Although this book can be read alone, I recommend that you read The Hooker and The Hermit first. They are both awesome with wonderful characters! Penny Reid is my favorite author and she has the ability to make you laugh and swoon all in the same paragraph. So sit back and enjoy!

I preferred the first book in the Rugby series but this one wasn't bad. The pixie kinda irked me. I wasn't a fan of her character and it made it hard to get into the book. BUT the writing was brilliant and I love Penny <3
Happily Ever Ninja (Knitting in the City Book 5) :: The Cad and the Co-Ed (Rugby Book 3) :: Grin and Beard It (Winston Brothers Book 2) :: Dating-ish (Knitting in the City Book 6) :: Another Shot At Love (A What's Love??? novel Book 1)

This book seriously got me! From the first few pages until the end, I was 100% into it and loving every second. Lucy is a great character, and yes, she definitely has her flaws (drove me crazy a few times, but I think that's normal when a character has realistic flaws!). Sean....what can I say about him? He's a super hot rugby player who's so cocky and straight up alpha....except he's got some bedroom "issues". This may have been my favorite part of the book. Oh, and he's not really a nice guy. Now here's the thing, when you have a character who's not "nice", they usually redeem themselves and everything is great in the world. Sean does have redeeming qualities, but he still maintains the person he really is, which isn't necessarily nice, but it's not mean either.
Anyways, both of these authors are awesome! The writing is great (be prepared, it's SMART writing). It's hot (these author's keep writing hotter and hotter, in my opinion). And, to top it all off, there's a ton of emotion in this book. I'm not a huge crier when it comes to books, but this one got me a few times (not over the top crying, but a couple tears). I walked away from this book with a smile on my face and truly happy....except I want more from Penny and L.H!!!

so good...... Penny Reid is a superstar writer and this collaboration with LH Cosway is so fun to read! The only bad thing I can say is they included a teaser for book 3 in the rugby series and now we have such a long wait!

Reid and Cosway. A wonderful combination. The story is delightful with all its banter and many likeable characters. I cannot wait for the audio book, hopefully with a wonderful narrator like the first rugby book. Good Irish accent please.

Lucy has problems......
Her mother makes her life absolutely impossible....She never seems to be pleased with her. Whether it be her job, hair, appearance, or her non existing relationships. Her mother is constantly judging, wanting to change her. The pressure of not being able to please her, has caused Lucy to have a compulsive disorder to steal. The risk and adrenaline rush she feels from stealing, seems to alleviate the constant pressure she feels from her mother.
The only light in her life is her brother Ronan...He's her rock....And he's also a professional rugby player.
Like Lucy, Ronan has a thorn in his side as well. It's his arch nemesis, rugby teammate, Sean.
Sean would do anything, in his power, to make Ronan's life miserable. From trying to get him suspended. To having an affair with his now ex-girlfriend. Sean is tired of all the attention Ronan gets. He's perfect to everyone. And he's taking away his thunder. He's sick of walking in his shadow.
Even though Sean finds Lucy kindhearted and attractive. He decides it's only suitable to treat her in a rude, condescending way. After all she is Ronan's sister. So when he bumps into her and discovers she's stealing. He loosely blackmails her into going to dinner with him.
As their encounters continue, Lucy feels as though Sean is misunderstood. One part sympathizes with him. But the other part is EXTREMELY attracted to him. He's a tall, lean, handsome, blue eyed Neanderthal alpha male, with a bad boy type of attitude.
What woman could sexually resist him?
No man that perfect could be a disappointment in bed!
He must really know how to take care of a woman (if you know what I'm sayin).
Right?????
Well the tallies are in. But, you must read it yourself to find out.
Sean is such a great, relatable, leading man. And, he carries all of the traits that a leading man should have. He's cocky, rude, and stubborn. Yet, vulnerable, insecure, and extremely romantic at the same time. His honesty in his feelings. And his overall change of character was absolutely SWOONWORTHY.
The Player and the Pixie did not disappoint. Penny Reid and LH Cosway both have a unique way of writing. Reid's leading ladies are usually misfits...They're not your "a typical," women who attract men. But, she brings out their inner beauty so well, that our leading alpha males cannot resist them. And LH Cosway has a playful way about her writing. She knows how to perfect the friction, humorous, and bickering of her characters....So the two of them working together is nothing less than perfection.
Thank you and please read

This was another fun story by Penny Reid! Her writings are highly intelligent and insightful. They'll leave you laughing hysterically at one liners and then turn you around and broadside you with heartfelt endearments, welling up the peepers.

This book had me laughing out loud! The authors are in touch with the way of the world today, and it was refreshing to read about such an unlikely match for a couple. Lucy's feeling are also completely relatable, for myself at least. I will definitely be reading the rest of the rugby series :)

This is an awesome series by really strong authors (Penny Reid being my favorite author). Strong and interesting characters with a storyline that is new and not played out. Can't wait for the next book.
