I purchased this book, because of the great reviews. The story line was interesting, but I didn't care for the book. I think there was so much left out that should have been revealed. When telling of Kelsey and Tavish's dreams, the author writes from first person as if talking to a friend saying "the dream got private after that".
Really good time travel books are Tamara Leigh's Dreamspell and Ceci Giltenan's Pocket Watch series.
Spoilers:
Tavish (thinking to himself) wishes his dad had told him ___before he met Kelsey. We are never told the what/why...we can guess. Kelsey is called "priestess"...another item not concluded.

I enjoyed this book and found it full of interesting facts about the druids and celts. I like a book that I can learn from and derive enjoyment from at the same time. I think a lot can be learned from authors who research and put factual information in their stories. I found the emotions between Tavish and Kelsey to be engaging and I could understand the pain and unresolved emotions between them. There was a "decorum" to the physical displays which I found refreshing after so many books with explicit sex. It is appropriate for young to adult and I believe will hold their interest no matter what age. I read this book thru Kindle Unlimited. This is a freely given honest review.

I love this book! Time travel books are usually fun to read, but this one was especially enjoyable. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this story about Tavish the 13th century Scottish warrior and his love interest, Dr. Kelsey Ferguson of present day. She is an expert of celtic history and is currently investigating a castle ruins for artifacts and any secret tunnels. When she reunites with the kilted man who was her love interest as a teenager, she remembers how much she liked him. He seems to know a lot about the history of the castle, and soon a secret is revealed about him that takes her by surprise and changes her life. It's an awesome story and one that I highly recommend.

I really enjoyed the story. The reasons I did not give it five stars was due to the contradictions and unneeded commentary. Now he broke up with her due to the fact that she was in danger of those that wanted him to get stuff for them, they wanted to get rid of her, yet when they saw her with Tavish at the end of the book they did nothing, yet he was so frightened of them. Really. Also not seeing how she fell out the boat, I truly believe that entire scene was not needed in the book. It helped nothing, explained nothing. Just my thoughts. Also with all the affection they showed each other and how they became closer in old town, it was ridiculous how they turned a switch back to disliking each other for just a minute for nothing, they were just getting along, again unneeded scene. However it get 4 stars instead of 3 because I enjoyed the writing, and those few things don't make up the book.

I really enjoyed Tavish and Kelsey's story. Falling in love as teens and then ripped apart for no apparent reason, only to meet again through work, is a great romance story all on its own. To add to it is the mysterious rings, time traveling, and Druids.

So much is left unanswered which is frustrating, but I love that the story goes on and hopefully more enlightening.

An interesting, easy to follow, unpredictable, well paced read with twists and turns that keep you captivated and on guard. It soon becames apparent that nothing is as it seems. It's unpredictable and mishaps keeps everyone on egde. No one appears as they started out but are now beginng to show their true personalities. With danger around every corner and to top it off the two main characters try to rid themselves

It was alright. It was hard to follow when characters were speaking w/Gaelic accent. At one point, she forgot & had them speaking perfect English. This is 1st book, but we were thrown into the middle of their (broken) romance which we knew wouldn't be, for long. It gave a feeling that there was an earlier book. The dreams could've been confusing but kept reading & figured it out. At the end, I saw the next book would be focused on Tavish' friend, w/each successive book having different couples. At least that's how I saw it, so I wasn't interested in a host of new characters that didn't allow time for attachment. I just didn't feel drawn to continue the series.

Wow, this is the first book from Jane Stain that I have read and, it won't be the last!

Firstly, there are sexy highlanders in it (just look at the broody sexy look the guy on the cover has), secondly, it is Scottish, which is on my bucket list of places to visit and drool over the accents (I live in New Zealand). Thirdly, it has TIME TRAVEL! (I am still a believer), and not the least, it has romance. I mean, what girl doesn't dream of travelling back in time and meeting a sexy Scot and living happily ever after!

Jane has managed to put all of the above into this book and, nicely tied all the pieces together seamlessly to create a wonderful story.
Not only that but there are MORE books in the series.

WeeHee, here I come!

Finally a believable tale of time travel in the highlands! A wonderful story of a love lost and found! The excitement of the secret doors and found treasures added an extra realistic layer to this tale, it was exciting going through the ruins, I felt like I was there!

Absolutely delightful, funny characters. The main characters kept me guessing with their love/hate relationship. I couldn't wait to see what would happen in their adventure, between their relationship, their trip to the past and the Druid.
This story was well written and a lot of fun to read, especially the Gaelic/English translation writing.
This was a great read after Jane's Series of Kilts at the Renaissance Faire. This is a stand alone book. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys romance/time travel.
I can't wait to see what happens next.

Tavish is the first book in a time travel series. The concept and story are quite good and creative, although you'd have to read the whole series to get the whole story - no problem! I gave it five stars because I got lost in the book and had to finish it in one reading.

I like both time travel and Scottish romance stories. This book filled both requirements. The storyline was completely different from any other books I've read within those categories. Although the plot line was interesting, I felt that there were gaps that left me wondering... Not enough to want to read the next book in the series, but I felt there were parts of Kelsey and Tavish's story that were missing. Still, an entertaining read.

7chapters in and we know the rather unlikeable heroine fondly recalls cuddling as a teen with her then boyfriend who time travels. Big surprise! She has no reaction to him dragging her without warning to the very creatively named "old time" to save her from some unseen also creatively named "they" who are a danger to her because she's so smart about the Celts. This is like bad fan fiction written by a teenager. My usual policy is 1 chapter to grab my interest with a decent plot if the writing sucks. I wasted 7 on this and it got worse, not better.

