This is an amazing book!! Christy Wright takes the guess work out of starting a business and creating an income stream doing what you love! She breaks down the process of getting started into easy to understand and achievable steps that anyone should be able to follow and succeed. Even if you don't yet know what business you want to start, Christy and the Business Boutique book will guide you through the process of figuring that out. I wish Christy had written this book years ago!!

Christy Wright is as gift to the community of women who want to be entrepreneurs! She gives practical step by step advice and pairs it with faith and encourages us to make it happen. She shatters the myths and lies that we have believed and helps us see that making money, doing what we love is a GOOD THING. Because of Christy, I have taken that leap and worked hard to begin making products I love. Because I also have more ideas than I have time, she taught us how to focus on one thing now and get it going. Then, after that, we can start to do the other things. She also explained how to do your accounting - how much to save for taxes, what profit is, etc.....practical things that someone like me needs to learn. Thank you, Christy Wright!

So excited about this book! I pre-ordered Christy's book, Business Boutique {and all of the other fun goodies that came with the pre-order deal!} and I can not wait to get it in the mail! But while waiting for April 17th to roll around, I was lucky enough to receive an early [eBook] copy...did I mentioned how excited I was about this release?! I started reading it right away and immediately fell in love with the way Christy wrote the book ~ she is so adorable and down to earth; she is totally speakin' my language throughout the entire book. I must add, I am not finished with it yet, I'm on Chapter 16, but what I can tell you is that I can barely wait for the hard copy of my book to come in the mail so I can read it over again {and again} and put my pencil and highlighter to the book and start seeing my small business plan fall in to place. Christy talks about overcoming fear when diving in to that thing you want to do and love so much; that thing you feel you were made for. The encouragement and the logistical approach she gives behind 'doing it scared' is so motivating, it will inspire you to want to get started right away too! Life is too short to feel stuck, and this book, Business Boutique, is just the thing I needed to push me through the point of fear and into the confidence of pursuing my God given talents. I'm still in the "Dreamer" phase, as Christy references in her book, but now I have a road map to help me identify my strengths and how to best put them in to a business plan. So with this book {and a lot of prayer} I will start workin' the process and steps she has laid out in the Business Boutique book, and then I'm headed to Nashville in November for the 2017 Business Boutique conference to take my ideas from dreamer to doer! If you're interested in pursuing your passion and don't know where to start....I'm tellin' you gals, this book is it!! Happy Reading!! {xoxo}

I pre-ordered this book after hearing Christy speak at her Business Boutique conference in Nashville in November 2016. Christy's message is the one I wish I had heard 6 years ago, when I started my blogging business on a whim--more as a hobby with a secret wish that it would eventually turn into a business that would generate enough profit to help support our family. My blog did become that, but after attending BB and reading BB, I have realized I missed several integral, foundational steps in starting a business. Thankfully, it's not too late to go back and lay that foundation, but I could have saved myself a lot of stress and burnout if I had known these things up front. What I appreciate about BB is that Christy's message is the perfect mix of spiritual and practical. She keeps God at the center, encourages women to always keep their families first, but she does so alongside of tangible, practical steps to help woman succeed at business. This book is a must-read for any Christian woman who seeks to glorify God with her business--and turn a profit in the process. (Even non-Christians will benefit from this book, but it does include plenty of biblical references--which, as a Christian myself--I loved.) I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I wanted to do this even though I had already paid for the pre-ordered book myself because I enjoyed the BB conference so much.

Being an avid follower, podcast listener and past attendee of a Business Boutique conference I wasn't sure I needed to read Christy's book. Attending did change my life, but I didn't think I would learn anything new by reading her book. When I got an offer via email to receive an early copy of Business Boutique, I figured there was nothing to loose.
I'm half way through and finding this book is incredibly valuable; especially if you've attended the conference, listen to her podcasts and are in the process of building a business. Even though I refer to the conference workbook I received a year ago, this new book helps me remember details that were lost in the midst of the massive information assimilation. The business building process presented and detailed are really helpful as I put all the tiers in place for my business. Any woman dreaming of wanting to have her own business, in the process of creating one or already finding success as a business owner will benefit from this inspiring and practical read.

