This was a very interesting and exciting read. I think I read all 4 installments in just over a week. I liked the way the story progressed
early on and involved into a riveted story line that had me reading early and late. There were a lot of surprises along the way and enough
plot changes to keep me intrigued all the way until the end. And a glimpse to the future what could happen with computers in the near
future and its kind of frightening. I highly recommend this book

The writing seemed rather amateurish and it turned me off enough that I didn't continue reading past half of the first book. The plot may have been rather interesting, but some of the action and plot development is so cheesy I just put it down after my third reading and never felt the urge to pick it back up. This is really unfortunate as I'm a Sci-Fi lover and cyber-hacker worlds are really fun for me.

Code Breakers is a very enjoyable series; however, after the first two major twists with key characters, I was able to predict exactly what would happen to them. Parts of the series were slow, others fast. The end was a bit too neat for my personal tastes.

Good read with lots of action. Good story line but just left unfinished at the end to make me think there could be a fifth story to come. I previously read the first book and then found the 4 book series and read it all.

A really fascinating and intriguing novel I have read in a long time.
The initial introduction to the idea of technology integrated into humans made me a little uncomfortable.
But overall great narration and a good fantasy novel.

This book feels like is was written by multiple authors. At times the prose is lovely and at others hardly English and poorly edited. As a futurist Barns is inconsistent veering from clever to sophomoric. Never the less it is an expansive tale and worth the two dollars I paid for it.

I really enjoyed this series. I believe as outrageous as the story line might seems, I believe we are moving toward these kinds of technologies where we embed technology into our bodies. Anyway, this series is fun, entertaining, and easy reading.

Not sure why this series gets such high reviews. The overall story concept is OK, but just too much thrown in (especially at the end) when the author tries to wrap everything up. The dialog is cheesy, the writing style overall seems amateur, and any attempt at emotion between characters is painfully forced. I can't believe it is compared to William Gibson in the description. I wouldn't recommend this series to anyone.

The story itself is pretty good, I actually think it would probably make for a good sci-fi movie. If you can stay focused on the overall story, it's an enjoyable read. If spelling and grammar errors get to you and pull your mind out of stories...you might want to hesitate on this one. There are also a few plot holes that can be distracting. There are references to back story like you should know them, but they never occurred in the book.
POSSIBLE SPOILER: Another example of inconsistency was Gerry and his 'modifications.' It's really only toward the end of the series that it became an issue, but the writer went out of his way to continuously remind the reader that the 'clone Gerry' didn't have the modifications that the first Gerry possessed. Then, in the last few chapters, the writer refers to Gerry's optical enhancements and his HUD.
The spelling / grammar / consistency issues were enough for me to dock one star. Aside from those (which really should be easy to correct in a book that is only available electronically) the story itself is good and kept me engaged.

interesting story that held my interest most of the time. I liked seeing what the author was going to come up with next and the technologically enhanced humans and inner workings of their minds were particularly interesting. My favorite character was Petal.

I don't normally read fiction anymore, usually just biographies. There was something about the cover of this series that spoke to me and it did not disappoint. Colin did a great job keeping the read in the dark so that each turn caught you off guard. Definitely recommending this to my friends and family.

Good premise. Lots of action. Tedious repetition of protagonists being caught by the bad guys, tortured a bit before escaping. This happens every few chapters, so just expect it. Too many deaths of innocent and/or sympathetic characters. A few get to be "resurrected" in later books, but that is just annoying. If you cannot count on the finality of death in novels, then what limitations are there? I quickly tired of non-stop failure, non-stop crises, and read for the occasional passages where the good guys outsmarted the baddies and prevailed. The end of the fourth book was relatively satisfactory, but by the time it came, reading had become a chore. Others may like it better, since there are very few lulls (not a lot of long passages of introspection) that interrupt plot flow.

As a fan of "Neuromancer" and the "OtherLand" series by Tad Williams, the "Code Breakers" series seized my node and didn't let go until I had DEVOURED it.
Now I'm off............to further ponder, "What is 'real' and what is 'simulated'...........?"

Fun ride overall. Moments when I thought Gerry was just too good to be true. Loved the Petal character. Felt like Gabe got a little shortchanged. Would've liked to see more of Enna's back story. Appreciated the overall pace

Normally it would be difficult to keep the quality of writing, plot interesting for a story spanning 4 books, however the author kept up the intrigue and suspense to the end.