This is a different yet familiar take on time travel. I found it a little difficult to read as things jumped around without a transition. this book could have been a five star if more details and transitions were included. I am not a fan of cliffhangers because I believe if a mind is smart enough to write a good book it can end it even if there will be a book two. the end will just hint at something more to come. Not leave the reader wondering what will happen next.

Kelsey is in Scotland to find an ancient castle underground. Tavish is there too. He was her boyfriend all through high school, but then he stopped returning her messages.
Tavish is a time traveler with a responsibility to find treasures for a group identified as "they". He takes Kelsey back to the old time with him.
I skimmed parts because some of the descriptions and sequences went on longer than held my interest.

History, Archaeology and Magic. They should not mix, but in this story they form a beautiful blend of excitement and a great story.
A time travelling story at its best. I am already looking forward to the next installment.
I received a free copy from the author and was sceptical. It seemed a strange story. But the story develops easily and without any hurdles, it is incradible, but written in a way that I wish I were the heroine of the story...

This was a good quick read, with fairly good plot... good characters and a few twists along the way. I really liked the book, there a few things that were left in the air. I believed these all to be stand alone novels and wonder if somethings won’t be answered till later...

I love books with time travel, historical / medieval, romance, suspense, humor. This book has it all. Following Tavish and and Kelsey through their story of time. Jane Stain makes you feel, smell, experience everything through her rich style of writing, you'll believe you are right there with them as you read. I received this as a free copy and am delighted to leave a review. I can't wait to read the rest of the books.

Maybe this was aimed at Young Adult? The heroine acted like she was still in high school, the hero wasn't much better. The first half of the book wasn't as bad, but rapidly digressed into something like a high schooler's homework project. Also, she picked up some plot threads that she never resolved - possibly as a teaser for her next book. But it felt unfinished.

As a fan of celtic mythology and legands the intrigued me. It was just long enough to draw me in. It left me hanging in a good way. Lots of questions. What does Tavish know? What does her employer know? What's Kelsey's connection? How does Kelsey see the things she does? Has she been there before/has Tavish? So many questions and not enough answers. Love it. That's what makes me want to read on.

Intriguing story; the fantasy of an existing, buried castle replete with treasure holds the readers attention. Transporting the main characters in a romance from current time to past centuries is well done. The author's research is evident in her description of Druid symbolism. One or two spots where the story line flags a bit but on the whole a good read.

I received a copy of this book free through instaFreebie; from the author.
I can't say that I was captured by this installment. This particular book was something that I just could not seem to connect with. I felt as though I were walking in slow motion while reading; the character development was something that could have used some assistance. The plot moved very slowly and I disembarked from this story long before it could possibly even become overly interesting, moving on to other books all together.
I wish I could have said that I was better satisfied based on the obvious reviews by other readers, but I just could not continue reading after getting about halfway through.
The female character hold onto her past and questions her status and relationship with the main male character when she is suddenly taken to another time by him to save her from those who would harm her. She is instantly approached by a man she does not know and has to dress and conform to the era in which he has transported them to.
The premise has promise, but it was like dragging your feet in order to walk across the room to have anything happen.
I hope many other readers find more connection and are able to appreciate this book more than I was able to.
I will not be recommending this one to others.

I enjoyed this story. There is so much adventure. Kelsey and Tavish have a complicated relationship that even time can not destroy. I enjoyed the romance and all of the rich history. It starts a little slow but picks up.

I am voluntarily reviewing a copy I received.

This is my first Jane Stain book. I was attracted to the time travel element of the book. I also love a Scot in a kilt. I am really enjoying it. I am certainly going to read the others. I also like that the heroine is extremely smart. She can hold her own in the world of men. Looking forward to reading Seamus and Tomas. Keep up the good writing Jane. You have a fan for life in me.

But this book, well... the topic seemed interesting, which is why I decided to read it. However the writing is horrendous. Inconsistencies, characters without depth, a rambling story, useless sub-actions...it all makes for a painful reading and I was ready to give up at barely a third of the book. I finished it because I wanted to find a redeemable feature. I didn't.

I liked it. You can feel for the characters, like you've known them for awhile. There are some definite twists in the plot as well. I did find the story to be a bit uneven, and you need to suspend beliefs but it was enjoyable. I want to read book 2 now. (I did get this book for free but not for a review.)

Tavish is a light romance novel, not much substance, but fun to read, even with the Scottish/Gaelic verbiage. Interesting concept of time travel, but not enough, story substance have a really good novel, much more could have been done.

Tavish: A Time Travel Romance (Dunskey Castle) This story was a quick and fun read. There are still sparks between them, like when they first met. Then after time spent apart they are on a mission together again. They explore down into the tunnels for treasure and find the sparks lighting their path.

Mystery, adventure, romance, time-travel and a hot Scottish guy. All this wrapped up in a well written story.. Absolutely my kind of book and I'm delighted I had the opportunity to read it. I will be following Jane Stain and adding more of her books to my library.

I received this book for free with no obligation to provide a review. I loved it and can't wait to read the next book!

Storyline weak, no suspense, random jumps of scene, almost zero descriptive language. The sophistication of a college sophomore creative writing paper. Very boring. I have no desire to read the next in the series.

Tavish disappeared on Kelsey 7 years ago and now he shows up on her work sight contradicting every thing she says.

I really enjoyed this book. I couldn't even begin to guess what was coming next and liked that as too often books in the genre become predictable. The characters are as likeable. It's a nice, smooth, enjoyable read.
