A novella in the World of Kate Daniels series that keeps the pace going and the great writing flowing. Dali is a white tiger with magic that helps balance against black magic. She adores Jim, a werecat and Chief of Security for the Pack in Atlanta. Dali and Jim go after whoever is using magic to terrorize or kill owners of a building in Atlanta. And that is all the plot I am willing to leak. If you have read any of this series, know you are in for a fast ride full of action, weres, spells and dating jitters. If you have not read any of this series, do it now.

The ultimate date night flick with pages to turn - Plot? Check. Action? Check. Characters both magical and real gritty? Check. Humor in the face of a fledgling relationship? Check. This book follows in the tradition of the other sensational fiction created by the team, known as Ilona Andrews. Thanks

I love that Ilona Andrews is willing to flesh out an already rich, well thought out universe such as Kate Daniels'. Here we get another close look at Dali and Jim. It's fun to see a glimpse of Jim's warm side and Dali is just a joy!

I've loved all of the Kate Daniels books, and this one didn't disappoint. Kate is developing well as a character - exploring her heritage and her abilities. The tension between her and her father is finally at a tipping point, and Kate has only one chance to save her husband and her unborn child. It's an exciting ride, and I love the dynamics among all the characters. I never thought I'd like a dark priest - but somehow Ilona Andrews has managed to make me change my mind. Of course, if you're to this book in the series, you hardly need me to tell you that you need to buy this book. :) If you're new to the series, go back to the beginning - do NOT start with this one!

This is a short story about two characters from the series. Originally published in a collection a few years ago it is published as a stand alone. The Andrews team has been publishing old shorts. It is a solid story about Jim and Dalia and their continuing romantic relationship while fighting various magical dangers. If reading for the first time it is a pleasant short. If upset that you bought an old story I suggest you pay closer attention to what you are buying.

Great new story about Dali and Jim and how they go through their biggest fears to get to Happily ever after. Fairly quick action packed read. It's not a stand alone and would be enjoyed most if you've read at least the books that are about The World of Kate Daniels. 5 ☆'s.

Must read if you didn't read the Night Shift anthology published in late 2014.
It's partly my fault for not reading through to the very end of the blurb hidden behind a read more link. At least the notice of previous publication wasn't on display in the bottom of a locked filing cabinet stuck in a disused lavatory with sign on the door saying 'beware of the leopard.'

This was a very good story. This takes place while Kate and Curran are out of town and Jim has been left in charge of the pack. He and Dali are dating but can only get together infrequently. Dali likes Jim a lot but because she has a low opinion of her self worth, she has no hope that their fledgling relationship will last. Thankfully, while her lack of confidence came up a few times but it really isn't the focus of the story.
When Dali gets called in to help with a curse that's threatening a family friend, Jim goes along to help (although it's more to spend time with her than anything else). During their subsequent adventures in dealing with the curse, Dali (with help from Jim) realises that she has a lot more to offer than she thought and I was happy with her personal growth. I liked Jim in this story...we get a bit of his personal stuff and I loved how he has was with Dali. The story ends with Jim and Dali heading towards a HEA together.

Oh, how I adore Jim and Dali together. They're so very different and oh, so right for one another. Plus, Jim's decision to let Dali take the lead in how their relationship progresses makes me all mushy inside. For such a big, scary dude, he's awfully sweet to his lady friend. *draws glittery hearts around them*
This time around, Jim tags along when Dali goes looking for a missing woman and he gets to see a side of Dali he's never seen. Her ability to counteract evil is pretty impressive and Jim's acceptance of that side of her cemented my adoration of them as a couple. Not to mention, Dali's fears about not being a strong enough mate for someone like Jim were given a perfectly thought out answer by the big, silent cat.
Loved, loved, loved Jim's approach to outing them as a couple to Dali's family. It probably wasn't quite as amusing for Dali, but I got a giggle out of it. As for Dali's fears about her quirks interfering in fights, the lady did what she needed to do and she was pretty kickass when the chips were down.
Not going to lie, I could go for more novellas starring these two. They work for me on quite a few levels.

** Originally read in Night Shift **
We are taken back into the Kate Daniels world with Jim and Dali. This is in Dali’s POV. If you have not read Magic Dreams (Kate Daniels #4.5) you might be a little lost on the relationship between these two, since they hook up in Magic Dreams.
We get to see Jim and Dali dating and Dali’s fears that she is not powerful, aggressive or sexy enough of a women shifter to be an equal to Jim. Jim shows Dali that she is everything he needs and that them becoming mates will not hinder him, but make him more.
I loved following these two around as Dali does her magic thing again. She is one special white tiger. Jim I love him. He see’s Dali as so much more then the skinny vegetarian who wears glasses.
This was a fun read and I always love diving back into the Kate Daniels world. The writing team of Ilona Andrews are just Fabulous. If you have not picked up this series it’s a must!

I loved this novella that featured Dali and Jim. I’ve always found Dali to be fun and interesting. She’s quite a bit different from the rest of the shifters…especially Jim, but that has never stopped her from being a vital member of the pack. I love the relationship that they have. This was a great stop in the Kate Daniels world that featured characters I wish we got more time with during the full-length novels.

A wonderful story of Dali and Jim that was just too cute. So out of the norm for Jim that it was good to see a different side of him. Great writing with a story that will make you smile. A fun addition to the Kate Daniels family and friends. Happy reading.

Really fun novella with Dali and Jim. Of course it is very well written since it came from our favorite wife and husband duo and is full of win. 5 Stars for the writing and 3 stars for the price. 2.99 for a novella under 100 pages is too expensive for an ebook.
