I bought for the newest grandchild for his first book from Grandma and Grandpa. It is such a cute book. I am very lucky that my daughter-in-law and son feel the importance of reading to the children.

Whenever Mem Fox and Helen Oxenbury get together, you know it's going to be good. This is a sweet book for young children, which exposes them to a multicultural perspective without being over the top.

The illustrations and the text make this a darling book to read with young children. I can read this book over and over again. The illustrations are delightful, sweet and gentle. I enjoyed its multicultural bent.

Wonderful book for all little ones. As a preschool teacher for many years, this is a favorite book of toddlers, threes and fours. I purchase this book for many new babies, and encourage all parents to buy a copy and add to your child's library.

Hadn't read this book before but read good reviews. Very, very cute book and has a flow to it as you read. Didn't realize it was a big book, bigger than most smaller board books, but that's only because I didn't pay attention to the dimensions... And also it doesn't really matter. Just a little too big for my 4 month old to hold and play around with, as he does most of his board books. Love the story and the pictures are cute! :)

This book has everything you want for an early childhood reader. Predictable text for encouraging reading, easy rhythm, intriguing pictures, and charm. The final section of the book makes it easy for parents and children to connect. My three year old loves it and now describes her doll babies using the text (wrapped in an eiderdown, suffers from fevers and chills), and my 9 month old loves the expressive baby pictures. This has become a favorite in our house and a gift we always give for baby showers.