This book has great potential, it really does. I'm on page 3, after having read the forward and introduction, and it's just not what I thought it was going to be. She talks about her mother in the first few pages, telling the story of how her mom got started in the cake business. What I'm having a hard time with is that she keeps saying her mom's "gifts" are what gave her the background to work for herself. I just don't buy it. I know that God blesses us with spiritual gifts, and those gifts manifest in unique ways because we are all different. I do not believe; however, that God blessed her mother with cake making talents. She was not born with the ability to bake and decorate amazing cakes. That is something she learned. It's a skill.
I'm not discounting the fact that she did take something she was good at and made it into a good business. But I seriously doubt that as a young mother with a 6-month old that she really enjoyed making cakes. I bet she would have rather been doing something else. I think that the true joy Christy's mother got from her cake business was the accomplishment she got from being really good at her craft. She had a fulfilling job because she got to do something that she had learned to love. There is no way she started out "loving" what she did. Christy clearly stated that her mother's first job when she was 16 was learning how to make and decorate cakes. The only reason that her business venture was successful was that she had the skills she needed to start right away, and she was lucky enough to stumble upon a business owner who could benefit from her business. I just don't buy the nonsense that you can take something you "love" and turn it into a business. It just doesn't work that way for most people. I'm not sure if I'm going to finish reading this book. At this point, I might just skim it and see if it's worth reading or not.
Like I said, it has great potential. If only Christy could get past the "gifts" and doing something you "love" and call it what it is. Most people that are living lives they love did not start out doing things that they loved. It just doesn't work that way.

Christy Wright has a heart for women with a dream. She has a heart to reach women who have a hope and a vision to start out on their own in business; to break away from the 9-5; to use their gifts in a way that contributes meaningful income; to work flexible hours at their homes or from another locale; to design the life they want around their values and on their terms. She recognizes that many people in her audience don’t have business degrees and so she gives a step-by-step plan for moving from dream to foundation to flourishing.
In this book she covers everything from overcoming fear and doubt (my personal favorite revelation here is that there is enough space for us all), creating vision and setting goals, tips for not feeling guilty about selling or getting paid, creating a structure for your business that helps you maximize your productivity, setting up operations, managing social media, establishing good business policies, and information on taxes, money, and legal issues.
These are only a few of the topics covered in the Business Boutique book. For me though, the most powerful messages in this book didn’t come from the excellent practical advice she gives on establishing and growing your business (though I took copious notes on those!). Rather, it’s in the way that she opened and shifted my thinking. At her heart, Christy is motivational, an encourager. She encourages us to really flesh out our dreams and desires. In a world without limits or fear, she says, what would you pursue? Do you want to stay at home with your kids? Do you want to have a national business? Do you want be able to support your parents? Do you want to end up on Shark Tank? She also encourages us to embrace what we love to do. She reminds us that the world is not a place of limits or scarcity, but one of opportunity and limitless possibility.
I received an early copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. In my honest opinion this book will help those who have a dream and are ready to take the first steps to turn their dream or their hobby into a business.

When I first started reading this book, I fully expected this book to be like all the other books I’ve read on starting a business, working moms, and similar topics, but I was delightfully surprised that Christy Wright’s book was so different. She covers many of the same topics the other books I have read cover, but she does it with such a different approach that it was very refreshing and helpful. She writes in a very conversational tone and uses many real-life examples, which makes the book easy to read. If you have read her blog and listened to her podcasts for a while, you will recognize some of the same stories and topics.
Probably the best thing about the book is that one of Christy’s greatest strengths is motivating people, and this book does just that. It’s hard to read a chapter without wanting to take action in your business immediately! I fully recommend this book to any woman who already has a business or who is thinking about starting a business; there is something in there that will help you no matter how much you have read or think you know.

Christy Wright has a heart for women in business and it shows in her writing. I went to the Business Boutique event last year and listen to her podcast often. Her book is a great summation of everything I learned from the event and continue to learn from her podcast. Being a part of Dave Ramsey solutions and having his endorsement doesn't hurt, either!
If you're looking for motivation and empowerment, this is the book for you. You'll also find a plan to develop practical things such as a business and financial plan. Much of the valuable information in this book were covered in the event I attended and in her podcast, but I could still see it being valuable to other long time Christy fans. I would recommend this book to any woman who wants to or has already started a business!

For any lady thinking of starting a business, or might be like me who just started and wanted additional guidance, this book is for you! Christy uses a cake tier analogy throughout the book for building your business one piece at a time. Filled with practical advice and endearing personal stories about the "why" of her personal business journey, you'll finish the book inspired and ready for action.
Although I received an advanced electronic copy of this book in exchange for my review, I also preordered a copy to re-read and reference.

