I have really enjoyed the Knitting in the City series by Penny Reid with her strong characters and clever plots. I find myself laughing and even crying at times during each of these stories. Ninja at First Sight is a wonderful introduction to Fiona and Greg's story. I pre-ordered Happily Ever Ninja and waited impatiently for its release.

After reading and loving Scenes from City, I was so excited for getting more of Fiona & Greg. This novella just added to my excitement and love for this incredible couple. It was funny, sweet and had me smiling throughout every page. I am anxiously waiting for January 16th for the full story of one of my favorite Penny Reid couples. 5 Stars!

Really love this series, but was actually dreading this particular story (well, the one that came after, but I also wasn't sure about the origin one). Was glad to discover that my fears were misplaced. Very interesting characters and a great back story to set up for their full story.
Beard Science (Winston Brothers Book 3) :: Another Shot At Love (A What's Love??? novel Book 1) :: The Player and the Pixie (Rugby Book 2) :: Happily Ever Ninja (Knitting in the City Book 5) :: A Philosophical Romance (Knitting in the City Book 4)

Having read the other Knitting in the City books, I have been waiting for the rest of the series. This intro novella just cemented my desire to read the rest of Fiona's story, Happily Ever Ninja. I love Penny Reid's characters: each one is unique but written about in such a way that I "get" them. The relationships (whether friendly or romantic) are realistic and hilarious. I usually shed a few tears from heart touching scenes and side splitting fun, in each book.

Writing this because it's the best short pre-quel/novel i've ever read. After reading the initial four books I wasn't expecting this from Greg and Fiona but I have a feeling they will be my favorite couple, which is hard to imagine considering this whole series is amazing.

I don't normally like stories about young young people. She is 18 and he is 23. However, this story is mature and delightful. They meet in college and fall in love. He is witty and smart while she is brilliant and sweet. Great minor characters in this story as well. I hate that it's a cliff hanger so I'm off to read part 2.

I have long known that Penny is AMAZING! Reading her books is a little bit like home. You live in her stories, and a connection is formed like an old friend. Ried ups her game with Fiona and Greg and has won the Super Bowl because guaranteed you will love these characters and will be on the edge of your seat for the next book.

Based on the book description I put off reading this book but it was great. I should've known better, I pretty much love all of Penny Reid's books. She has a way of telling a story that gets you hooked.

Before you start reading this book, make sure you have a large full box of kleenex. You will instantly identify with the fustrations of being in a long term relationship whether it that relationship is romantic or not. This story reminds you why humans seek out companionship and create families and communities that do not have to be tied together by blood. It acknowledges how you can truly and fully love someone and still want to throttle them. I want to hate this story and file it away in the "could never happen in this reality" bin, but I can't. I know I'll be coming back to this story for years to come.

A nice story with a few too many stereotypes playing supporting roles. This is labeled a novella and it did seem like the Reader's Digest Condensed version. Leaving in a bit more of the backstories would have rounded this out into a better story.

Ms. Reid has become one of my favorite reads. Her books are formula but with well developed characters, cute plot twists and just flat out funny! Don't normally bother to review all the books I read but hers are worth my time to review so others can find them and get a good laugh.

The romance in this book mainly comes clear from the witty debates of the main characters. The characters are real and have pasts that slowly come clear. I enjoyed the book. It is stand alone, and also starts a second book of the same characters.

Loved everything about it: characters, plot, dialogue. My only objection is that it feels implausible that an eighteen year old would express herself in such an articulate and sophisticated manner. Had the characters been ten years older it would have made more sense.

Really fun read. Laughs and a sweet relationship between two winners. i would like to read more of their story, but have to buy the next book to do that. I knew it was in a series so that was not a surprise. This was good enough I just might buy the next one.

Greg and Fiona together are just too sweet. I could feel their attraction just pouring from the pages. I thought I had other favorites by Penny, but this one has taken the cake. The ending of this story blew me away. The continuation is already preordered and I CANT WAIT!!

This is the prequel to Happily Ever Ninja (Book 5). It is awesome and you should read it prior to reading Book 5. It really makes the full story much richer and I fell in love with Greg in Ninja at First Sight. You really can't go wrong with buying this book.

Sigh! I have another book hangover! I love Penny! Her writing just draws you into the story. Her characters are believable and lovable. Now I have to wait a WHOLE month for the story to continue! ? I curse you, Penny, and your wonderful writing.

I will read anything Penny Reid writes. She creates real characters with deeply individual histories and personalities. She doesn't write the same heroine and love interest every time there is no formula except great characters and fabulous intelligent funny dialogue. I recommend her to my friends. This is a great author. Give her a chance and you won't be disappointed.

Really good. Love hearing about the other characters from the knitting group. However, for college students, they were amazingly verbose and deep. Sometimes I found it to be a bit unbelievable. But I still loved it.

Both main characters are so intellectually and individually suited for each other, both attractive and fully competent, with admirable and unexpected skills. A truly fun and enjoyable journey with wit and wisdom. :) Includes rather lovely descriptions of eyes, runner builds, and philosophical debates on animal rights in bestiality, ideals, and, of course, love.

Penny Reid is an excellent writer! Her characters are fun and so easy to love! Her women are always strong & intelligent! I love how the couple grows together and takes things slow. There is no crazy drama that has your throwing the book....just a good plot with good characters. Love Penny Reid books!

Having read the earlier Knitting in the City books, I'm already familiar with Fiona married with kids. Reading about an 18 yr old Fiona is a gift I'd like to thank Penny Reid for. I loved every word of Fiona and Greg's romance and now obsessing over the release of the "Happily Ever Ninja".

Loved how real the marriage arguments seemed in the heightened situation of the suspenseful story line. It was a good comedic foil and it seemed like it was written by someone who knows what it is like to be in a long term, committed relationship. It was very real, while being action packed and funny and I loved it.

I really like this book. I like the socially awkward but quirky and smart female lead. I like the witty banter between her and the male lead. This was so good, I have to get the next book. Penny Reid write's a great story. It is refreshing to read her work.

Another awesome book by Penny. The best quality story - complex characters, insanely creative conversation ( I wish I could be as witty as these characters!), heart-felt emotion. I have read every book by Penny and had been anxiously awaiting this installment. It does not disappoint.
