While I enjoyed the story, it would have been better if it had been longer. There were places that I felt were slightly shallow in development, and several of the characters were one dimensonal. My overall impression of the book was that it was suitable for a younger audience, but if all you're looking for is an enjoyable book to pass the time with, read this. Just don't expect too much.

I chose this rating because Mercedes Lackey has always been my favorite author. Her storytelling spins you into another world, a time and place where true love actually exists, where the impossible is actually obtainable

This was the first book I read by Mercedes Lackey and I loved it. It was recommended to me by a friend of mine and I have been searching for this book everywhere. I'm glad I finally found it.
I thought that it a was very cute, fast reading story. Definitely nothing like Lackey's other work but I still recommend you read it as long as you keep in mind that Lackey is deviating from her norm in this book.

Mercedes Lackey fans, please do not be fooled into thinking this is a typical novel of hers. It is a short story (or novelette at most), geared toward young adult readers. While it isn't bad, it certainly isn't what I expect from a typical Lackey read!
