The suspense continues in this series. There is never a dull moment! This book was hard to put down just as each of the previous books. Anyone who enjoys well written romantic-suspense this series is for you.

Debra Webb is a great story teller. With each book in this series I find myself more involved with the characters...I couldn't put this one down and I couldn't read fast enough! The ending was a shocker!

While enjoyed this book in the series, I think that many of the situations and scenerios are being rehashed from earlier versions, only in a slightly different manner. Maybe this is the intent as it is a continuation of the series, but I think some new fresh situations should also appear, along with the regular theme.

The writing style is decent. The characters need more depth. I kept waiting for something more to develop. I finally realized that Jess is nothing more than a hungry, horny excuse for a woman and certainly not someone I would want for a friend. And I got so tired of hearing about how she "moaned" when she took a bite of food. Good God, woman, get a life.

Debra Webb is becoming a master of the serial novel. Leave 'em hanging so they come back to find out more. Each of her novels is a cliff-hanger with no resolution. I love to read, but I want each novel to stand alone. Half of what she writes is constantly referring back to previous novels. Sorry, no more for me.

Spears and his minions are at it again. Three women disappear, two are returned. Where is the other woman? Meanwhile people are being murdered and Police chief Dan Burnett is under pressure from the mayor. He is also under suspicion for the disappearance of Captain Allen, head of the Gang task Force. Is Allen a crooked cop who has disappeared on his own or is he dead? Someone is doing a very good job of framing Dan. Jess is pregnant and hasn't told Dan or anyone else, she doesn't want to give Spears anything else to use in his war against her. So many twists and turns!! Another great story in the faces Of Evil series!

Eric Spears, an aggressive killer, and his cronies are at it again in VICIOUS, Book 7, in THE FACES OF EVIL SERIES. Three women have been abducted, two were set free. Will Jess and her partners be able to find the third victim before it’s too late? Debra Webb expertly weaves a story full of twists and turns. You will be held spellbound as you read along. Make sure to add this one to your collection!

Deputy Chief Jess Harris is investigating the disappearance of three women. Two of whom have been found alive. With the third victim still in the evil clutches of sadistic killer Eric Spears, Jess finds herself in a race against time to find the missing woman before it is too late.

Jess is not safe either, as long as Spears remains on the loose. Through one of his victims, he made sure that Jess was told that he was doing these killings just for her. Feeling unsafe, Jess has moved in with her boyfriend, Dan Burnett. She has been keeping the fact that she is pregnant from Dan because she can never find the right moment to tell him.

What will Dan’s reaction be when he discovers that Jess is pregnant? Will Jess finally be able to take down Eric Spears before he can kill again? Find out this and more in the latest installment of THE FACES OF EVIL series.

This series just keeps getting better with each book that comes out. Debra Webb knows how to keep readers anxiously chewing their nails in anticipation of the capture of Eric Spears. The romance between Jess and Dan is slowly heating up and the unexpected pregnancy that Jess is facing just seems to cement their relationship further.

Although VICIOUS reads well as a stand-alone, I suggest that you start with book one in the series for maximum impact. For a romantic suspense that melds action, adventure, mystery, intrigue and murder, with some stolen tender moments of intimacy. VICIOUS is exactly what you crave!

Debra Webb knows how to write suspense! Vicious is a good way to describe the murders Jess and her team are trying to solve. The Player loves playing games with Jess and she not only has to worry about The Player and the young women he is taking but people he is involving in his games. Gruesome murders are taking place and the description of the killer(s) doesn’t fit with The Player. Who are these new killers and are they connected to The Player? On top of that, she has a secret she hasn’t shared and needs to tell Dan first but when will they have some quiet time to talk when they are chasing killers. How will Dan feel about her secret and how will it affect their relationship and jobs? I don’t want to tell too much because the best part of reading suspense is the suspense of not knowing what’s going to happen next! Grab a copy to read this exciting continuation of the Faces of Evil.

I really loved this series in the beginning. Very suspenseful and the storyline was great. Now, it seems as though it is the same storyline and she will be trying to catch the same killer for the entire series which I think is 5 more books...... Too long for a single storyline.

LOVED! After reading Silence I was lucky enough to dive right into Vicious. THIS IS SPOILER FREE!!! I was engrossed from the very first page. Another roller coaster from start to finish. My favorite part of this series is Debra Webb's ability to continue the epic storyline of the serial killer Spears while Jess and Dan try living and working on everyday cases. This book has the current case and Spears's craziness colliding in psychotic proportions. All subplots are woven perfectly, Debra weaves a plot that keeps you begging for more. A nail biter for sure, I had butterflies all through. After 7 books and a novella I'm quite invested in the characters that Debra has brought to life. I can't wait for Vile to come my way. This series and Debra Webb's writing have fastly (is that a word, is now) become a favorite of mine.

