I love Kristan Higgins' books. She always has a good story to tell. There were at least three different stories of people with problems--problems not that uncommon. All three of them made me think about what I would do, should I be faced with the same problem. The dialogue is witty and funny and I cried more than once. There were supporting stories worth listening to as well, all woven together beautifully. I really loved the book!

I loved this book. Kristan Higgins just keeps getting better. Her books are funny and heartfelt, have depth and characters you really care about. I look forward to reading even more of what she has to come in the future.

Excellent read! Higgins has such a great way of getting into her characters’ heads! Lots of great twists and turns and real life thoughts, feelings & experiences. It was a great story and going back & forth between characters via alternating characters keeps it fresh. You want to keep reading. So happy I have discovered this author. I really enjoy her voice and style of writing!

This book is truly fantastic! It was one of those books that I just could not put down, and I had to force myself to stop reading long enough to take care of some of my responsibilities. At points in the book, I was crying (both noisy tears and the silent, dripping kind), only then to turn around a little later to have a little laugh. It was so easy to relate to these characters, sometimes seeing a little of myself and other times seeing a friend or loved one coming out in the characters' reactions to certain situations. I felt torn, both wanting to find out how it ends and never wanting to get to the end because it was just too good. It was beautifully written, and I highly recommend it.

This was such a beautifully told story. Of love, imperfections, humor, infidelity, friendship, family, loyalty, forgiveness. The author made me feel like I knew these people and cared deeply about them. It felt so real. I'm sure there are many reviews that will give you a summary of the story. The heart of the matter is just that. All heart. I love Ms Higgans' writing!

This tale takes the reader into two sisters lives and explores love in its many forms. The details make it gripping and heart-wrenching. All the characters are so detailed that it's like they're alive and very likable neighbors. I enjoyed this during the second reading as the first. Highly recommend it!

I absolutely loved this book--- in fact I marathon read this in one day. I needed a book to read - read the reviews, decided to purchase the book on my kindle--the first paragraph I was settled in and ready to meet the characters. I love the way Kristan Higgins writes, I wish I could put my finger on why I love her writing rather then another authors writing . The flow of the characters and how they inter act ..along with their stories just get you from the beginning to the end. I laughed as well as cried, because the characters are so believable. I will be honest Daniel the "Hot Fireman" at first did not really fit into the story, but as I hung in there he then began to grow as a character. I love the way he was brought in and slowly he appeared. The sisters (half sisters) I absolutely loved, -Ainsley and Kate are wonderful - Kate had me laughing - Ainsley had my heart-- I hated Eric with a passion but understood where he was going when he had the "breakdown"- becoming a real bastard. Jonathan's personality slowly came out -- but I feel like I never understood where he was coming from. Bottom line I could not put the kindle down until I came to the end, then I went back to the store and just purchased another book-- "If You Only Knew" which I have started and it looks like I am going to marathon read today.

The story revolves around two sisters and the men in their lives. The book is deep and rich, but at the same time manages to be funny and original. There is a set of triplet preschool sisters who will steal your heart. I heartily recommend this book.

I love Kristan Higgins - her writing is charming, and quirky. If you can, you should follow her fan page on FaceBook, because she posts the funnies things there - often just as hilarious in real life as in her books! Frankly, you could just simply sign me up for every book Kristan Higgins writes as they come out because they're all fantastic.

This is a wonderful story about sisters, women, love, life and our tremendous ability to not only survive heartache but to emerge stronger. I liked the chapters switching between Rachel and Jenny because it made it difficult to put down. I am a new fan of Kristan Higgins.

The story was good and the characters very likable but the constant use of the "F" word was ridiculous! The use of that word just shows the lack of class and intelligence by the person using it in this case the author. I will never read another book by Kristin Higgins!

Dear Ms Higgins, Please take a meeting with one of those ridiculously prolific writers that crank out about a thousand books a year. I love everything of yours that I've read, and I would truly appreciate more. Thank you.

Enjoyed this book a lot!! The further I read, the more I liked it, and could not put it down. Higgins is a funny writer with a gift for characterization and dialog. She also surprised me with one or two plot twists. Although this is chic lit, it transcends the typical romance novel.

Great novel by Kristan Higgins. Heavier and less fluffy than her early works, but I appreciated that she's tackling more serious themes these days. This one and On Second Thought are more about the journeys people go through to regain their balance after serious upheavals.

