A Death in Vienna (Gabriel Allon Series Book 4)

One of the best in the Gabriel Allon series. Highlights the problems the Jewish people had in several areas during and after WW2 along with a plot that is rivoting. For some reason this was the last of the series that I read. Perhaps saving the best for last!!!

I have just recently discovered Daniel Silva and began reading his books in order.
I have discovered that the Gabriel Allon series can be read as stand alone novels, but they are best as a series.
This is 4th in the series and Silva stays true to the story all the way through.
A good read

Great perspective on the Final Solution that killed 6 million Jews. Justice will never be had but this book helped settle a few scores. Man's inhumanity to man can never be justified but this book helps you understand the evil that perpetrated this injustice.

I happen to like Daniel Silva. His Gabriel Allon series is like those of John Sanford and John Lescroart. The plots are always different, the characters fully fledged out, and each book is hard to put down. I am happily retired so I can stay up all night reading and not have to put these books down. Great reads, all. Hooray Silva!

A Death In Vienna reunites super-spy Gabriel Allon with the cast of characters we have so embraced through Silva's recent works. When a bomb goes off in an obscure War Claims' Office and the Austrian government's investigation is curiously blasé, a certain art restorer tries to put the pieces together and discovers billions of dollars hidden by the Nazis.

Fantastic book. The Allon series is so interesting and with all that is happening in the world it gives the reader some insight into what it is about and the thinking that is going on. I have read all of the Allon series and will order the next one when it is available.

This was a great book. Silva really shows his historical knowledge as well as creative abilities with the tie-in stories of the holocaust. I particularly love the way silva shows Gabriel in a light where he is not infallible but still good enough at what he does that he can complete a mission he starts.

Daniel Silva delivered again. This is one of the best series that I've read! His character Gabriel Allon is so complicated and Mr. Silva writes him so well. So well that I have go e back to the early books to better understand the series and character since I started in the middle.

Daniel Silva's books are amazing. Just when I catch my breath from the last book and start another, I realize here we go again .
The writing is exciting. He weaves a tale with twists and turns. You never know what to expect.
I'm starting book 5 today. I'm sure I'm in for a great adventure.

Gabriel Allon series is terrific. The plot twists, but is believable. The Israeli position in my estimation is correct. The author's notes at the end of the book are great, provides insight into the fact and the fiction of the story.

A very good book. Loosely gave accounts of what happened to millions of the Jewish people during the war and an attempted cover-up by many, including the Church. Though much of the book was written with fictional characters you can read between the lines. I enjoyed it and other books written by the author.

This is an excellent fictitious account of real events. I selected this book and my rating to insure that everyone understand what did happen, how it happened, where it happened and to whom it happened. For anyone that truly believes that this did not happen read the book.
One final piece that you should understand - for those that believe no explanation is necessary. For those who do not believe, no explanation is possible.

Daniel Silva's books are exciting, fun to read, and informative.His plots take place in the big cities of Western Europe, and I have been to many of the places he writes about. Great fun! His characters are interesting and complex.

This is a fascinating work about the capture of an important SS officer who's job was to conceal the death of many prisoners in the concentration camps. Erich Radek managed to survive the War and become an important businessman in Austria. He served US intelligence by being part of the Gehlen network. To add another twist to the story, his secret son, was the leading candidate of a rightist political party running for Chancellor. Lot's of excitement and quick page turning.

I have been reading Silva's Gabriel Allon series of books, and the only negative thing that I can say about them is that they are almost impossible to put down. They aren't fine literature by any means, but they ARE a lot of fun to read!

Daniel Silva created another thriller with "Death in Vienna". Mr. Silva is adept at both the writing of novels and the intertwining of history. This was another great read in Silva's Gabriel Allon series. Now on to the next one!

I read four Silva novels with Gabriel Allon as the protagonist. They are complex, jotting from city to city and with a gajillion characters. since I have been to many of the cities, it is fun that Silva gives so much detail.
