Among The Hidden by Margaret Peterson Haddix (1998-09-01)

This was one of my favourite series from growing up. Now going back and re-reading them I am very pleasantly suprised at just how great these stories were. Definitely worth your time to read this book at least, and alsoo Running Out of Time, also by Haddix.

Loved this book!! Definitely one of my favorites! In general I love haddix and her many different series and booms. She is a great and amazing author. Totally recommend her other books and the other books in this series as well. TOTALLY READ!!

This book was so intriguing, at THE END.... notice the big the end, honestly if u want a book that will keep u entertained the whole time dont buy this book, but it was very good so I suggest asking other ppl what they thought other than that BUY IT

A teacher and friend of mine suggested this series for my 12 year old son who doesn't enjoy reading. He read it in two days. I also read it and we discussed the details of the book and how likely this was to happen in our society( read book review for details). It opened the door to many stimulating conversations. We have started the second book and it is just as good so far.

The beginning was really good and when he found the third child girl the story got that much better. But after the rally when there was only 40 people and they all got shot my expression immediately turned to sadness. ' very good book I recommend it to anyone of any age. 5 stars.

I chose this rating because of how mysterious the book was and also that it has a series and I really liked it I hope you get this book also if you are a adult,My teacher is so excited to read the next book I Already did

I'm an elementary school teacher and like to read as many children's books as I can. I read the sample on my kindle and couldn't wait to get to a wifi area to purchase the book! I finished the book in a day and bought the second book right away!! I've read three from this series so far and can't wait to finish!

Interested in what juvenile literature is popular at this time, I read this book as it was recommended by some sixth grade students in the school where I work. It was fantastic and I have already read the next two books in the series. I highly recommend it!

I've read this book, and the whole Shadow Children series, back when I was in middle school, and I instantly became hooked. Because I read the books for school, I couldn't take my time to truly capture the life of the book to enjoy it wholeheartedly. Now that I am much, much older since middle school, I decided to return to the Shadow Children series for the second time, and I have to say that with the better understanding of reading I have now, I am happy to start this intense adventure again. I was able to discover new details that I've missed in middle school, and picked up more amazing foreshadows Haddix hints her readers. Even though I have retained the surface idea of the series, the storyline is still as suspenseful, still sympathetic, and still as addictive as the first time.

This book, Among the Hidden, is just the beginning of a life-long journey for the shadow children and their historic adventure.
