Stray Cat Became a Worldwide Hero - Simon Ships Out. How One Brave

After losing my cat several months ago I found this book very enlightening. Sometimes as a pet owner I think we all sit and wonder what can possibly be going through there little minds when we talk to them, when the jump on us when they purr, sleep and play. They are smart, funny and extremely comforting. Well done. Brought tears to my eyes as I was nearing the last pages.

I liked reading from the animals point of view. Fell in love with Simon, like the rest of the world. Anyone that likes animal stories should enjoy this too. I couldn't put it down.
Based on true facts made it even better, read the footnotes for historical information. Hate it wasn't longer.

I loved it and would definitely recommend it. There is a lot of history in this book and I loved the authentic pictures and footnotes. It even caused me to read more on the internet about the Amethyst incident and Simon and watch the real vedeo clips from newsreels of the day about him.

At first I could not decide if faction or fiction. But I couldn't put it down just to see what would happen next. I really enjoyed the book and being a cat owner of several I just wondered what goes on in THEIR minds!!!!!

This is a wonderful story! It includes photos of the actual ships, the two ship's pets, and the people from the story. It moves along nicely, and one can really feel the danger when Simon describes the scary parts. Just lovely.

Beautiful and heart warming story. Told beautifully through the eyes of Simon. This story moved me like no other. Truly the best book I have read on my kindle so far! I just don't have the words to describe the emotion this book stirred within me.