No matter what stage you are in with your business - dreaming or doing - this book will offer you insight on how to start, how to improve, and/or how to grow.
I purchased Wright's book at her Business Boutique live event last November and was sent an advanced copy a few weeks ago.
The first quarter after attending her conference my sales doubled. She lays out a clear plan to build a solid foundation, market your business, and not sacrifice your family. The life balance section was something I definitely needed to hear. I didn't want to say no to anybody in fear that they would use someone else and never return as a customer. Then how would I ever build a business. But you know, I have said no and the customer either moved the date to fit my schedule or they used someone else. Some of those still used me for their next project and some did not. But I didn't feel guilty about missing out with my family and their project was better because I wasn't trying to do too much.
Your business will be better for you and your customers with the plan Wright explains in these pages.

I really have enjoyed reading this book, but I am biased. I have attended Business Boutique events and have been following Christy Wright for quite some time. I listen to her podcast and I have been to her website and I have attended two live events. Back to the book, if you follow Christy on social media or attend live events and listen to the podcast, you will read some repeated stories and information, which is great. I need the repetition. I just wanted to throw that out there for anyone who expects new content all the time.
I also want to say that if you have not started a business but would like to, this is a great book to read in order to get started. Building a business can be messy and overwhelming. I own a business and my husband also started his own business last year. We have used the guiding principals and ideas from Christy to better establish boundaries and find success within our businesses. Both of our businesses are service based, but Christy provides great info for service and product-based businesses.
Happy reading.

Business Boutique is a far better resource for entrepreneurs than any of the text books from my 4 years of college. Regardless of what stage you are in your business, this book will not only assist you where you currently are in the process but inspire you to take your business to the next level. Christy Wright's approach provides you with the foundational a tools to help conquer many of the struggles facing someone looking to start a business or take their hobby to the next level. She openingly shares her experiences and the lessons she learned from watching and helping her mother with her business. Christy addresses many of the issues and fears that typically hold back women from starting businesses or being successful and profitable. Particularly she offers insight into determining who your true customer is, using social media, finding the right platform to sell your product, and how to price you product. After attending Business Boutique and reading Christy's book, I see my business in a whole new way, I can look critically at the changes I need to make in order to be successful without beating myself up over some of the mistakes I've made. Thank you Christy for willingness to share your journey and now to walk along side and encourage other women to follow their dreams!

Christy Wright has nailed it with Business Boutique. The second chapter on working through your fear is worth the cost of this book, however she goes way beyond that and helps you get a more clear vision on how to make progress in your business using step by step guidelines. This is definitely a book I will reference many times. The stories are interesting as well and it gives the reader a glimpse into Christy's life and the fears she has overcome to get this far. A really good book and I highly recommend it! I pre-orderd the book via daveramsey.com and was able to read the Kindle version.

A friend bought the book Business Boutique for me. It laid on my desk for over a month, because my life is so busy (ya might say 'out of balance'). I couldn't make it a priority.
I live in Atlanta. This week Hurricane Irma came for a visit and dropped a tree on our power lines. Crashed them to the ground over our driveway. Result: I had a spiritual retreat for 3 days. I picked up this book read it by daylight and lantern light into the wee hours of the night. When the lights came back on my interior light had been rekindled in the process.
Someone wrote they felt this book was geared more towards Etsy businesses. She said she was service oriented, and it was not quite as helpful in that area. OH MY GOODNESS, how could she miss it. I am a non-profit Ministry (totally service oriented) and this book was 90% applicable.
I am the Director of Legacy Ministry that works with teens and the elderly. It is a calling born out of my life story. Legacy has been up and running for 17 years, but in the making for 65. I am now in a different season of life. The ministry took off the ground, because I had a need for my children and their grandparents. It called me to develop a youth camp and a service project that included seniors.
Mission goal: Bring Christian community together by bridging the generational gaps.
As a home school mom, church counselor, and teen leader with a vision... the ministry was developed around family: mine and my community. Fast forward, seventeen years later 3 of my 4 children are married, 2 grandchildren are in the mix, and they live out of town.
My life story has always centered around a cry to God, "Help me". The help showed up one season at a time. Now, the needs have expanded, and I'm not getting any younger!
The investment I have in what has been built up left me as the "CEO-- Chief Everything Officer" (quote from Business Boutique). Legacy Ministry is now alive and meaningful to many. However, I have fallen into being unmotivated, because the inspiration, time and energy to make it my main priority has been invaded by more demands. Those who receive so much benefit from the ministry need to start becoming more invested in taking it to the next generation. This has become clear!
Before readying Christy's book I had already set up an afternoon retreat (scheduled in October) for parents and volunteers to be more involved in taking a piece of the pie. How, what and who to pitch to was overwhelming. In the nick of time the lights went off and Business Boutique landed in my lap for 3 days! When you rely on volunteers it is very much like employing a person to carry out your dream. Business Boutique explains so clearly how to approach and consider the who, what, when and how.
From the very first chapter I felt Christy Wright has been with me all along. She came into my house and sat down to go through each chapter with me. She helped me identify, then instruct me in vital ways how to go to the next level. Her insight and understanding is God given.
She is so personal. Yet, her message is going out to the masses and still hitting a chord with multitudes..her understanding is not just personal...she knows business!
Christy, if you ever need an advocate to publicly stand before you and raise the roof in gratitude call me. You ARE doing what you have been called to do!
A campaign to go get your book went out to many woman as soon as I was through reading. It left me exhilarated and ready to spread the word.

