I love Heather Graham and have read almost everything she has written. My favorites are the Krewe of Hunters. This one did not get a 5 star rating for 2 reasons. One, I dislike novellas because (#2 ) the characters and or story line can't be developed properly. This is just my opinion.

I just adore the Krewe of Hunters novels! I have read all of them. This one was great also. I love the way 's Graham picked up with the last couple to get together. This story had enough paranormal aspects to make it really hard to put down.

WHEN IRISH EYES ARE HAUNTING: A KREWE OF HUNTERS NOVELLA BY HEATHER GRAHAM

I have not read any of the other Krewe of Hunters books, which it looks like there are at least 14!

The Krewe hunters are an elite paranormal investigator unit of the FBI….just like the X-files we are all so familiar with. So this story focuses on Devin Lyle and Craig “Rocky” Rockwell who are on their honeymoon to Castle Karney in Ireland. There is a ghost story about Castle being haunted and a curse of the Banshees wail which happens at midnight as death strikes.
Devin has the ability to see and speak to the dead, so they are here to investigate the sudden death of her Uncle Collum. Devin meets Deirdre who is called to help man pass from the darkness and to embrace the light. She indicates that Collum was not yet to be taken, which means that he was in fact murdered, but who could have done it and who stands to gain from his death. Everyone who is an heir to the castle is a suspect, but after those few people it will transfer to the government. Rocky is convinced that there is no Banshee wail, but it is made by some mechanical device so he calls in a couple of the Krewe colleagues to help with the investigation.

While I enjoyed Devin and Rocky’s story, unfortunately I did feel like I missed something about them from the previous novels. So I would recommend reading them in order so you can appreciate the full development of the characters. That being said this did read well as a stand-alone. There was enough suspense to keep me interested in who was the real killer and like any good plot it was the person you least expected! To find out you will just have to read and try to put the clues together as you go along.

REVIEW:
I have only read one other book in the Krewe of Hunters series. I really enjoyed this quick mystery. Craig “Rocky” and Devin are a fun couple even we trying to solve a mysterious death.
Ms. Graham keeps us guessing on the who done it part all the way until the end of the story. I had my guess as to who it was. But the way really through my off. I am looking forward to reading more books in this series.
