Loved these books growing up. Sachar was my favorite author, and now I am trying to introduce my younger sister to his books. Though I am thrilled that I got all his books for twelve bucks, but I am a little upset with the awful looking art on the cover, I wanted to get the older cover with just the picture of the building.

I bought this boxed set of Wayside School books for my granddaughter's 6th birthday. She is an avid reader and well advanced for her age. I knew she would be able to read them but wondered if the context would be above her age level. Her dad thought they would be wonderful books for them to read together at bedtime to her younger siblings. We got a call from her 2 weeks after her birthday to tell us she had read them all and loved them. I was so happy they were a hit! They were fun books for my sons and daughter and they still continue to entertain.

This exhilarating and humorous gem of literary work is an elementary school teacher's blessing. You can use this book as an introduction to teach reading, math, science, etc. This book revs up the excitement and motivation in a classroom.

I purchased this set of books after my puppy chewed up the teacher's set.
My grandson is not an avid reader. This set of books was something he enjoyed reading. Such silly nonsensical stories. Very entertaining to stop and ask "what does that mean?" or "how can this be?"
These books are best if shared together.
