Excellent content. I would enjoy the book a lot more if it were printed in a pure white background and with a minimalist design that is in tune with Stillness and Awareness of the formless dimension, rather than a highly decorative style reminiscent of children's books. Maybe I'll give my copy to something who enjoys that kind of look.

When I recieved the book it was definitely not new. There were obvious signs of either being quite old or sitting for awhile. All corners of the book half way through were curled. Paging through it paged in clumps.

This book really captures the essence of Eckhart Tolle's teachings. Taking selections from his latest book "A New Earth" and editing them under topics that make them useful and easy to understand and read.
The book explores how to go beyond thought. We get lost in the delusion that our thoughts are us, they are not, we are the awareness behind the thoughts. What we can observe is not what we are. Awareness lives in the present, when we do mental movie making of the past or future we have become lost in thoughts. Most people's conscious awareness is asleep and associated completely with thoughts, emotions, and the body. This book is about creating awareness through observing that this is not who we are. When you become one with the present moment your false ego falls away and you clearly see life for what it is, released from the bonds of opinion, judging, and ego desire. Yielding to what is gives you the ability to observe life and make decisions from the power of your clear awareness and avoid the confusion of the false ego.
If you are ready to move to a higher level of consciousness, and break free from the delusions of the false ego. Then I strongly suggest you buy and read this and Tolle's other books. He integrates the teachings of Buddha and Christ and explains them in their true spiritual context.

The first thing I noticed about Eckhart Tolle's Oneness with All Life: Inspirational Selections from a New Earth, is that it is a beautifully bound hard cover book (ribbon bookmark included,)with an old-time feel. The inside is beautifully laid out with flower illustrations. It actually conveys a feeling of peacefulness to hold the book.
"Your inner purpose is to awaken," says Tolle. This is the essence of the book, and what my own spiritual teacher tries to instill in her students. Each chapter works on this lofty spiritual plane.
Tolle recommends that you read A New Earth before Oneness with all Life, as this book is a distilled version of the first and contains fairly advanced spiritual lessons. He suggests reading a random section or single chapter at a time. The point is to read, reflect, and allow the messages to resonate within your soul.
"The informational content of this book is of relatively little importance," he writes. "You read it not so much to learn something new, but to go deeper, become more present, awaken out of the stream of incessant and compulsive thinking."
This sums up the book for me: "If you come across passages in this book that you feel are powerful, I want you to realize that what you are feeling is your own spiritual power. That is to say you are in your essence."
This book is like having your own spiritual teacher to turn to whenever you need some clarity.
A typical passage: "How to be at peace now. By making peace with the present moment."
Highly recommended.
By the author of the award winning book, HARMONIOUS ENVIRONMENT: BEAUTIFY, DETOXIFY & ENERGIZE YOUR LIFE, YOUR HOME & YOUR PLANET.

Oneness with All Life is another jewel by the bestselling author of The Power of Now and A New Earth. I recommend that you first read A New Earth and then enjoy this beautiful book for inspiration and meditative reading. While it includes many powerful pointers from A New Earth, Eckhart does not dissect the ego or explore the pain body as he does in his other books. This is in no way a diminishment of the profound message that you will cherish within.
The purpose of this book is to shift deeper in consciousness and to allow the presence that is already within you to consciously emerge. If you find yourself lost in compulsive thinking, take a moment and read a passage or start each morning with a quiet inspiration. In this gentle manner, Eckhart will guide you to your essence.
When you first glance at the physical beauty of this book's cover, it is the first hint that you are about to receive an intimate gift directly from Eckhart Tolle. It is appropriately referred to as the "Treasury Edition."

