Review:I found this an interesting book with well developed characters and an interesting plot. While I enjoyed the book, the pace was a bit slow, and it fit a bit too clearly into a "genre" to rank with a Tanya French or Laura Lippman. Read more
Review:This has all the elements of a good book. The one crucial flaw it is missing is character development. There is very little explanations or motivation behind any of the character's actions; it's almost as if they are doing what they do simply because...that's just what they do. Without the character development, everything is just a constant blur without context. Read more
Review:I can’t say enough about this story. About two people seeing each other one night and it ignited a love that would last last forever. Because that is what this story is. Yes he took her and it took her a bit to come to terms with it. For me it was a dark fairy tale but the kind that I love. Thank you for writing it. I didn’t want it to ever end. Read more
Review:I just finishing the Audible format of Red Mountain. I was expecting the "left-hanging" ending, as I'd read many reviews before I ordered the book. What I was not expecting was the disappointing quality of writing. It read like a string of cliches; as if the book was an audition for a contract with the Lifetime or Hallmark movie channel. Talk about an 'eye roll.' More than once I found myself exclaiming 'oh, come on!' So many reviewers remarked on the well developed characters. I also tho... Read more
Review:A Piece of the World is a fascinating look into the life of Christina Olson, a physically-afflicted woman who becomes a favorite subject of artist Andrew Wyeth, in particular his painting Christina's World. Christina's story is told with compassion and honesty; a woman who wants to be independent, but must rely on others. The story flows beautifully, with heart wrenching detail of Christina's physical challenges, and the longing in her heart to be loved, and to be whole. I could feel Christin... Read more
Review:Beautifully written, this is women’s fiction at its best. Ms. Griffin weaves a story of wealth and privilege, and how it can affect so many lives. The story takes place in Nashville where one family is surrounded by wealth and all its trappings, and one family lives simply. They are brought together when their teenage children become involved with each other. Although mostly told from Nina’s perspective as the wife and mother of the privileged, she did not grow up with money and does not lik... Read more
Review:This was my first time reading anything by Stephie Walls. It took me a while to get into it but once I did, I couldn't put it down. The books plot twists kept me guessing and I loved that. I don't want to be reading something and knowing exactly what happens next. You certainly don't with this book :)
James and Cora's story had pretty much everything you want in a book. Second chance love, secret baby, estranged family etc.... I could go on but I think you should just 1-click it and see for y... Read more
Review:When I first started reading this book I was a little disappointed and was very close to skipping it so that I would read it. You are probably wondering why, we’ll its all because it wasn’t about our favourite Arc Angel and Guild Hunter. But to be totally honest I’m glad that I did read it. Dmitri and Honor’s story had me on the edge of my seat. The connection between these two is something that you just don’t want to miss out on. You want to ride this roller coaster from the beginning to the ve... Read more
Review:This anthology features a collection of short stories in the Guild Hunter world. Three have been previously published. The last is new.
Angels' Pawn - Throughout the first three Guild Hunter novels, we get little teasers about the hunter Ashwini and her constant foil, the sexy Cajun vampire Janvier. But in this short story, we get to see the two of them in action. Though Ash is usually hunting Janvier, here they are working together to bring in a vampire at the center of a power struggle...
