TTB combines the perfect mixture of mystery, romance, and historical fiction to create an engaging story. The plot unfolds through the voices of three women. The reader meets sisters who must learn to forgive both themselves and each other. They learn that "the time between" is a grace period of preparation for second chances. Equally important to the story are the elements of music, art, and WWII history that are skillfully woven through this moving novel. It is a perfect selection for a book group discussion. This is the first book I've read by Karen White, and she has officially been added to my list of authors to follow. I was introduced to her via "Grand Central" which is a "must read" anthology of original stories of postwar love and reunion by ten of my favorite authors.

I really enjoyed reading this book. I always enjoy a book with familiar settings, expecially Edisto. This is my "happy place"! The characters were very engaging and made you care about them. I would definately recommend this book.

The Time Between is a very entertaining read at the beach, on an airplane or simply while sipping coffee on the porch. Karen has a wonderful knack of weaving history, romance, conflict and mystery into the story. Her description of the setting in Edisto Island off the coast of Charleston makes me want to pack a bag and fly there right now. And you can't help but fall in love with Finn, Eleanor and even Finn's great aunt Helena.

Karen White keeps growing. I found this novel particularly entertaining. That's what I want from most novels these and Karen supplies it. She has a gift for story telling that sucks you right in. A really good read.
