I discovered Harlan Coben by buying his latest book, The Woods. I loved it and then went on the hunt for all thirteen of his previous novels, which includes his Myron Bolitar novels. Deal Breaker is the first one of that series (there are eight) written over 15 years ago. It took me a awhile but I found them all, including his stand alone novels. He is now one of my favorite writers along with, James Patterson, Richard North Patterson and Vince Flynn to name a few. You will not be disappointed in any of Harlan Coben books.

Intricate weaving of multiple characters and their back stories makes this a great fast-paced read - main line characters interwoven with the dregs of humanity keeps the storyline moving and compelling. Spoiler alert...Win comes full circle.

Too bad if Back Spin is your introduction to Bolitar. I've read and liked just about just about everything he has written. Back Spin reads like something he tossed off and put out under contractural pressure over a couple of drunken weekends. Too bad!

Harlan Coben is a great writer. I have read several of his books, and he always has plots that surprises you. I always try to find books of his that I have not read. I like his books so well that they are keepers. I have several that I keep as I read them as well as other authors that I especially like.

Every time I got irritated with this writer, which was fairly often, he threw in a really funny line that had me laughing aloud, or else delivered a plot twist or fact about the setting (professional tennis) that had a complete ring of truth or at least kept me reading. I would read more of his books, selectively ... trying to verify whether he really knows as much as he pretends to about the sports his character Myron Bolitar represents. I can't decide whether he really deserves three or four stars. The presentation is slick, & the story moves quickly, but many of the characters are quite one-dimensional and predictable, and there's more violence in the narration than I am comfortable with.

Harlan Coben has written a great detective novel. Myron, his signature detective, is on the case - and solves it - with his usual group of strange and unusual friends and associates and does it all with tongue placed firmly in cheek!! I love it.

Harlan Coben has a lovely style of writing. He consistently produces great story lines, usually with a good twist. This book is no exception. His laid back sense of homour is very refreshing. Like his other books, this is a joy to read.

The Bolitar series is just one great book after another. Harlan Coben has such great characters and stories here, as he does with most all of his works, but the dialogue is what really stands out. The self-effacing Bolitar and his humorous
interactions with the other characters are the best!