Eric Spears isn’t done with Deputy Chief Jess Harris just yet, and he’s not being shy about it either. Knee-deep in the investigation of three missing women, he continues to mess with her mind and toy with her safety. Will The Player finally capture the object of his obsession or will she escape him yet again?

Jess Harris is a mess. As long as Eric Spears is in the wind, neither she nor her team is safe. When you add in the secret she’s keeping from everyone, well, she’s a ticking time bomb waiting to have a meltdown. While she doesn’t quite have a meltdown, she is much more vulnerable in this installment which was a nice change of pace. I love a good, strong heroine, especially one like Jess who doesn’t take anything off of anybody, but it’s good to see that they’re human as well.

It’s probably very wrong of me, but I’m a bit obsessed with Eric Spears myself. I’m not sure just what it is about him, if it’s that on the surface, he seems to be such a normal guy with a disturbing pastime, or if it’s his outright audacity in how he approaches Jess time and again. He’s a brilliant villain, that much is certain. The way he works events and places from her past into his current killing spree was absolutely cunning and wicked.

Debra Webb does it again with Vicious. I don’t know how she keeps bringing the intensity and depravity so consistently, but I am not complaining one bit. The only downside to this series is that each and every novel ends on a nail-biter of a cliffhanger, forcing you to wait in agony for the next installment. Which, in reality, is very good thing. What’s life without a little anticipation, right? I highly recommend this series to anyone who loves a powerful mystery or an exceedingly suspenseful romance. The Faces of Evil series has moved to the top of my favorites list!

Jess is being stalked. She can't go anywhere without a bodyguard. She moves in with Dan to releave the tension. She is still investigating murders. Now she finds out she is pregnant. How does she tell Dan? Each time she tries to tell him, something else happens.
Dead bodies are showing up all over the city at different places she has lived during her life, some she doesn't even know about. Who knows more about her past than she does?
Dan is being framed for the death of a missing police officer. Is he missing or dead?

This series just keeps on going!!!

The Faces if Evil series continues to entertain and intrigue. "Vicious" is without a doubt the best yet. Lots of twists, turns and unanswered questions leave the reader wanting more. Just like those who tuned into Fox every Monday night for years to see what was going to happen to Jack Bauer and company on "24". That is what a series is all about. Tired of Spears? Heck no! I can't wait to see what this dude does next. Bravo, Debra Webb! Keep it coming! Bring on "Vile"!

Vicious is the seventh book in Debra Webb’s Faces of Evil series. It is very hard to keep momentum going on a long running story; Webb accomplishes this and more. Once again there is a case of the week. This time two women are murdered in a vicious fashion. Forced to leave the Player case in the hands of the FBI, Jess focuses her attention on finding justice for the new victims. As she gets deeper into the investigation she realizes that Spears is connected to the events of her case. This connection brings to light more information about Spears, though still not enough. We are also treated to some significant positive changes in the relationship between Dan and Jess. I’m thoroughly enjoying the way Webb is spinning this series along. However, the impatient me wants to see Spears get his due sooner rather than later.

Thoroughly enjoyed this book. Did not want to put this book down. Hope to be able to enjoy more by this author. Each event was totally unexpected. The horror of the murders was unbelievable. I was surprised that the lieutenant was not involved in the murders because he seemed to appear on the scene rather out of the blue. I was suspicious of him the whole time.

The trials and tribulations are constant for Jess Harris. The fact that there is NO break between cases is a little odd to me, but I guess that is the way it has to be played right now. The Eric Spears saga continues with other cases intertwined. The suspense and twists keep coming, but somehow this one wasn't quite as satisfying as the others.

OMG, so i just discovered Debra Webb with reading Vicious book 7 of the Faces of Evil. Didn't realize it was a series at the time and couldn't believe the book ended where it did. That's when i learned it was a series. I have now bought all of the series up to the Wedding so i can start from the beginning. I absolutely loved Vicious and can't wait to get back to that point so i can see what happens, lol..

Ms. Webb has managed to write another fabulous, nerve wracking thriller. I read this straight through without stopping. Another fascinating case. But what keeps me back are her characters. Jess Harris is the human, idiosyncratic heroine whose journey through life i cannot get enough of. I love her for her foibles and her courage and frankness. In this installment, Ms. Webb introduces us to more twists and turns in Jess's life. It's a perfect companion for the beach!

These books that don't finish the story, and tell you to buy the next installment, are on
my list to never buy. They should at least warn you. It is the last book by this author
I will ever buy.

Did not disappoint! This book was recommended by a friend and I unknowingly stated at volume 7. Ms Webb filled in the missing pieces so perfectly, that I didn't realize it was #7 in a serious until the ending left me hanging and hungry for more.
