I really enjoyed this book. Like all Indian stories it's sad with a lot of twists. I liked the way all the characters linked together. Great saga, it will appeal to people who like that type to story.

A journey through time, culture, traditions, and ultimately love. This was an experience that started out as a few different stories that twisted and turned into one! A wonderful read from beginning to end. Thank you

An engrossing book which continues spanning cultures of British Guiana, India and England, revealing to us the customs and family values. It is not one of those books you can easily predict the outcome but keeps you reading to find surprises you weren't expecting!

Sharon Maas writes a clever story that merges together at the end. Her characters are well formed and there is a lot of intrigue in the story that makes it a page-turner. Spanning over many years and set in several countries, I enjoyed this book and recommend. I only did not give it 5 stars because in parts it is somewhat far-fetched.

This book is both - brilliant and sensitive. the way the writer built the charactors is amazing - i could almost see and touch them. and thd descrpion of the places the time and the cultures of Guianna, India and london is enriching.
on top of all is the story - enchanting.
it's a pity the other books of the writer are not in Kindle yet.

Very engaging read. Very nicely written. Only after I started reading and recon used that the story was in part about British Guiana (now Guyana) did I realise that the Author is from my country of birth. Made me so very proud too.

i loved my experience in guyana and remote villages in india. not only was the story completely captivating but historically relevant and a bit educational. there were many twists and turns involving love, betrayal, spirituality, and more. i recommend it whole heartedly.

I really enjoyed this book. The characters felt so real to me that even when they behaved badly it was easy to forgive them. The threads of their lives were all brought together in a way that let me put the book down when I finished it with a sense of real satisfaction.

Great book! Mesmerizing from start to finish. Very intricately woven and well written. Could not put this book down as I related so much to the stories. Will definitely read the other books by Sharon Maas.

Really good book- didn't want to stop reading. The plot and characters were so well developed, each page made you wondering what would come next. Filled with heart wrenching moments and many surprises...definitely putting this book in one of my top book lists.

Gave a good inside to the Indian culture and history of British Guyana . It took me some time to get into the storyline but I did enjoy the book and got to the point that I could not put it down . (this review was written by my wife)
