I pretty much liked everything about the book and what it stood for. I would recommend it quite highly just for the story line itself. Really makes you stop and think about how close minded people use to be and can still be today.

Antoine Rey and his sister, Melanie, dig into the secrets of their now dead mother, and we learn about the two of them. A loving brother and sister, they travel around France, looking for the mother they really didn't know. Tatiana de Rosnay is also the author of Sara's Key.

Having read _Sarah's Key_, I was quite looking forward to a second read from this author, but this was a disappointment to me. The characters were largely cliches (e.g., the brooding protagonist, his emotionally unavailable father, a shrew of a matriarch far too obsessed with her wealth and status, etc.) and the plot utterly predictable. I'd be shocked if any discerning reader hadn't guessed "the secret" by the time the second or third note from the dearly departed appeared. As I said, a disappointment.
Lock and Key by Sarah Dessen (2008-04-22) :: A Novel (Liam Taggart and Catherine Lockhart) - Karolina's Twins :: A Novel Based on a True Holocaust Story - My Mother's Secret :: The House I Loved :: The Twenty-five Rules of Considerate Conduct - Choosing Civility

A Secret Kept held my attention throughout the entire book. de Rosnay's storylines are always fascinating and intriguing. I love the details she provides about Paris and the outlying countryside. Her characters are everyday people that can be identified with.

After reading Sarah's Key I was expecting a novel of the same caliber. I didn't feel it measured up though I do like Tatiana deRosnay's style of writing and look forward to her next novel with high hopes.

I was disappointed in A Secret Kept because I had read Sarah's Key, which was an exceptional book that is why I ordered another book by Tatiana De Rosnay. I was expecting A Secret Kept to be equally as intriging and it wasn't.

After reading Tatiana de Rosnay's first novel, Sarah's Key, I was most anxious to enjoy this her second novel. Though I did enjoy A Secret Kept, it did not match the powerfulness of Sarah's Key. I did, however, enjoy it in a completely different way. It was most intriguing, suspenseful and entertaining and I do look forward to Rosnay's next book.

A great adventure through our complex world. Reminds me of how some of how my parents raised me and that teenage years of our children tax us beyond repair. Thank you for creating a great character that saves the day.

The book definitely kept my attention/suspense. It just never had a "Wow". There were some things that I didn't quite understand why they were in the book, except for possibly symbolism. You just can't beat her prior book, "Sarah's Key".