Everyone woman should read this book! Turning your passion into a profit and making money doing what you love are just a few of the exciting insights that Christy brings to life in her book. I was first introduced to Business Boutique through one of Dave Ramsey's Smart Money event I attended in Nashville. I attended the Business Boutique and Ft Worth TX and my life hasn't been the same. Christy's heart for helping women to excel in their own unique way is amazing! I was given the opportunity to receive an early copy of her book and let me tell you ladies, it is a MUST READ! The transparency of Christy's life story and journey is not only encouraging but brave! Her truth inspires others to overcome the challenges of fear, doubt, and uncertainty. The step-by-step instructions for seeing what your unique gift is to the world and marketplace in my opinion is priceless! Her book helped me to SEE what I didn't see before. I am grateful that Christy conquered her fears and stepped out to write this book for women like me!

I received an early copy of Business Boutique and couldn't be more thrilled to have my hard copy on the way.
This book is a refreshing combination of research, personal anecdotes, and practical steps to launch a business. Christy is the mentor (and big sister) you never knew you needed. She takes the complexities of business, simplifies them, and leaves the mansplaining out of it. She prepares you with honest advice and real world scenarios to help you make each step as personal as possible.
Don't pick up this book if you don't plan to do some work though. This is not just a theoretical analysis on women in business - this is your manual for getting started. If you think you can skirt by with this book and without a business plan - think again. This is not just some frilly emotional boost for your side-hustle. This is real-world, business advice, just packaged in a way that's fun and easy to digest. Don't underestimate the level of commitment that's required here. And don't underestimate Christy's business prowess either.
Christy is passionate about women's God-given gifts and about inspiring them to put them to good use. She wants you to live the life you imagine for yourself, and to be smart about getting there. If you finish this book without some form of business plan in place, that's on you. Because this book really has the nitty gritty of what you need to get started. What more could you ask of a mentor? What more could you want from a book about business?

Christy's book exposes the fears every woman feels when she puts herself out there. There is no area in life where you feel more judged than in business...except for motherhood maybe. Christy addresses the feelings of inadequacy, jealousy, and vulnerability we often experience and then offers ways to combat these emotions. Her book also lays the foundation for a successful business by encouraging readers to consider every aspect, from the why of the business to its location to the financial mindset needed to prosper.
I highly recommend this book to any woman thinking of starting a business of her own or who has already begun the wonderful, yet terrifying journey of entrepreneurship! I received an early copy of Business Boutique and devoured it!

In Business Boutique: A Woman’s Guide for Making Money Doing What She Loves, you'll discover everything you need to begin living your dream of running your own business. Christy Wright walks you, step by step, along the road from “finding your why” (the reason you want to go into business in the first place) to identifying your customers and meeting/exceeding their needs and expectations… all the way to keeping your business in the good graces of the government when tax time rolls around.
Christy’s lived it. From her earliest memories, Christy watched her own mother live it. She knows how challenging it is to juggle full-time work and family and friends, manage a household and run a successful side business. She knows all about the little niggling nay-saying inner voices that derail our dreams and keep us from pursuing what we love. Christy understands how difficult it is to step out in faith and take that first terrifying step… her stories about perseverance in the face of fear and soul-crushing adversity are both heartening and empowering. And her personal stories (about facing even the small hurdles we women tend to turn into gigantic boulders in our paths) are hilariously human.
Having attended Christy’s first two Business Boutique two-day events in Nashville (in 2015 and 2016), I can attest that Business Boutique: A Woman’s Guide for Making Money Doing What She Loves distills the lessons presented – and keeps them close by as you need them. It’s like having a one-on-one session with Christy right at your fingertips; she’s there, coaching you and reassuring you at every step. And trust me – this is one book that won’t languish with all those ‘start your own business’ books on your bookshelf; it’ll be right on your desk, where you can access it at a moment’s notice.
Follow the guidelines laid out in this book and you’ll find yourself equipped with all the tools you need to succeed in realizing your dream.

