This is the truth and review ofthe 2nd Amendment. It is time the truth is told and not the lies from the government. This is what the founding fathers really meant! I would recommend this book to anyone who loves America and wants to save their country.

Outstanding! Everyone should know this information whether or not they own a firearm. Once one reads the background of our rights, they will understand that our founding fathers meant for this freedom to remain part of our constitution. It should not be taken lightly.

My husband wrote a paper on the Second Amendment while finishing up his history/social studies degree. Finally, someone comes along with a book that shares the same simple, clear understanding of the Constitution and its Amendments! People wishing to infringe upon the right to gun ownership often play around with the grammar to try and make this simple statement mean something other than its straight forward message. Unfortunately, they are usually missing a depth of knowledge of the grammar and linguistics of early America. This is a great book for anyone wishing to get into the history behind the construction of the Constitution.

Excellent book about the 2nd amendment. Anyone who does not understand the true meaning of the 2nd amendment should read this book, especially those who are determined to take away the freedoms we were given by out founding fathers and by our God as blessings to this wonderful country.

Every item I have ever purchased from David Barton has been concise, fact filled, backed by solid sources, and worth every penny to purchase and read! Some books are small in size and can easily be put in a purse or pocket, which is great, because most of my "fun" reading is done in the car or while I'm waiting at appts... Love this man-love his knowledge-his Faith in America!

I think this booklet is the very thing that every US citizen should read! Including every single member of congress, who should read it out loud in chambers on C-Span, BOTH houses(!), the President and Vice President reading it OUT-LOUD onC-Span, every judge in America including the Supreme court and MOST OF ALL, every liberal, communist and all those that belong to "banning" gun groups. Our constitution/bill of rights is concisely and indisputably explained BY those that authored those documents. This needs to also be taught in every single school in the country starting with first grade until the end of high school and/or college!! Love David Barton, has done very thorough and extensive research on our founding documents and those that laid them out. Great, great booklet!

People who support more gun control often say the Second Amendment only protects the right of "Militia" to keep and bare arms. This book gives great insight into what the founding fathers themselves intended when they wrote the Second Amendment. There is no better source for the intent of the 2nd amendment than the authors themselves.

David Barton has an extraordinary skill in explaining the constitution in simple ways. I've read some of his other books, and they are excellent depictions of unaltered history. I love the paperback versions--easy to carry anywhere.

Well organized, well written. Essential information and so much more that is very good to have. Like all of his work I have read this book is packed full of all you absolutely need to know about this subject, as well as so much more that makes it very interesting and enjoyable to read. David Barton is one of the more circumspect writers of our day.

Short. Precise & to the point. Chocked full of quotes and truly builds the historical picure surrounding our Second Amendment. If you want to understand this right and its historical context this is the book for you. If you want to know what the framers of our Constitution really meant... this is the book for you.

I purchased this book to better understand the basis of the second amendment. I found the research and documentation excellent even for such a small volume. David Barton is one of the best and most accurate historians I have ever read. He is not afraid to "tell it like it is (or was)." His points are clear and coherent unlike some of the other revisionist drivel I have read. I recommend all of his works when people ask who they can trust to be accurate and truthful in the historical presentation with contextually accurate Biblical reference.

Anyone who has ANY doubts about what the writers of the United States Constitution intended when they wrote the Second Amendment is a man who, as William Biederwolf has said, "A man who...can look all over the sky at high noon on a cloudless day and not see the sun."

David Barton gives so many solid examples with references to back them up of the framers original intent when the Second Amendment was added to our Constitution. It's both amazing and sad to see just how far our country has fallen in consideration of our Constitution. By my measure, most of the states in the U.S. are violating the Second Amendment and even our Supreme Court, while barely upholding the 2nd so far, has allowed too much regulation already on our right to keep and bear arms.

There are so many great examples, quotes, and so much history contained in this small book that I am definitely going to see what Mr Barton has to say in his other writings.

