This sequel to "A Street Cat Named Bob" continues the story of James and Bob and how their lives continued to evolve. Bob seems like an amazing cat and I'm so glad that he and James found each other. James' willingness to share some of his trying times and recovery is amazing. What could be depressing is anything but.

As a lifelong cat person I love reading about how cats change lives, James and Bob have one of those extraordinary relationships that inspire others to be better human beings. I hope there is a third book about James and Bob soon.

Love the story, but has anyone else noticed at page 173 there seems to be some of the story missing? Between 173 and 174 the story changes abruptly to a midpoint in a conversation with his father. I returned my book and am hoping to repurchase later. I want a complete book for my library.
As of 6/17/14 I have been to 2 local bookstores. The copies on their shelves have the same problem. Tried calling MacMillan. Got voice mail and no response since then. I really want an INTACT book for my library. If anyone can help please let me know. Thanks.

I loved James Bowen's book A Streetcat named Bob. It was a story of redemption and how human and animal saved one another. This could have been a sentimental tale but the raw honesty James Bowen showed in his description of the dark years of his addiction and attempts to kick it as well as the difficulties homeless and vulnerable people face in society was impressive.
Bob the cat is an exceptional animal and without doubt he chose James (as cats often do -- they seem to be able instinctively to pick humans who will care for them).
The World According to Bob continues their story until the publication of the first book. I hope that James and Bob go from strength to strength.

This is a wonderful sequel to the first book about Bob written by James Bowen about how he and Bob saved each other. In this book they finally get off the street and out of danger for Bob. It is a wonderful story and Bob is a very special cat. Any cat lover would enjoy this book, highly recommended. i loved it.

I read the first book about Bob and really enjoyed this book, which added more information and talked about what happened as James and Bob became famous. There was some redundancy, which was probably useful for people who hadn't read the first book.

Such a great story of cat - human coexistence. A high five to all the Bobs of the world. This tale just proves to me the positive nature of having a pet in your life. Well done James! Here's hoping that the two of you have many more years together.

I immediately bought this book when finished the first book of James & Bob.
Although the book still bears the name of Bob, but looks like James does live in a world according to Bob cos they are inseparable.
Some of the chapters do not seem to bridge well with the following chapters which make me feel like James is writing in a spiral circle of his story. But I'm glad he & bob got out of the circle and entered a new life. Wish you all the best!
Btw, hello form Hong Kong! A BFF always negs me to visit London with her, hope I can somehow bump into you guys!

I loved the story by James Bowen: "The World According To Bob" from the first sentence to the last. The story masterfully weaves Bowen's and Bobs lives together where James seems to be the more in need of Bob, than, perhaps Bob of James. The book is such a delight that it will lift any downcast spirit up of his or her doldrums. I recommend this book to everybody but especially all cat lovers.

Loved the book! The sequel was equally as good as the first book, I am happy to say. Heartwarming and easy to read, I recommend it to every cat lover. But it is more than that because it tells the true story of how James overcomes his past, and the amazing relationship between cat and human.

I loved this account of the struggle James endured and how Bob became his one constant that slowly pulled him from the darkness. I have a loved one who has been grabbed by the demon drug. I would love him to surface for long enough to connect with James and Bob through this book and perhaps he too will find himself.

James Bowen's frank and heartfelt style came through, again, in "The World According to Bob". This real-life adventure and uplifting story will make the reader wish the last page of this book would never come.
This story is well worth a second (and third) read!

I really enjoyed this short series. Not only is Bob one amazing cat but these books helped me understand the homeless situation more fully too. I see homeless folks a little differently now for sure. A good life lesson.

The wonderful journey of James Bowen and Bob continues. it is a heartwarming, sometimes heartwrenching story. These two amazing once lost souls provide a unique insight into homelessness, recovery, and the power of kindness. It is a story of genuine devotion and hope. I laughed, cried but most of all celebrated that James and Bob are finding their way. Let us hope their generosity of spirit will produce a follow up ... knowing these two, there have to be more "tales" to tell!

Following the first book, a Street Cat Named Bob, this is just as good...A Beautifully told story of the strong bond James has with Bob and how they walk through life together, each helping the other along the way. It is the kind of book which you don't often find...a feel good experience....you just don't want it to end....
And, if you are a cat lover, you can really relate to so many of the stories..