Eckhart Tolle's Oneness of All Life is, put simply, a book with the power to change your life--especially if viewed as a more digestible companion to Tolle's groundbreaking first release, The Power of Now. Written as a collection of one-page, sometimes even one-paragraph sentiments or truths pertaining to various aspects of the author's main theme, the awakening and evolution of human consciousness, Oneness of All Life is a book you can carry with you wherever you go, referencing a familiar passage or discovering something new by flipping to a random page.
Tolle, who began his literary career very humbly, pitching his ideas as an unknown, unpublished author in Vancouver, B.C., maintains that to lead a fulfilling, meaningful human existence is to concentrate one's energy completely in the moment at hand--the now. While this might sound extremely simple, it is not simple at all. To do this requires, at least for the vast majority of us, a total overhaul of our mental tendencies and habits. We are conditioned from a very young age to both dwell on the past and obsess about the future, meanwhile ignoring the one thing over which we actually have some control: what is happening right now. The author attributes the majority of the world's problems, past and present, to a deeply rooted flaw in the human brain, an unconscious need to schizophrenically jump from one thought to the next, all day and every day; he also claims that the majority of disease, both physical and mental, is attributable to this affliction, which leads a person dwell on things in the past which cannot be changed, or speculate and anticipate with great anxiety what awaits in the future.
All of the main points and themes covered in The Power of Now (which was a global commercial success) are crystallized into easily understood, accessible passages in Oneness With All Life. Tolle manages to explore and expand upon pre-existing spiritual philosophies and teachings, mostly stemming from Eastern schools, without threatening or undermining the notion of a monotheistic God entity, such as those worshipped by Christians, Muslims, and numerous other religious groups. For example, he says:
Through the present moment, you have access to the power of life itself, that which has traditionally been called "God." As soon as you turn away from it, God ceases to be a reality in your life, and all you are left with is the mental concept of God, which some people believe in and others deny. Even belief in God is only a poor substitute for the living reality of God manifesting every moment of your life. (p. 35)
One of the most powerful ideas in Tolle's companion book is the notion that human beings have an outer purpose and inner purpose. The outer purpose is associated with the world of form, which consists of not only our material surroundings and circumstances, but also the complicated lives we create for ourselves: careers, goals, ambitions, expectations, etc. He says it is possible to fulfill the wildest of dreams of our outer purpose, but fail miserably to succeed at our inner purpose; and while outer purposes vary greatly from one individual to the next, the goal of inner purpose is the same for us all: to stay conscious in each moment of our lives and to focus on the quality of our experiences as they happen, rather than mistakenly believe that happiness or fulfillment is still around the corner; to see the inner beauty and perfection in our fellow human beings, rather than allow particulars of form (outward appearance, personality, language and many other components of the physical world) to compromise our ability to experience true consciousness, and to connect on a deeply conscious (present) level with others.
It must be noted that while there is much wisdom to be gained from casually perusing any given page of the book, truly integrating Tolle's teachings into one's life will require a major commitment. As mentioned, these are powerful, simple ideas, but to employ them with consistency requires a dramatic change in our mental behavior and habits. Even if one is not able to use the book to effect a complete life transformation, Oneness With All Life is still an essential read for anyone who seeks more peace and less stress in their life, or who believes there is hope for humanity to overcome its great challenges and arrive at a more harmonious relationship with not only itself, but also the planet upon which it dwells.

If you are considering buying this book, or A New Earth in the bookstore, you are probably interested in exploring Tolle's work.
As I leafed through this book which is merely selections from the other book, albeit with a nice hardcover binding, and a ribbon bookmark, I realised, why get the milk, when you can get the whole cow for less.
So, that's what I did, I got the whole cow.
So, if you already have the whole cow, are a fan of the whole cow, love the whole cow, and merely want more or less of the same, or to give it as a gift, get this book. It would make an excellent gift.
If not, the other one beckons, and I do recommend it.
I know this one is tempting, it's a really nice cover. This is a good opportunity for you to practice your desirelessness, and not buy it : )
I hope you find this review helpful.

A continuation of healing and understanding from Eckhart Tolle for those who have read "The Power of Now" and "A New Earth". He gives some of his most powerful quotes on each page that can be read and re-read to emphasize the powerful messages he spoke of in his series of books.

I really enjoy reading Eckhart Tolle because he has a very clear way of discussing the barriers to living a full and present Life. This book highlights the oneness we all have with ourselves, others, presence, and love. This is a beautiful book to keep by your bedside.

This is a beautiful collection of the inspirational sayings in the book A New Earth. If you have never read any of Eckhart Tolle's writings, i would suggest that you read A New Earth (or The Power of Now) first, or watch one of his DVDs (the 'Flowering of Human Consciousness,' or the 'Findhorn Retreat').

Tolle wrote the same messages as all his books. The only different is format, by adding flowers, by adding the pretty cover. Buy just one book is enough. This is the last Tolle's book I will purchase.
