Cowboy Take Me Away (Rough Riders Book 16)

Lorelei has done it again with an amazing story to the ending of the Rough Rider series. I love getting a glimpse of the characters I have come to love in this story of the patriarch's Carson and Carolyn McKay. The story itself was so original using the accident of Carolyn to look back over 50 years from the past to the present of their lives. I savored every moment I read and actually made it last 4 days. Now I will re-read the series with a fresh perspective. Again thank you Lorelei for being an awesome story teller. Makes me wish I could be apart of the McKay clan. I am recommending this book and series 100%.

I have read and LOVED each and every installment of the Rough Riders series, but this one was my favorite. The way Ms. James wove the story lines from previous titles about Carson and Carolyn's family into the fabric of "Cowboy Take Me Away" had me hooked from the first chapter. I did not put the book down until I had finished it. It was the perfect way to spend seven hours of a sunny, summer day on my deck - I even turned off my cell phone so I wouldn't be interrupted! Whether you agree with some of the twists and turns her books take or not, you can't argue that Ms. James has a true gift for story-telling, and drawing the reader into the characters' world. I wish I had her talent!

Lorelei James finished with a bang. Rough Riders has always stood above the rest but WOW what a way to go out. I fell in love with Colby, Colt touched my soul, Keely was my sister in writing. The journey I have taken while reading this series was wrapped beautifully together with a love story for the ages. Carson and Caro will forever be my ultimate love story..

5++++++++ stars for this book. Wow, what an absolutely beautiful ending to a series I will always hold close to my heart. To say this story was emotional for me just doesn't even begin to cover it.

It really was the PERFECT ending.

What a perfectly wonderful way to tell the love story that started the McKay family! You could feel the love of Carson and Carolyn and it was great to read their story. So well written that it made me cry at several points, I wouldn't have missed this book for anything! Now you understand why the kids love as long and hard as they do!

Lorelei James is one of the best romance writers around. She tells a wonderful tale. Her characters are wonderfully flawed and realistic. Going back to the beginning as a way to end this series was genius. Loved everything about the book and can't wait for her next one no matter what she chooses to right about. She is an auto buy for me.

After reading all the books in this series, I must say it was so awesome reading all the memories Carson and Caro made over the years. Reading stories about when the kids where younger was awesome as well. Anytime you ready these books its like you are there with the them...Lorelei James is just awesome at bringing this series together...My only wish is that this was not the last book!

Caro and Carson a match made in heaven. The love these two share is amazing. After reading 15 books about their children and getting little bits about them this book was truly amazing. I love all the McKay/west bunch!! After reading this series you feel as you can go to Wyoming and meet the family you feel so much a part of!!!

Wow, what an amazing story! This is the best series ending book I've ever read. This story has made me laugh out loud and cry. If you've ready any of the books, this will answer all your questions and some you hadn't thought of.

A beautiful, happy ending to a fantastic series. If you have never read any of this series, you can read this one without being lost or confused. So many great memories in this story.

Carson and Carolyn's love story brought out so many emotions for me. I laughed, cried and I was ready to bring a can of whoop a$$ out on a few people.

Thanks to Lorelei we were able to be part of a special family that spanned over 60 years.

Excellent conclusion to the Rough Riders Series! Loved the insight into the McKay/West family! Take a ride with Carson and Carolyn down memory lane in this fabulous book! They had a forever love but no relationship is easy and you get to see that and how they became and stayed such a strong couple! Loved it!

Lorelei James has absolutely outdone herself with CTMA. It was the perfect ending to an amazing series. I laughed, I cried, and I laughed til I cried. It was great seeing the love story unfold between Carson and Carolyn and by the end I felt like I had bumped into an old friend and caught up on the family. Its sad to see this series end but I am excited to see what amazing stories Lorelei James has for us next.

This was a beautiful love story that transcends time. Once again I laughed out loud, cried hard and felt like I know this McKay family. It’s a must read for all romantics or want-to-be romantics. I’m sad to be done with this series.

I have read and reread the Rough Riders books many times. I've looked forward to this one - though I dread the end of the series. This was fantastic She neatly, and sweetly ties up loose ends, provides background for some characters who briefly appeared in previous Rough Riders books. Carolyn and Carson's story just rocks.

Do yourself a favor, buy this and read it..

I have thoroughly enjoyed this entire series, but this book was the cherry! What a wonderful way to tell the beginning of this family dynasty. You need to read the other books in order, so you will understand this beautiful love story.

AWESOME!!!!!!The best....Loved it! I cracked up at the part when Carolyn left for 5 days and left Carson in charged, (Cord was a busy boy, lol). It was a great end to a wonderful series...they will be missed very much....Now on to some rereads from the rest of the series, think I will check back in on Sky and Kade :)

Wow. I'm speechless this was such an amazing read. What a way to end this series. I cried then had a good laugh then cried some more! I have read this series from book one and as much as I hate to see it end I'm glad she ended this way. This book was well worth the wait!

The final installment of the Rough Riders series did not disappoint! It was the perfect ending to the much beloved series!!! Ms. James completely outdid herself with this one, weaving a tale that provided a wealth of insight into the love shared between Carson and Carolyn McKay! Loralei James is a fantastic author who creates such mesmerizing story lines that you are captured and enthralled immediately, and ladies................ the erotica is just icing on the cake.

Extraordinary! Once again, LJ steals my heart: a turmoil of emotions in the end of the McKay saga! Love every single aspect, she put a espectacular last chapter for our Rough Riders. This is the most emotionally jerking book in the rough riders series.. The sweetest, and the steamiest to me.. Real world issues of a couple who have been through decades of storms and heartache and happiness and stuck together through it all!! Love it!!

I love this series. This was a wonderfully written book that explains so much about the McKay family history. I absolutely loved hearing about the boys and Keely growing up and their antics. My heart wept with Carson's fear for his life without Caro.

It was fitting that the conclusion to the Rough Riders series concluded by telling the story of where it all began..the love story between the matriarch and patriarch of the West/MCKay family! It was truly a loving story between Carolyn and Carson McKay, it was a wonderfully beautiful story that showed how the whole McKay brood .. The sons and daughter and their wives and husband learned what it meant to be loving, honest, respectful, sexy, and devoted to the people they love. That is the best word to describe this loving couple DEVOTED to their love, their life, children, and to each other. I LOVED THIS STORY it made me feel all squishy inside to read how much Catson and Carolyn loved each other and were truly not whole without the other. Oh my gosh I adored this story, and it cried and cheered and laughed out loud and I'd read it again and again. Thank you Ms James for giving the whole Rough Riders series to us...I LOVED EACH AND EVERY STORY! You did the McKay family justice with this last story!

I have been hooked on this series from the beginning. Lorelei James puts her soul in each character. We have seen the love of Carson and Carolyn in each book so to finally have their love story brought out every emotion. I laughed, cried, sobbed and sighed. And by the end of the book I felt like I had been part of one of the greatest love stories ever written.

I love this book. It brought everything together in this awesome series. It brought tears, smiles, and heartbreak to me. Thanks Lorelei James for sharing the life and times of the McKay families. Awesome job done very well.

Lorelei wrapped up this great saga of the McKay & West clans in only the way she can. Terrific finale to the Rough Rider series. Will soon start re-reading from the start to enjoy all over again. Thanks LJ!
