A fantastic peek behind the curtain of production on one of my all-time favorite cartoons. Seeing the hidden roots of my favorite characters and the sheer amount of effort put into A:TLA is a real treat. The love the creators and crew have for this series is on full display and their enthusiasm jumps off the page. A must-have for any fan of animation.

This book is indeed worthwhile purchasing if you are a fan of Avatar the Last Airbender. It includes amazing art concepts as well as pictures of areas throughout the TV series. If you are a fan, you will not regret getting it. In fact, some images can even be considered breathtaking.

This book is an absolute must for any Avatar fan. Understanding how much work was put into this masterpiece of a show gives an even greater appreciation for it. The detailed research and trial concepts lead to brilliant designs that truly captured the artists' main goal. Each page captures the raw essence of the show and gives clear thought towards aspects we normally do not acknowledge. The book is absolutely fantastic and a great inspiration, especially to a fellow artist.

Cannot stress how much I love this book. Love seeing the designs evolve from concept to the final versions I love so much. Lots of stories about the production mixed in with the art. If you love the show this is a must-have.

Guys, really, there's no other better product about The legend of Aang (except for the dvds.) If you're an artist it will help you understand how tv shows are made and literally get inside the thoughts of the creators: The Gods Bryan Konietzko and Michael Dante Dimartino. If you are a fan you get the thrill of your life reading this. I can tell this because I'm a huge fan and also an artist and this is the best pre-production art/visual development book I've bought so far.

This is a very nice, generously filled book of everything Avatar: The Last Airbender. Thick binding covers pages of beautiful, richly covered artwork that tells the story of how this series began and ended. Love it.

This book is amazing.
The only thing that could have made it better if there were more etymological explanations of how they came up with names etc. On the other hand, that is not the main focus—instead, we get page after beautiful page.

Such an amazing art work! I love the ATLA series, and I love it even more after reading this book.
This is definitely a must have for any fan of ATLA b/c it gives you lots of background information about the series such as how did the creators created character like Toph, how did they come up with the awesome sword fighting scene, the beautiful landscape for each nation, etc...

I read this book five times already and still find new things each time that I open the book!

I purchased this book to understand all the aspects involved in the conception and design of this animated series and found it to be highly informative in every way. The authors, successful animators before beginning the project, envisioned a world of people and creatures that have become a favorite for young and old alike. And upon the completion of the animated series, inspired a Hollywood director to take on the task of making a live action movie. The concept art is great and each section is divided into the chapters and episodes of the animated series. If you've purchased all three seasons of the animated series on DVD, this book is a great guide, covering certain high points of the episodes. The authors also mention events that progress the making of the series and people that helped with making it a reality. If you've watched the series, may I suggest that you purchase this book for I believe you will be impressed and, as a companion to the animated series, this book will be treasured for many years to come.

This is probably the best Avatar related product I ever bought apart from the three seasons that comprise the series. The book details everything you would want to hear about especially if you are interested in "Behind the Scenes" things like I am. This book details pretty much the entire production process. It features how Bending was inspired, early character designs, story ideas, even how they came up with the hybrid animals. I love how the creators talk about each character, and every single episode is talked about in this book, even if they only take a page to talk about. This book impressed me beyond words. I loved each page, each drawing, some of the early work on Iroh looks really cool. If you are a fan of the animated series this will make a phenomenal addition to your collection of Avatar related memorabilia. It's a wonderful book and I plan to read it many more times. If I could put one criticism to this book it would be that there is no explanation of where Zuko's mom went but I can live with that until the next comic book comes out.

I love the Last Airbender series so much but have found the DVD releases to be lacking in behind the scenes content. This book rectifies that. It's loaded with art, stories and notes from the very beginning of the animation process to the end, giving insight into the evolution of all the people, places, and things in this show.

The series is one of the most imaginative, well written ever created. On ever page of this book you will find insights into the creators' processes regarding the characters, story, and working with the studios that financed and drew the show. You get a sense of how brilliant these guys were and how much fun they had.
