This is another amazing read from the prolific Michio Kaku. He is an inspiration to all aspiring scientists, researchers and explorers! Read at your own peril as you will not view 'impossible' as so impossible after finishing this treaty to human ingenuity and imagination. It may prove to mind expanding for the cynical or pessimistic!

Michio Kaku is becoming my one of my very favorite authors. This book delves into the world's of science fiction and explains the possibilities of the advanced technologies or seemingly impossible human capabilities your favorite sci-fi tv shows/movies portray as standard living in the future, past or alternate universe. From the transporters, warp drive or time travel in Star Trek, to to laser guns, death star and hyper-drive in Star Wars. He breaks down whether they fall into the realm of possibility while adhering to the laws of physics. A great read for any sci-fi nerd and amazing to find out how far we have come in obtaining some of these technologies and goals already. As always, Dr Kaku makes physics fun and exciting. 5 stars!

Kaku is the Jules Vern of today (early 2000s) and is fastly taking the place of Stephen Hawking and as the Theoretical Physcist of Today
His predictions of the future will probably be better than those of Jules Verne were in his day.

Not what I thought it would be. He seriously analyzes a wide range of real world issues, and explains the related physics on a level that is readily understandable by normal people, such as I claim to be.

Whoa, just when you thought you had your mind accepting the Big Bang, Kaku jump-starts your imagination with some of the things that are not only possible, but probable. This guy is great at making un "good 'ol boys" understand the concepts of advanced physics. Read him and learn the possible of the impossible.

The style in which it is written, each chapter addressing a different topic vs. novel-like, adds to it attractiveness. I can pick it up and just get lost in the concepts it presents to me and the physics, while well beyond my education, are not a road block.

Very good book for inquiring minds. Dr. Kaku is a genius and does a great job of making this book easy enough to understand but not too simplistic. Nice balance for those who have a curiosity about such things but not a background in physics.

Dr Kaku clearly distinguishes what we knew then, know now, might know in the future, and may never know. He draws on history and sci fi to demonstrate progress and potential. Very helpful for one who studied Physics in the middle of the last century, but alas, I still couldn't quite master it all.

Liked the book quite much, though the editing does leave room for improvement. Things are repeated funnily and there are long paragraphs in parentheses that clearly would not need them, they are so essential to the preceding text.

A really interesting book for science fiction writers, it shows us a brilliant and great future. However I think a big mind like Michio Kaku could have gave us a deeper and consistent vision of the future and the role of the science.