It seems like over the past several months, many books have been written aimed at female entrepreneurs. None can compare to Christy Wright's Business Boutique. A clear, concise step-by-step plan that is written directly to the desires, fears, and setbacks that are uniquely faced by women. I would highly recommend this book to any woman in the business field - whether having your own business is just a dream for you, if you have just started your journey, or you have many successful years under your belt. Using Christy Wright's steps, I have grown by own business (Minnie's Travel Boutique - a Disney specialized travel agency) from $9,000 in sales to $500,000 in sales in under 2 years! (In exchange for my honest review, I was given an advance copy of the book to read)

I was honored to receive an advanced copy of Christy's book. For someone who is not quite sure what I am good at or what I wanted to do, this book was an awesome start-to-finish lesson plan in thinking through the process, getting over the fear and just doing it. I was inspired and amazed. Christy has a knack for talking to you like a big sister who has real-world experiences. The narrative is supportive, educational and inspirational. Highly recommend for "Dreamers" and for those who are interested in taking their existing business to a new level. There are a lot of useful nuggets. Keep going Christy. Thanks, Lisa

You guys: I cannot say enough good things about this book! I'm on Chapter 8 and wow! Unlike other business books I've read, this one is full of story-telling and personal experiences. She's very organized in her thoughts and easy to understand. I've been doing the homework after every chapter so that I can really soak in what Christy is teaching. All of the homework is really helping me to learn more about myself and how to play to my strengths through my photography business. I've been in business since 2009 and have found this book very refreshing!

This is an outstanding book. I have attended Business Boutique live events in the past and while they were fun and exciting the information was a lot to take in. As Christy says it really was like trying to catch a tidal wave in a teacup. This new book is a step by step guide of how to create, start and grow your business. I love that you can go at your own pace and the action items at the end of the chapters keep you focused. In addition to my own copy I bought additional copies for other ladies in my life. Definitely worth the price of admission.
Please note: I was given a free advanced copy for my unbiased review.

I attended a Business Boutique event and received an advance copy of the book. The book is everything you missed in the event and more! Christy Wright has thoroughly thought out every element of business and puts it in conversational terms that even an artist, like myself, can understand. I have gone from being depressed and discouraged about ever doing what I love to actually doing it each and every day. Just because of the information in this boutique, my life has changed in a matter of months and I am so happy doing what I love!

As a small business owner I was excited to receive an early copy of Business Boutique. Christy Wright is delightful in her writing as well as in person. I was able to attend her Business Boutique conference in Nashville in November 2016 and was thrilled to get to read her book. She has lots of practical information and it's FUN! Christy has years of experience as a speaker and business coach. Whether you are new in business or have many years under your belt, you can glean from her book.

Awesome guide with great information, motivation and direction for success. I was blessed to read before official launch.
I have recently relocated from TN to New England and left behind a successful eyewear business. I've started basically from scratch in unknown waters due to my husbands career at Shriners. The words from Christy that keep echoing as I'm attempting to slowly paddle through optical offices ...."there's room for you too." We all need a cheerleader. The timing of reading this book was priceless to my mind and heart. Gratitude!!!

This book gives you step by step instructions how to get your business started. I got this as an ebook, and now that the book has arrived, I am going to highlight and write all over this. All these instructions, are written for me and you. I attended Business Boutique in November with my husband (he was one of 12 men there) it was very enlightening. I learned SO much. I am attending again this November, and will have new questions, pertaining to starting my business. This is worth it.

I have the audiobook and it was amazing that Christy narrative. Seemed like she was sitting there talking directly to me. The book content was power packed with great information on how to start a business. It was not too technical so the person with no business experience could completely follow and understand. I highly recommend this book for those who are thinking or have just started a business. Even those who been in business for some time could probably gain from reading it.

I was going to multitask and listen to this audio book while completed household tasks. But that simply didn't work. I was inspired to take notes, complete these action items and "ice my tiers". Christy speaks with humor, grace and common sense that is not only inspiring but motivating. This is not just a book on business. This is a book on personal growth. I am not just excited about the future of my business, but well on my way to accomplishing my dreams.
