This was a great read, both inspiring, but heartbreaking at times it was a book that I believe will help lots of people for sure! Lyssa's story was real, encouraging, inspiring, hopeful, sad and unique. Definitely will share this book

I really enjoyed reading this book, but I feel that as a child too scared/confused to tell the truth about the rape, forgive & let go. Dad certainly not perfect himself. HE says where mercy is shown, mercy is given...just not to his family I guess. If you are a fan, then this is a "must read".

wow, just WOW!!! What an incredible book. I must say, Lyssa is such an amazing woman to have lived through this nightmare and came out on top. I have to say however that I did lose a lot of respect for Beth in the process. She obviously has a lot of resentment towards Dogs kids. It appears as though she sees them as baggage and "in the way" so to speak. I now have a better understanding of why Dogs kids really do not like her... totally understandable. It's clear that Beth puts on an act for the cameras wanting people to believe she cares for these kids when in reality she obviously doesn't. Kudos to Lyssa for having the courage to be so open and honest. She is proof that you can defeat the odds! Having a mother that was so out of touch with reality (to say the least) a stepmother who really doesn't care for her and a father that was mostly absent, it is amazing she has turned into such a wonderful and inspiring woman!!! Lyssa deserves nothing but happiness and the very best in life Keep up the good work Lyssa!!!

She has had quite an interesting and crazy life. She has turned it all around and working on becoming the best Lyssa Chapman that she can be. She is a devoted mom, and a wonderfully spiritual person. Very uplifing story

Good Read. Could have been better as far as punctuation goes. But I don't feel it's fair to rate and review someone's life story, which was interesting. And happy for her and her family. She kept the faith and came out on top!!

While I am sympathetic to Lyssa's difficult childhood, I too, found she took too little responsibility for her choices and put too much blame on others after she'd been given several opportunities to better herself and her child's life. Even after her success on the show, she continued to abuse drugs and alcohol while she had custody of her children. I actually have more respect for Beth after reading this book. While I can see that she is very controlling and certainly not always easy to deal with, you have to look at those she was dealing deal with and bringing into her home and around her children. I also agree the book tended to be a bit slow and repetitive. However, I wish Lyssa the best in her new endeavors, only the very best for her and her girls.

This book was an honest account of Lyssa Chapman. She admitted her mistakes that were caused by living a chaotic, traumatic childhood and has turned her life around. She has worked really hard at making better choices in her life. Kudos to Lyssa!

What a horrible life this young woman had growing up. The love of the Lord has brought her through to a better time in her life. God willing she will continue to grow and raise her girls in a better environment than she was given.

Ok I believe lyssa chapman was very brave to write this book and share it with the public.. From one addict to another until you stop blaming others for your actions you will never be truly sober.. Your mother passed it you didn't have to smoke it. Your present was left for you in the bathroom but your mother didn't force the straw in your nose and make you snort it. Your father well if it wasn't for him and Beth you would still be in a car. There are several people who do not have a support system at all. Although you may have your difference with all the adults in your life your age sure shines through with the blame game. I wish the best for you and your family but mostly I pray that you wake up and be grateful for what you have, because you could have nothing.

I know this may sound harsh I'm sorry for that but I can't help it the truth hurts.

I'm your elder over fourteen years and from my eyes your still newly sober and sound much like it!!

It was a quick & entertaining read. There were a few obvious typos & timeline contradictions but if you watch the show it does fill in a lot of blanks. If you like the Chapman's (Dog & Beth, I do!) this book might make you angry or defensive of them.
