, we keep plugging away at phonics!

Our 1st grade grandson has to read for 10 minutes every night. We read from this. It is easy and it has raised his confidence so much. I learned to read with Dick and Jane and I'm happy to say my grandson is too.