It's CRYSTAL clear that anyone who can't see the original intent outlined in this book has nothing but their own agenda for the regulation and eventual ban on our freedoms to keep and bear arms.

May God bless Mr Barton and all those who continue to keep the truths alive regarding the Constitutional rights our founding fathers outlined for us so many years ago.

If you are a beginner to Constitutional law, and avid firearms enthusiast...or just looking to learn what the 2nd amendment is all about...then you will LOVE this book. Provides a very RICH history of the 2nd Amendment from legal scholars at the time of the creation of the Constitution so it takes all the guest work out of wondering what the Founding Fathers meant...you can learn (and gain citations) directly from this incredible book.

David Barton packs a great deal of information into this book. Barton's endnotes are extensive. He has 235 endnotes, following 63 pages of text. Barton gets a lot of criticism in many (left-wing) circles, but if you don't believe what he writes, take a gander at his endnotes. He tells you exactly where he gets his information, and his sources are nearly always original documents, or speeches, or history books written before 1920. Short, interesting, informative, well-researched, excellent book.

This little "book", actually more of a pamphlet, gives all the basics about how the 2nd Amendment was written, what the Founders actually meant and their arguments as to why it was needed. It's a quick read of about 1 1/2 hours and will set the record straight without the Liberal Progressive distortion.

David Barton has written a concise review of the 2nd amendment and the positions of the founding fathers on firearms and their place in American society. The book is "pocket-sized", so it's handy to have when your liberal brother-in-law visits.

Everyone needs to carry this in their pocket beside their weapon!! It tells doubters we Do have a right to be armed and protected immediately, not an hour later when the police come pick up our dead body!!

Every American that cares about freedom from the tyranical government we now have should understand the intent our founders. An in-depth documented study of their convictions that protect us so we can never allow them to take our guns. There is a reason that all Americans should have weapons. Please read and share it with others.

David Barton doesn't quote historians, he quotes the people who made history in the first place! If you want to know what the founders thought on the topics we are dealing with today (in this case the 2nd ammendment), you need to look at what the founders actually said. This is exactly what Mr. Barton does. Great resource!

This book is well written, problem is its to short. Its very good as far as it goes. Using the Founders Words and putting them in order of time and circumstance, you get a very clear picture of what the Founders wanted and what they wanted to Protect and Why. Good read, and a good understanding of our Nations History.

Love the American history here. Ties the right of Self Defense to guns using a host of quotes and laws.

Gives philosophic foundations for the Second Amendment.

Includes early laws about requiring people to own guns and ammo and be in working condition - shows fines for not having a gun.

Lots of endnotes.

A must read for every single American! We've been led to believe such bunk! We are under such tyrannical rule, our Founders would be so ashamed of us if they could see what's happened. So many of our brothers and sisters, our fathers and mothers have died to preserve our rights and we have allowed some power hungry tyrants to strip them all away without so much as a kick, much less a fight.

Once read, you will realize (if you're not seriously brain dead) without a doubt, what the Founders meant by "the right of the people to keep and bear arms SHALL NOT be infringed". They actually meant what they said and why it's so important to our freedom.

Obviously the government drones who we have elected have no idea of what this amendment represents. This is a brilliant discussion of the Second Amendment with references and explanations suitable for both the layman and constitutional scholar. Well done!

David Barton is unmatched in his telling of historically accurate facts related to our Founding era. Tragically, though there is no counter argument to Barton's defense of our 2nd Amendment. Those who oppose such liberty possess minds that cannot be persuaded by history, reason, logic, or religion. I fear that the defense of our inalienable rights will soon require a force of arms against our very own elected politicians.

The second amendment reveals just how intelligent and right our forefathers were and the wisdom of the courts when they ruled in favor of the 2nd. Amendment. If you are a "true American" you must read this book and educate your liberal gun banner friends, if you still have any.
