This true crime is heavily viewed through the victim's family. Although their anguish clearly inspired the investigation and prosecution, the real hero is law enforcement that doggedly persisted to the final resolution. If criminals facing justice gives you peace of mind, you'll sleep well after reading this book.

The book was good, however there were a few typos. The event was very detailed. I live in the area and know where these places are. It bothers me to know that this was going on practically in my backyard.

The true story of a murder orchestrated by the man she married but even at the age of thirteen knew there was something she didn't like about him. A story of lies and deceit and the end of the short life of an " angel" taken from her children and family by a man who professed to " love" her. Diabolical is the best word for him.

For a true crime book, this moved along without losing my interest. However, much as I found it interesting, it was rather long. My main observation was that in the eversion, there were many typos. To a grammar lover, this can be annoying.

This book had a good storyline. The problem was it could have easily been at least 50 pages shorter. There was a whole lot of repeating of facts. After putting so much time into reading about the trials the book kinda ended abruptly and left you feeling unsatisfied.

This book started out good enough but after awhile something about the way the author was writing the story bugged me and when I finally figured out what it it was I started to lose interest in the book. I thought the authors assessment of the victim and her family a little unrealistic. If you can get over the fact that the author painted this family as the most perfect human being s then you will probably like the story. I couldn't and it ruined the story for me because there is no family that is that perfect and that insulated from the world. If he had included just a couple of flaws that the victim and her family had I would have liked the story better. This author managed to find the only family in America with absolutely no flaws or shortcomings.

Bosworth's impeccibly detailed account of the murder of Elizabeth DeCaro and the ensuing pursuit of justice is both heartbreaking and compelling. For fans of mysteries and courtroom dramas, this true life account makes for an absorbing read.

This sad true story grabs you by the heart strings and keeps you wholly absorbed. If you didn't realise before why relatives spend years and years out of their lives, exhaustively seeking justice for the murder of their loved ones, then you will when you read this book. It's an eye-opener, giving detailed accounts of injustice, emotional effects on those closest to the victim, court procedures and how law enforcement and legal systems work (and how they don't work sometimes). Full marks to the detectives on this case and to the brave people who sought justice for their daughter and a more stable life for her children (although, with the case dragging on, I'm not sure this part was fully achieved). I kept barracking for the good guys and that made this book very tense.
