There is something appealing about all of the books I have read by Rick Riordan. Whether you are a child or an adult, he always manages to communicate with all audiences. He develops his characters, and makes you care for them.

I confess I do not enjoy the Egyptian mythology series, The Kane Chronicles, AS MUCH as the Greek mythology series, Percy Jackson and the Olympians, or the other new Greco-Roman mythology series, The Heroes of Olympus. However, I do enjoy all of these, and I think they are excellent for all ages. He is enriching our interest in ancient mythologies, and making us look at all mythologies in a humorous way.

This second book of The Kane Chronicles is a little darker than the first book, but there are still plenty of hilarious moments, some comic relief I found timely. New characters are introduced, and we are brought in contact with previous characters, some of which we were not sure we would see in this installment. The new characters span a continuum from good to evil, and bring elements of comedy and tragedy.

I will not give the details of the story, but if you have read the first novel, you already know Apophis, the deification of chaos and evil, is rising in this novel. You may already know, also, that a particular god must be woken if Apophis is to be properly opposed and the balance preserved between Chaos and Ma'at.

This book is highly recommended for anyone with a sense of humor that also has interest in ancient cultures and myth.

In school I mostly studied Greek and Roman mythology, but this is a chance to learn more about Egyptian mythology. The story of the brother and sister is compelling and easy to read. I hope that Riordan continues the saga of the Kane siblings for the enjoyment of me and others.
The Kane Chronicles: The Throne of Fire :: The Graphic Novel (The Kane Chronicles Book 2) (Kane Chronicles Graphic Novels) :: Evergreen (The Blockbuster Best Seller Now a Spectacular NBC-TV Series by the author of the best-selling Crescent City.) :: The Spectacular Now :: Percy Jackson's Greek Heroes

before print I was waitting for the this book, this adventure was a bit longer than the rest. I did enjoy all the action sceens, and what i like is that after reading to find that all the stories are based on real gods of history, and the stories are ones made from legends. I have learned alot of gods and their temples, and if forgotton they end up in reitirement nurseing homes.Well i recomend this book and was just as nice as the frist book.

My son loves the Kane Series. He really enjoys this book and the interaction between Satie and Carter. There is plenty of action and excitement as well as some learning about the Egyptian mythology and culture.

Yet again Riordan has created a "great work of art". I thoroughly enjoyed the action and excitement that was well balanced with grief and sarcasm. I hope anyone looking to read loves this series as much as I do!

I would reccommend any of Rick Riordan's books to young readers looking for an educational and entertaining read. His mixture of ancient mythology and current times is brilliantly executed. I even found myself going back to some of the old myths to read them again from the source!

I have already read and own the entire Kane Chronicles books. I have never read them on a Kindle, so now I can write a review. I loved this book so much and honestly, I think it was the best. I love how Rick Riordan took the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series and twisted it with new characters to make it Egyptian. I loved this series so much and I wish Riordan would write more in this series!

Although the books are big, this is a really fun, fast moving series. I sit down to read a chapter, and before I know it, I've read 3! The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of five is because the main characters are not as endearing to me as the Percy Jackson books. Still- a fun read.

I have been anxiously awaiting this book since reading The Red Pyramid. I've had it pre-ordered for months so I was super happy when I finally received it.

What can I say, Rick Riordan is an amazing author who writes incredible books. The Throne of Fire is an amazing sequel to The Red Pyramid. I love the way that he is able to use his novels not only to amuse his readers but also to teach them about Egyptian mythology. He literally brings the gods to life and I love it!!

The Throne of Fire is full of action and adventure that immediately captures the readers attention. It's full of humor. Sadie and Carter really create most of the humor by the way they phrase their observations and the various names they give things. I really enjoy their relationship and how real they seem especially when they are teasing each other.

Riordan has once again created exceptional characters. The secondary characters are well developed and I loved learning more about them. The new gods that we meet are wonderful and so much fun to read about!

Once again Rick Riordan has written an amazing book and I can't wait to read the next one in the series.

I love these books! Easy reads and Mr. Riordan is excellent bringing you into the action without over-telling the story. Other Authors could learn a lot from his books. Rated as a Teen book is accurate but anyone ages 10 and up could enjoy these.
