Definitely worth the time . Start slow so you can get another characters. By the end of this yes you want to keep going now you need to know what's going to happen with Miles, Charlie and the rest of the gang. Never so happy when I found out Norma got what she deserved. Now I'm ready for round two .

I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend. It's a little different than others and I've honestly read too many of this genre. Mr. Humphreys gave us well developed characters that reacted to their situation in ways that made us like them (or not). I hope that we see another book with these same people. I'd like to know how their lives changed and grew. I'm positive that I'll be watching for more books by this author.

What would you do if zombies evolved just when you thought they were at their end? Daniel Humpreys does a great job at telling an exciting tale. Great charecters and action.

Definitely recommend checking out this book. Pace goes up and down, builds suspense, let's you relax, then pounds you again. Several stories intertwine, separate yet connected plot lines. There were a couple of things that were left hanging, and could be completed if there is a sequel, but this is a stand alone story, with a good wrap up. Kudos to Mr. Humphreys.

With the deluge of poorly written and cookie cutter zombie novels, it's tough to find one that doesn't make me root for the undead. This book was one of the recent few. Good storyline and characters...looking forward to reading more from this author.

It"s eight years after The Inevitable Zombie Apocalypse. Survivors in a settlement are doing well, the zombies are weakening and life is close to normal. Odd how there are shadows in the woods. Odd how the military showed up. Odd how there's a drug problem again. Odd how the town marshall is needed to get some files off the servers at his old job.

I really enjoyed this one. It was well thought out and portrayed people accurately. The surprise of what was animating the zombies was an interesting twist on the age-old debate "what makes zombies tick." The only disappointment was when i realized i was 97% finished.

WOW! What a ride this author pulls you in doesn’t let go. You have a vested interest in the whole town and all the action was nerve racking.I couldn’t put this book down. Can’t wait to read the next book.

Would be an appropriate name for this book. At one point there were so many people in danger in different places I didn't know who to worry about the most. The children on their unauthorized field trip nearly scared me to death. Great read !

I have indulged in quite a few post-apocalyptic books, not to mention post-apocalyptic zombie books in my time but this book (and series) is by far the best.
Solid story with a solid plot and an excellent array of characters brought it all together for me.
Looking forward to more from Mr. Humphries!

Really enjoyed the book and could not put it down.
In the show The Walking Dead characters act stupidly to further the plot; in this book the characters act reasonably: none are perfect but their failures reflect the way real people act and react. There is no stupidity just to move the plot forward.
I highly recommend this book.

Slow start but the quality of the writing kept me reading. Mr Humphreys writes with confidence and his characters are well crafted. The plot is slow to develop but the destination is worth it. I look forward to more from this author.

Very well written and detailed which makes it easier to get the writers perception of the story. Once the action picked up, he keep me wanting to read, and when I had to stop reading, it was like waiting for the next episode of a really good tv show, you just couldn't wait to get back to it to find out what happens. I recommend this book and the story was great!!!!

I'm an avid zombie apocalypse reader, some are good, some are bad, some are really bad and make you wish indie writers had requirements. Very few stand out in my mind. A Place Outside the Wild stands out. Really grabs the reader and drags them along with the story.

Too much jumping around to become invested in any character. I made it about 30% through the book before the shifting perspectives pushed me away. There are people that clearly enjoy this writing style but it is not for me.

I almost abandoned the story in the beginning. Too many characters that I couldn't get to know made it very confusing. It started kinda boring too. But I stuck with and it got better so in the end I can say it wasn't bad just not the best zompoc I've read.

I have thoroughly and immensely enjoyed this book. It was so hard to put it down! I found myself carrying my Kindle around while trying to cook supper. I would highly recommend this book to any of my fellow zombie lovers. It is a fantastic book!