Need a good cathartic cry? Enjoy negative emotions? This is the novel for you. The author is well written, sarcastic, witty and funny at times - that's the reason she gets a star. This is my first Kristan Higgins book...and my last. Holy cow! The mother is verbally abusive to her daughters. Rachel's husband is a cheater...nothing else...just a cheater oh yes...and a liar. Jenny's husband fell out of love with her but insists on keeping her close even though he's remarried and has a child with the new wife. Jenny meets a man who is so scarred by his past that even when he reaches out to her, he warns Jenny he's still very tethered to his dead wife. And those are the good parts. This is the most depressing novel I've read to date. If you only knew...that the characters all need therapy.

I didn't care for the coarse language, even though it was usually in a character's thoughts and not in the dialogue. That made it difficult for me to feel comfortable with the characters, and left them outside my own circle of friends.

Kristina has written a great book. There's more depth than Kristan's other books. Rachel and Jenny are sisters who are going through a lot of struggles. Real life issues and how they get through them. I laughed, cried and at times wanted to slap someone. Love to have stories about the triplets. Loved Leo and Jenny!

Two sisters who have experienced much in love and life. Jenny who is divorced but still friends with her ex and new wife and Rachel, a mother of triplets, who discovers her husband is cheating. Kristina does a great job of weaving in humor in a story that could be too heavy emotionally. Great read!!!!

I know it should be obvious that a novel classified as "romance" is about love, but rarely do you such a beautifully written book dealing with all kinds of love. The good, the bad, and complicated. The mix of emotions is so real you feel like you have climbed right into the novel. I couldn't put it down!

Kristen Higgins is one of my favorite authors. She always invites me into her world with a smile, like an old friend who's been away and has so many great things to tell you. And the crying? That's just a lovely bonus.

You just cannot go wrong with a Kristan Higgins' Book. I preorder all her titles, they never disappoint. And she's my go to for rereads when I am out of books! Witty writing, solid characters, wonderful stories. Just what I need to relax.

I love all her books but this one was different. This book was more serious and emotional than her previous books. It was still a romance but that was just a small part of book. I feel like it was really her sister Rachel's story. It felt very real and honest. I really liked it but it was unexpected.

I loved this book!!!! One review I read said once she started she couldn't put it down. Well that is the truth! I couldn't get anything done all I wanted to do was read it. I couldn't wait to read about each character. I didn't want it to end. Love all her books. Cannot wait for the next.

Not your typical romance book, Kristan Higgins has written a deeply moving story of people you know. The sisters who love and support each other even if they don't see the world in the same way. Those who linger in their lives past their expiration date and those whose lives have impacted the ones they would love today. I've long been a fan but she's advanced beyond anything she's written previously with this wonderful story.

Congratulations Ms. Higgins on your transitioning into a more mainstream story. I just finished reading If You Only Knew and the story will stick with me for several days. To date this book has been my best read of 2015. I'm looking forward to more books from you in this vein.

I loved Kristan’s latest book, If You Only Knew. It was a change from her usual light romantic read but just as entertaining and showed more of her writing talent. She is gifted and draws her readers in right from the first page. Kristan makes the characters so real that you love and hate them, and you root for them too. Kristan’s books are something I so look forward to each night after a long day. And when I finish the last page, it’s kind of like I’ve lost a friend…..until her next book comes along!

I haven't read anything by this author before, but took a chance because of the positive reviews. Loved it. It was realistic in that nobody's life is perfect, nobody is perfect, but we love our family & friends anyway and hope to be loved in return.

Welcome change up. Love this author - realistic - down home feel. Funny, sad, human emotion - expressed realistically. 2 sisters, one grieving mom, ex-husband that can't let go, tragic loss and older faitful friend...what more American can you get. Good job Kristen!

I was hooked at page one! Perfect. Amusing dialogue, fast pacing, true-to-life angst. It's cliche to say that I laughed and I cried, but...yeah! This is my first Kristan Higgins novel...but she's now an Auto-Buy Author for me.

I love pretty much anything Kristan Higgins does (including her newsletters and her Facebook posts), but this has to be one of my favorites. The characters in this one were so well-defined and descriptive, I felt like I was living their lives -- deep, meaningful, mature, relationships that break your heart, and also fill you with love.

Love Kristin Higgins! She is so very good at dialogue. I can hear her characters voices. She has such a gift for character building. This was a good book. I didn't like shifting back and forth so much from main characters. I also didn't get Leo at all.

Kristan Higgins never fails to deliver. I've loved all her books and always look forward to the next one. While the stories may be predictable (they are romances, after all), her characters are always likable and I'm rooting for the positive outcome. I think Kristan Higgins is one of the shining stars among romance novelists.
