It is definitely a "light-hearted" story. More Stephanie Plum and less Columbo. The "witch" aspect of it is fascinating and keeps the plot twists interesting, because not only do you have the "bad guy" but you have the "bad guy is a supernatural."

Things are heating up as Jill tries to conquer level one spells. The reader learns more about each person in this second book as several "cases" challenge Jill. Poor thing is so busy in two worlds trying to learn spells and sleuth at the same time. Yet, she prevails in her own way. I think this will pick up more steam in book 3 than did book 2 did after book 1. Opening book 3 next. Try this series out!

This book has a good storyline and great characters. However, I'm American and had trouble with some of the names for things used, ex. Hob. I figured it out through context, so it wasn't too offsetting. I will finish the series because its fun.

The author continues to write in her easy, breezy style. I thought this would grate on my nerves because, after all, people are murdered in her stories, but, no, I did not find this to be the case in this second book of the series. I did like how the author kicked it up a notch with the main character, Jill. She seems more real emotionally, not as nicey-nice. Loved the snarkiness. Keep it coming!

This picks up where book 1 left off and Jill is still finding her way in her new life. Her sister is always dragging her to stuff she hates and a murder occurs at an event she attends. Trying to get the killer right even when the police get it wrong again, juggling witch life and maybe finding a handsome wizard? A good sequel that keeps you entertained.

I like everything this author writes. She always has a strong female character with a loving boyfriend & the whole book incorporates a good sense of humor. These are a quick read & I like to read them pretty much all at once. Don't like to have to put them down to attend to some mundane chore!

Another great work by Amanda m lee. The series flows together so well that I cannot wait for the next one. This particular book lowed the reader insight on the younger years of the main characters. You understand the dynamic of the female characters slightly better than before.

Number 1 I usually don't read books with vampires and or werewolves, sharpshooters in them. This particular series so far has not presented those type as the main characters. However, should they become more prominent I probably will discontinue reading. I believe in witches and warlocks because I know a few and in talking and being around them I have discovered that they are not like the portrayal put forth on most books.

A new witch living in a human world (sshhhh! It's a secret!). It's difficult enough trying to live in one world but two?! This book has humor, relatable characters, and a wonderful plot. I can't wait to read the next book in the series!

These are great little books. Easy read, very light and entertaining. And I really like Jill. She stands up for herself and what's right.
Gave 4 stars due to poor editing. (Missing, partial and misspelled words)

I disagree with most of the other reviews and think that the secondary characters help this book a lot. I think that Jill is a complainer and hates everything. Without the other characters I think she would be completely unbearable.
