Thanks for the quick service. I have a program for Native American kids that buys the books to use while taking the class. The books are returned at the end of semester and the next student gets it for free.

A very helpful book the shipping was great it arrived on time. The book sepearates into smaller chapters that allow you to read a little at a time. Has interesting stories about the stuff they are talking about and have a website you can visit for more information or a review of the material.

the price is great considering the regular prices for college books, I actually like the loose leaf concept, I just put it into a binder and it works perfectly was in really good condition as well! Will definitely be buying from here more often!

Great textbook, and it's way cheaper than buying it a school. It is loaded with information. The only bad thing I guess would be that it's loose leaf, so it comes in a binder, so the pages rip out pretty easily.

Produce arrived via e=mail within hours of ordering it. It is priced way below what I would have paid through the publisher and is the exact same thing. Extremely pleased that I was able to find this bargain.

I ordered this book from the store for my intro psychology class. I ordered the loose leaf textbook because it was cheaper than the hardcover and paperback versions of the book. This was a huge mistake. The textbook I received had the holes punched in the wrong side of the paper. Now instead of reading like a normal book I must read right to left. This is extremely annoying and a huge hassle. I HATE this textbook...

Great book. I had no idea psychology was about people and animals, I thought it was a blood sport, should have known they wouldnt teach that in college...
It truly was easy to follow and fun to read. SQ3R is forever seared into my mind!
oh... I fell asleep. You know, was fixn to consolidate some info. The excuse to use at work after/during a meeting. SQ3R buddy.

As someone who had never taken even a token psychology lesson before, I found this book very easy to digest. The author frequently gives real-life examples of what he is talking about, making it much easier to follow along with the sheer amount of jargon that the field employs. The modules are fairly short, making for reading sessions that don't leave you with a headache. Myers has a sense of humor as well, working jokes into the texts as well as including popular comic strips that illustrate what he's talking about.

It seems that many other books in psychology do not offer information in such a broad and defined view to the wide content that creates Psychology as a science. I would recommend this book to someone instead of the For Dummies or Complete Idiots Guide series. The logic behind many concepts are shown in cartoons, pictures, and presentations. I would say this book, in many aspects, is descriptive.

This book includes the following:

- Diseases and disorders

- Cognitive science (learning, developmental stages, etc.)

- neuroscience/neurophysiology (schizo mind, neural connections)

- Psychophysics, which describe how the human body interprets information through their senses.

(THIS IS NOT IN A LOT OF PSYCHOLOGY BOOKS, VERY NECESSARY TO LEARN)

- Psychobiology and evolutionary genetics

For the beginning psychology student, or for someone who just wants to learn some of the basics, this is a good book.

I used to for a class and it is quite informative.

It teaches many of the psych terms and gives examples of how the ideas apply to real life. It also gets a little into the biological things having to do with psychology, but not real deep.

A few entertaining things are in there as well, like small comic strips to demonstrate their points in a humorous way.

Strangely, within the first two chapters this book references a few quotes from the bible. It also contains a quote from a man saying science isnt harmful to religion. Frankly, I like to keep religion out of my science. This book claims to be science and should keep it that way. If the author feels his religion is threatened by psychology he should find somewhere else to write his feelings. They are completely out of context and absolutely do not fit the needs of a science course.

As a student actually looking to gain knowledge from my psychology class, I really, really do not like this textbook. It is was too simplistic and the author frequently writes in first person. Similar to reading a People magazine.

I have never had a problem with the store.com before. But, this experience has made me ask around for other sites to buy my school books...that are more dependable. I didn't have time to order another book, so I have gone this entire semester without the required book...ugh!!
